Disneyland’s Bayou Bash Mardi Gras celebration is coming to an end on March 11th. This means you have just a few days to get over there and try some of the special menu items that New Orleans Square has to offer, like this amazing corn chowder!
This past week, I was able to get my taste buds on literally what I thought was the best soup I’ve ever had at the Disneyland Resort: the Mardi Gras Southern Corn Chowder.
The Harbour Galley, a small soup & salad stand located on the banks of the Rivers of America is serving up this special menu item for the Bayou Bash celebration.
The chowder, described as “Southern Style Corn Chowder garnished with Roasted Corn and Black Eye Pea Maque Choux,” is served up in a warm sourdough bread bowl with a side of oyster crackers.
This soup is just amazing. It is not spicy, more of a sweet corn taste with hints of the Cajun flavors. The Maque Choux garnish is fantastic, with the peppers and onions being the most obvious flavors in the mix.
Not only was this soup a treat to eat, but the outdoor seating at the Harbour Galley has such nice ambiance. My friend and I were able to sit right in front of the Mark Twain Riverboat while we enjoyed our midday snack.
Another bonus of this location? We were able to get a pretty good view of the Mardi Gras Procession. We even saw King and Queen Mickey and Minnie!
So with just a few days left, be sure to head over to Disneyland this weekend to get your hands on some of this amazing soup!! 🙂 Let us know what you think.
Have you had the chance to visit the Bayou Bash at Disneyland? Did you get to feast on any special menu items?

@Brandy – Let me know what you try! That soup is amazing. Wish it was a regular menu item. The cheesecake, also a winner! Glad you finally got that gorgeous Hungry Bear cupcake though. It’s ALMOST too pretty to eat! I totally agree on the ice cream situation there.
