UPDATE: See our review of the new menu here!
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater transports guests to an “outdoor” drive-in theater in the mid-twentieth century (a.k.a. the 50’s and 60’s)! 😉
Hokey Sci-Fi film clips entertain while you wait for your food at your “car” table. Go ahead and let the kids have the front seats!
New Menu at Sci-Fi Dine-In
You know that Disney World has been changing up menus quite a bit lately, and Sci-Fi didn’t escape the culinary refurb.
Our friends Ryan S. and Kaila L. let us know on the Disney Food Blog facebook page about the change, and posted a photo for us, too!
If you need a better peek, you can check out this full-size menu on the Disney World website.
By the way — Ryan says the Balsamic Drizzle on the Chicken Sandwich is awesome! 🙂 I can’t wait to check it out.
Have you had a chance to sample any of the new eats? Let us know in the comments below!
Bill Robbins says
I’m glad they kept the Ruben (and got rid of the ribs).
Pudge the Fish says
Yikes, I’m a dyed-in-the-wool carnivore, but I’ve never considered putting a hot dog on a burger, ala the new picnic burger.
Some things about Disney’s culinary vision just boggle me sometimes; i.e. mandatory “healthy” sweet potato fries at various DL eateries versus “heart attack” picnic burger at Sci-Fi.
Wendy says
I’d probably just stick with the usual burger anyways. Whenever I go there, I always want the usual burger, fries and milkshake! Love eating lunch there!
Nikki Holland says
Oooh…. Hubby and I will be eating there on Tuesday; I think I’ll force him into trying the Picnic Burger. For me, I’m all about the steak!
Christina says
Can’t wait to try it in December!
Jenny says
I can’t wait to go next month. I think I’ll stay with the single hamburger.
🙂
Angie says
We ate at Sci-Fi for the first time in May and YUMMY I had the Reuben and my hubby had the ribs! I really enjoyed the red velvet cheesecake MMMMM to die for! And this was one of the only meals in 14 days my kids (1,4,7) ate and behaved and no one could hear if they didn’t! It is def on our list for next time!
JoAnn says
I’m looking forward to eating at the Sci-Fi in November.
Robyn says
We just ate there a little over a week ago!! The shrimp pasta, burger, and chicken sandwich are all amazing!! The “car hops” there ate awesome too!! If you go try to get Tony, he’s very nice, funny too! 🙂
Janna says
Noooooo!!! My beloved Beef & Bleu Salad is gone! *sniff*
Back to the Reuben…(I recover quickly, lol)
Sharon C says
Is this the menu now for lunch & dinner? I was SO looking forward to the black & blue salad on 12/06!
Devin says
I’m bummed that the Mango Seared Tofu is gone! I’d only had it once, but it was really good!
Becca says
The thing that excites me most is the fact that Disney’s own website holds all of these menus! Is there some kind of central area on their site where we can access all of them?
Sara says
Is that the lunch menu or the dinner menu? I must say, a hot dog on a burger sounds pretty disconcerting…lol. But I’m glad to see more burgers on the menu, that’s just classic Sci-Fi to me!
Kevin Devine says
The Black n Bleu Salad and the BBQ Ribs are gone… Those two were the only reasons I went to Sci-fi… Guess I’ll have to find different dining options next visit…
NT3 says
I was going to say how happy I was that they had both wings and buffalo chicken potato skins! Very cool.
But then I noticed THE BURGER WITH A HOT DOG ON IT! That’s just awesome on so many levels!
Kevin says
Interesting menu. Can someone describe what Red Velvet Cheesecake is? (Not that it matter’s much, I’ll probably get the peanut-butter chocolate cake…)
Alan says
Everyone who commented above seems so excited about this menu. But I find it odd. It seems more like a limited bar menu rather than a sit down restaurant menu. Mostly sandwiches and appetizers. This is the type of food that I would rather spend a few hours at a bar, surrounded by some friends and backed up with a bunch of drinks. Not the sort of thing you can do in a Disney themed restaurant.
John says
An $18.49 bacon cheeseburger ? Did I see that correctly ? I think I’ll leave this one on my “pass” list. If I get stuck eating at Hollywood Studios, which I try not to do, I usually stay with the 50’s Primetime Diner. At least the comfort food is worth it.
AJ says
Pudge, Wendy, NT3 — Well, I’m going to take one for the team and try the Picnic Burger for lunch tomorrow. Will let you know how it is!
Nikki — I bet those are the two entrees we’ll be getting as well! ;-D
Christina and JoAnn — Let us know what you think!
Jenny — Good choice!
Angie — Can’t wait to try the red velvet cheesecake!
Janna — So flexible! 🙂 I’m the same way!
Robyn — Thanks for the review! 🙂
Sharon C and Sara — This is lunch AND dinner right now. Not sure if they’ll create a new dinner menu as well.
Devin — RIP Mango Seared Tofu. 🙁
Becca — They’re getting MUCH better at updating the menus regularly. No central area, yet — you have to go to the actual restaurant page to see the menu.
Kevin Devine — Time for fried chicken at 50s Prime Time!
Kevin — My guess is cheesecake and red velvet cake all mixed up together — but I’ll let you know soon!
Alan — Maybe they just want us to move even quicker! The very short movie reel isn’t enough incentive… 😉
John — Agreed on 50s Prime Time! And we’ve been really shocked at the price increases this year on the new menus. Seems extravagant to be sure.
jill says
I hope the dining plan covers the defibrillator that will be needed for us after eating the picnic burger!
marcellina says
so the angus burger (not the one with the hot dog on it) is the same as the regular burger they used to have for lunch right? Cause that burger is soooo good and I always order that and nothing else! I haven’t been to sci fi in a few years though cause I’ve been trying new restaurants, but the sci fi burger was always a favorite with our family. Good luck with that picnic burger AJ, I think you’re going to need it!
Emma G says
Yey, sweet potato fries with the veggie burger, love them, love the taste 😉
Melissa says
I had the ribs when I visited a few months back and while they were tasting, eating them in the dark was the sloppiest, messiest experience I’ve ever had. Probably a good move to remove something difficult to consume in the dark, even if they were so tasty.
Patty says
Where on Disney did you find the full size menu? Are there others?
Em says
Gutted the Tofu was my fav not sure if we will return to Sci Fi now, we might try somewhere else in HS.
Theresa says
Any reviews yet on the Chicken Wings? I love wings and would love to know how they measure up.
AJ says
Theresa — you can see our review of the chipotle barbecue chicken wings here in our review of the new menu!
