Only 18 days until our second annual WDW Foodie Fest in Walt Disney World!!
As you know, we’ve already announced two more WDW Foodie Fest events (for a total of four!), but we’ve got more news today on our Main Event!
WDW Foodie Fest Main Event
Taking place on October 2, 2011, from 11am-1pm at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the WDW Foodie Fest Main Event is an Open House full of food (just ordered even more Mickey Bars and Mickey Rice Krispie Treats for the menu!) and games (should you have the inclination). All are welcome!
But for those of you who are a bit more adventurous, we also prepare a WDW Foodie Fest Scavenger Hunt through the Epcot Food & Wine Festival! (Guests will need Epcot admission if they’d like to take part in the Scavenger Hunt.)
Scavenger Hunt Sneak Peek
Similar to last year’s Hunt, we’ll have two options: the “Grown-Ups” hunt and the “Family” hunt. Usually, kids over the age of 8 should be able to handle the “Grown-Ups” hunt — it’s just a bit tougher than the “Family” hunt, which is designed for younger kids to enjoy.
When you arrive at the WDW Foodie Fest, grab a Mickey Bar and head on out to Epcot with your Scavenger Hunt clues. Those who finish and get the correct answer to the master clue at the end of the Hunt will be entered in our drawing for prizes!!
This year’s Scavenger Hunt is nearing completion, and we wanted to give you a sneak peek at a couple of the questions! Do you know the answers…?
What is the street address number of La Hacienda de San Angel?
What Funnel Cake topping in the American Adventure pavilion costs just $1.00?
What animal can be found above the entrance to Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion?
Get your Scavenger Hunt teams together and your t-shirts made!! You’re sure to be an Epcot food expert by the time you’re through! 🙂
Be sure to register here if you’re interested in attending the WDW Foodie Fest Main Event. While it’s not necessary to register to attend, it helps us know how many scavenger hunts to print and how many Mickey Bars to order!
We’re excited to see you at the WDW Foodie Fest! Be sure to check out the schedule of events here! Now, a bit more about the 2011 WDW Foodie Fest…
About WDW Foodie Fest
Join the Disney Food Blog team during the first week of the 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival as we gather to celebrate Disney food!
Currently we have four WDW Foodie Fest events scheduled. Here are the deets…
Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, 11am-1pm: WDW Foodie Fest Main Event
We’ll be at our very own private location — Ariel’s in Disney’s Beach Club Resort — from 11am-1pm enjoying the comforts of this beautiful (and air-conditioned!) space.
This FREE event is available to everyone, and is an “open house”, so just stop in whenever you’re available (no need to stay the full two hours, though you’re welcome to do so :-D). We’ll provide the snacks and games, and you’ll the option to head out on our Scavenger Hunt through Epcot.
Thursday, October 6, 2011, 11am-?: WDW Foodie Fest Sweet Stroll
Join me for a trip around the world — Epcot-style! The focus on this stroll around World Showcase will be fabulous desserts! I’ll lead the way to my favorite sweet treats and we’ll see how many we can master!
We’ll be starting in Mexico and meeting at the La Cantina de San Angel tables across from the Mexico Pyramid. It’s free to stroll with us, but budget enough to cover any yummy treats you’d like to try.
Friday, October 7, 2011, 5:30pm-?: WDW Foodie Fest Sushi and Sake Meet
Join me at Kimonos at the Disney World Swan Resort for sushi, sake, good fun, and friends! With great sake and maybe some Karaoke — this is sure to be a memorable evening with friends. Oh, and even if you don’t like sushi, they have some awesome chicken on a stick! 😉
We’re not sure how long this one will last, but we’ll likely be there for about two hours before I head out to the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic! Cost is free to drop by the meet-up! Food and drink purchases are at your expense.
Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, 8:30-9:30pm: WDW Foodie Fest Snack Attack Illuminations Dessert Party, Featuring DFB Favorites!

James D. says
I can’t wait! Thanks for the warning about the free Mickey bars. I’ll be sure to skip breakfast…
Dale says
I would plan my trip around the dessert party next year!
Becky says
Question – does one have to have a Disney Park Ticket to do the Scavenger Hunt thru EPCOT? I do have a pass, but my friends do not…so wondering for them. 🙂 Thanks!
Becky says
A friend said that they called and were told that they would be allowed to go into EPCOT b/c of a guide or something…but I got conflicting information.
AJ says
James — We’ll see you there!
Dale — Sounds fun!
Becky — Your friend might have been getting information about the October 4th Snack Attack Illuminations Dessert Party — for that event, guests with no admission ticket will be escorted into the park.
ALL guests WILL need an Epcot admission ticket if they wish to take part in the October 2nd Scavenger Hunt 🙂
Anne says
Will you post the entire scavenger hunt questions after the event? We are going in December and are always looking for new challenges at the parks.
AJ says
Hi Anne! Great idea! Sure; we can do that!
JoAnn says
Sounds like fun! I’ll be on the lookout for the scavenger hunt questions for my trip in November.
