I recently had the best panini I’ve ever tasted. Seriously. And it was at Fresh — a casual dining restaurant in the Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort (within walking distance of two WDW theme parks!).
Featuring Mediterranean recipes reminiscent of Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Morocco, Fresh offers simple, flavorful menu options. We chatted in a previous post about the fun new drink offerings that Fresh has dreamed up, and the buffet breakfast has something for everyone.
The a la carte offerings at breakfast and lunch also offer some great choices. Another perk: an unlimited dessert buffet is available to all who order a salad or sandwich from the lunch menu!
On my recent visit, I started with that great new drink — the “Fresh” Extraction, which combines Ketel One Citroen and the fresh juice extracts of Kiwi, Apple, Wheatgrass, Pineapple, Orange, Spinach, and Ginger. Delicious.
At the table, we also ordered the “Fresh” Caesar Salad, with polenta croutons and lemon-garlic dressing (in this order, we added shredded rotisserie chicken) and the Grilled Chicken Panini with mozzarella, pesto, and vinegar peppers.
The Caesar, ordered by my table-mate, looked gorgeous!
But I’m pretty sure my panini blew everything else out of the water that day! It was phenomenal. I know — grilled chicken, pesto, cheese…so what? But, seriously guys, it was wonderful. I searched for another time in the schedule when I could get back to have another one of those! It was savory, flavorful, and the perfect temperature throughout. I also loved the small order of fries that came with it — just big enough to enjoy the taste but not feel overly full.
But what might really catch your eye here is the unlimited dessert buffet. These are only a few of the many offerings that were available when I last visited.
Have you been to Fresh? Let us know what you think in the comments section below! 🙂

Fresh offers, in my opinion, one of the best breakfast buffets on the property. It’s one of the few buffets in which one can get egg alternatives made to order (egg whites, egg substitutes, etc.). I avoid eating egg yolks due to the ghastly amount of cholesterol, so it’s such a treat to be able to order a fantastic egg breakfast of my choice (as you know, the great majority of buffets only offer regular scrambled eggs).
Fresh also has a rotation of specialty pancakes, waffles, and French toast that never fails to impress. If you’re there and they’re making the apple pancakes that morning, you’re in luck. So simple, but these pancakes will knock your socks off.
Finally, Fresh makes a selection of juice concoctions that are a little bizarre sounding, but just awesome. They’re ultra healthy and full of different kinds of fruits, veggies, wheatgrass, etc. High in antioxidants and vitamins, this is a great way to start your day.
Don’t get me wrong…when I’m at Disney on vacation, I’m absolutely going to eat a Brownie Sandwich from Earl of Sandwich and a Zebra Cupcake from Kusafiri, but it’s also nice to have some healthier food while I’m there!

The menu looks fantastic. Those Mini Creme Brulee will get Matt over there with me in no time!

I love Fresh’s breakfast buffet! My favorite part is the omlette bar with the little cups so you can add your fillings (I know, it’s the little things for me haha) to your liking. I’ve never been there for lunch, but the food looks great (and an unlimited dessert bar is always intriguing!).

This looks fabulous! (Of course, part of it is you take exceptional food photos.) Fresh is going on my list for my next trip, I keep hearing such great things about it.

An unlimited dessert bar? Included with lunch? My goodness, how on earth did I miss THIS?

Wow! I need to definitely look into this– each picture looked better than the last– and then you throw in pictures of a dessert bar? With interesting looking (and far from standard) desserts? Wow– again!

I was there about two years ago, but my memory fails me. I had red-eyed in after having to be at work late, Magical Express got me to my resort at 2am, and we has a 7-ish reservation for this and a commando assault on MK. My brain was in “coffee… protein….coffee” mode. Apparently I had a wonderful breakfast without even knowing it!

This great looking place puts a fine point on the comment I just made about the DDP. If you get hooked into only eating at the plans restaurants you would miss his place.
Now I have to get my wife to the doctor’s office. She fainted when she looked at the pics of the dessert buffet.

The most I want from Disney’s breakfast offerings are pancakes with sausages but I have never seen any other eatery offer fresh juices. Plus, the more sedate nature of this resort and its proximity to Epcot (nosh crawl) makes this a tempting alternative.

I stayed in the Dolphin for a conference and dined at Fresh for lunch twice. Both times, really good food, relaxed atmosphere, and the dessert buffet was a big hit (it was a romance writers’ conference- we love desserts!). Not sure I would go out of the way for it, but if was staying in the area again (at any of the Epcot-area resorts), I would go to Fresh.
