As we get closer to the June 15, 2012 opening of the new Cars Land in Disney California Adventure, we wanted to take a look at what we know so far about the Radiator Springs’ restaurants.
After all, we’ve come along way in gathering details about these venues since our earlier reports. And while we’re not holding our collective breath, we’re still crossing our fingers that someday we’ll see an announcement for a drive-in type restaurant similar to the Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
For now… let’s take a look at what we DO know is coming in just under two months.
Flo’s V8 Cafe
This is the hot-spot when traveling along historic Route 66! Resembling a giant air filter in Radiator Springs, Flo’s V8 Cafe will serve cuisine inspired by the Mom ‘n Pop Diners we all know and love. As a quick-service option for breakfast meals, lunch, and dinner, the cafe will also have an outdoor patio overlooking Ornament Valley.
Race fans will love Flo’s dining room, which is fashioned after a showroom and also serves as a museum of artifacts from the legendary race car driver, Doc Hudson. And, of course you’ll want to check out Flo’s memorabilia from her past as a Motorama Girl. We’re really looking forward to trying out the comfort food, so let’s review the menu!
Signature Breakfast Items
Breakfast at Flo’s will feature a Chicken Tamale with Scrambled Eggs, Salsa Verde, and Pico De Gallo. Rather have something on the sweet side? Try the Salted Caramel and Bananas Brioche French Toast.
Signature Lunch and Dinner Items
Of course you remember the Veggie-Tater Bake with Roasted Vegetables, Bulgur Wheat, Soy Crumbles, and Smashed Red Skin Potatoes topped with Melted Cheddar. Check out the recipe here!
From the rotisserie, sample Pork Loin, Citrus Turkey, or NY Strip Loin. All of these are served with your choice of Peas and Carrots, Roasted Corn Medley, Vegetarian BBQ Beans, or Mashed Potatoes.
Also on the menu? A “Radiatore” Pasta Salad or Cole Slaw, and Home-Made Pies for dessert, including Apple-Cheddar, Strawberry-Rhubarb, Chocolate Mud, Blueberry-Peach, or Cherry.
Cozy Cone Motel
Many of us will remember the Wigwam style motels along Route 66 from our road trips as kids. The Cozy Cone is styled after Sally’s motel from the Cars film!
While there’s no opportunity to sleep-over at this Radiator Springs motel, you can stop by for unique “cone” eats and specialty beverages. Order a souvenir cup for your race fan! Quick-Service meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) will be offered with limited outdoor seating.
Each Cone Has Something Different! Which will YOU try first?
In Cone 1, guests will find Churro Bites with Cinnamon-Chocolate Sauce, Cinnamon-spiced Hot Cocoa, and Ramone’s Pear of Dice Soda (Dessert Pear Syrup, Mojito Syrup, and Sprite); while Cone 2 offers soft-serve Ice Cream and “Route” Beer Floats (HA!).
Cone 3 is where you’ll find your heartier options served in bread cones! The list here includes Breakfast Cones like Bacon Scrambled Egg or Scrambled Egg Verde. Lunch and Dinner Cones here include that fun Chili Cone Queso we mentioned on the blog previously, or Chicken Verde.
Drinks at Cone 3 include Filmore’s Fuelin’ Groovy Ades — All Natural Lemonade with Wildberry Foam OR Pomegranate Limeade with Lemon-Lime Foam. Yummo! Can’t wait to try the lime one!
Over at Cone 4 is where you’ll find my favorite thing — cheese sauce!! This spot serves Pretzel Bites with Cheesy Sauce and another fun non-alcoholic drink: Red’s Apple Freeze — Frozen Apple Juice with Toasted Marshmallow Syrup, and Passion Fruit-Mango Foam. Toasted Marshmallow Syrup?! Wha?!
Finally, over in Cone 5, two popcorn flavors will be featured each day. Get ready to try Salt & Vinegar, Pickle, Bacon & Cheddar, Sweet & Spicy, or Nacho Cheese.
Out on the road, Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic (Sprite with Wild Grape Syrup and Wild Berry Foam) is the perfect accompaniment.
Your touring group will love this pit stop!
Fillmore’s Taste-In
As it ends up, Fillmore’s Taste-In will be a snack kiosk offering on-the-go healthy foods. Featuring fresh fruit (whole and cut) and beverages (bottled water, juices, soft drinks), Fillmore — the hippie of Carburetor County — serves up natural fuels from his tie-dyed geodesic dome home. Groovy, right?! 😉
What Cars Land menu item are you most looking forward to?
Heather Sievers says
I wonder if the pomegranate limeade is the same as the Practically Perfect Punch over at Jolly Holiday??? I hope so, it’s SO yummy. Can’t wait to check out all of these goodies!
Pudge the Fish says
Awesome, how timely! I was just trying to find Cars Land dining details this morning as I plan for my August Disneyland vacation. I have my eye on the Salted Caramel and Bananas Brioche French Toast and a strawberry/rhubarb pie from Flo’s. Sweet tooth talking. 🙂
Looking forward to hearing more about dining on Buena Vista Street too, namely the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Pig Cafe. Another blog is reporting Starbuck’s coffee and barista’s at that location.

OMG I think Im going to go broke just trying all the food wile IM there 🙂
AJ says
Heather — Ooh — I didn’t think of that! And, yes, my friend, this set-up sounds like you and the fam will be eating for days on end! 😉
Pudge — Yay!! I’m so glad we could help! We’ve got a few details on Buena Vista street that we can put together soon! It sounds like the Fiddler is going to be a lot like Jolly Holiday — breakfast pastries and sandwiches, then sandwiches and soups for lunch/dinner.
Christal — Ha ha! I’m SURE I am! 😉
AC says
Bread cones remind me of something I vaguely remember from original Sunshine Seasons at the Land in Epcot…think they were called “handwiches”?
Shayne says
First stop — Cone #1 for those Churro Bites!! We are positively addicted to DLR churros, so I’m really looking forward to that.
AJ says
AC — Yes! Handwiches were very similar!
AJ says
Shayne — I know! Sounds great! Plus…cheese…come on.
Tam says
I will be there on opening day to try these out! Thanks for making this list.
