Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of the most difficult reservations to get on property. At this all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant, you can meet all Fab Five characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto.

Serving a full Buffet for breakfast and dinner, this long-standing character restaurant is a favorite for kids and adults alike. The food is good (and getting better), the close-to-the-Magic-Kingdom location is convenient, and the celebration songs and parades are fun for everyone.

Chef Mickey’s is undeniably one of Disney World’s most iconic dining experiences.

The Characters at Chef Mickey’s

The real appeal at Chef Mickey’s is that you’re guaranteed to meet the Fab Five without waiting in line.

Watch for Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto.

This is the EASIEST way to meet the most classic Disney characters, and you can dine while doing so. You’ll get plenty of time to make some beautiful memories with them!

Located on the 4th floor, this entire restaurant embodies the whimsical fantasy of a character-filled venue.

The monorail overlooks the dining room with tables and booths.

There’s even an included area for a quick photo op to remember your dining experience.

We’ll warn you now…it can get very LOUD inside Chef Mickey’s. Be prepared to get up and dance!

• Want the iconic Fab Five character buffet near Magic Kingdom. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto work the room while you work the buffet at breakfast or dinner. Big energy, big smiles, big photo ops.
• Dining with kids or mixed palates. Buffet = everyone builds a happy plate. Mickey waffles for tiny humans, carving station and salads for grown-ups, and plenty of “one more bite” leverage while you wait for the next character loop.
• Easy monorail logistics. You’re in the Grand Canyon Concourse at Disney’s Contemporary—roll off the monorail, eat, and be on your way to (or from) Magic Kingdom without a bus in sight.
• Using the Disney Dining Plan. Chef Mickey’s is a 1-credit Table Service pick on the Dining Plan—handy if you’re budgeting around character meals.

Skip Chef Mickey’s if…

• Watching the budget. Sticker shock is real.
• Hoping for quiet or chef-driven cuisine. This is a lively, kid-forward buffet—great for memories, less great for hushed conversation or intricate plating.
• On a tight schedule without a reservation. It’s popular and built for lingering; ADRs are highly recommended, and the vibe is more “celebration meal” than “in-and-out in 40 minutes.”

• Breakfast is usually served until 12:30PM. Lunch is not currently offered at Chef Mickey’s.
• You can utilize Mobile Check-In for your reservation.
• See the Mobile Dine Walk-up Waitlist.
• Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members should inquire about a discount.
• Reservations are very difficult to get at Chef Mickey’s. Call 407-WDW-DINE, visit the Walt Disney World website, or use My Disney Experience 60 days in advance to make reservations. If you’ll be staying at a Disney resort, call 60 days in advance and ask for availability during all days of your stay.
