While I was researching in Walt Disney World for our DFB Mini-Guide to Magic Kingdom Snacks e-Book last May, I came across…this:
My thoughts on it? Slightly disturbing. And with that milky-fleshy color on Mickey’s face, not very appetizing. It’s along the lines of those giant gummy spiders and massive gummy alligators, so my guess is that this has been created to be a kid-induced impulse purchase as your family walks through the Main Street Confectionery.
According to the label, it has “artificial Apple flavoring.” And Mickey’s head is slightly larger than the palm of your hand.
I’m thinking this might have been a lapse in judgment on Disney’s part, but I’d love to hear what you guys think. Have you tried this snack, or is it on your list to sample? My fingers are crossed for some positive reviews!

There’s no way I’d buy it, and none of my kids would be interested in it, either. It doesn’t even look like gummy candy!

We had one snack credit left and were super stuffed so I decided to let my daughter pick anything out she wanted and of course she went straight for the huge Mickey head! I tried to steer her in another direction but it wasn’t happening. After all I said anything.
To my surprise it was good! I only tried a little nibble but it tasted just like a fruit gummy. After awhile it did get a little sticky but by that point she was done so we just tossed it. She loved it, and I didn’t think it was bad. It is a cute little take home treat!

Can’t imagine that anyone would want to eat THAT. And it’s about $3.00!!There are too many other good Disney candies to bother with this one.

Our 16 yo is obsessed with large gummy items, so I am sure this has potential to be a stocking stuffer for her. It’s certainly a little easier to buy than a 7lb gummy bear (which IS on her list) ~ I mean, after all, it *IS* Mickey Mouse 🙂

James — That’s what I thought, too, but Jackie’s comment is compelling! 🙂
Jackie — Thanks for the positive vibes! How was the apple flavor?
Eeyore — I agree that I think I’d go for a piece of fudge for the price tag!

Food like that from China…. I don’t think so…

Wow, my daughter’s won’t eat anything that looks like anything living or cute. Use those food markers to draw eyes on an apple and they won’t touch it. There’s no way on earth they would eat that. They would probably need therapy if they saw someone eating Mickey Mouse’s head! 🙂

Mental note : Do recon through Confectionary to see where these horrid things are & keep 3 children on opposite side at all times so they never know it exists!!

It just looks creepy.

Yuck…my kids will be sticking to the rice krispy Mickey heads!!! And the ice cream ones! 🙂

My family and I decided to try it since it was $1.49. I would have to say I was not a fan of the taste at all.

I just don’t eat opaque gummies. Again, I haz issuezzzz…;)

With so many other choices in that price range I don’t see why an adult would go for this. That being said, this isn’t for an adult. The true taste test should be done with children. Can we enlist a kid to review this?

Eep. I am the first to admit that any health pretence goes straight out of the window at WDW (thank heavens for all that walking!), but when the first two ingredients are sugar and corn syrup, I can’t help but feel a little queasy. The problem with giant *anything* is that it gets very boring very quickly. There are plenty of far tastier things to buy!
Alan says
Hollow it out and fill it with vodka.

I would rather see a Mickey shaped container full of loads Mickey shapes, similar to Haribo Golden Bears in scale. I love Gummy but the scale and colours of that would put me off…..although in the interests of fairness I would give it a go, lol

I do like gummy candies, but I think this would be a bit much.
