Disney’s Hollywood Studios is once again hosting Star Wars Weekends from May 18 – June 10, 2012, for fans celebrating the George Lucas films.
If you have young padawans that can’t wait to meet Chewbacca (“let the wookie win”) or a budding Jedi that dreams of a lightsaber battle with Darth Vader, this event is for you!
Adults that grew up with the Star Wars empire are equally excited about this special event with the opportunity to purchase unique merchandise and meet celebrities. I’m looking forward to attending my second Star Wars Weekend this year, and not only will I be posing for a picture with an Ewok, I’m going to snag one of these galatically-good snacks as well!
According to the DisneyParks Blog, there are some fun treats awaiting hungry Star Wars fans! My 12-year old son just told me that he likes “all of them,” but he’s headed for the Darth cupcake first.
Darth Vader Cupcake
A special chocolate cupcake featuring Darth Vader will be available for $4.99 at Darth’s Mall, ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co., Pizza Planet, and Starring Rolls Cafe.
This is pretty much the regular chocolate, peanut butter cupcake with a Darth head stuck in it, but we’re not complaining! Also, it’s definitely more ornate than last year’s version! “It is useless to resist” the power of the Darth cupcake!
Churro Bucket
Loyal droid R2D2 features his own bucket of churros with chocolate dipping sauce. Get yours at the Herbie’s Cart, Fantasmic!, and the churro cart in front of The Great Movie Ride.
Kids’ Power Pack OR Corn Dog Meal
The kids’ power pack will keep your kids rolling along just like R2D2. Get your savory snack at Pizza Planet, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co, ABC Commissary, Catalina Eddie’s, Fairfax Fare, or Rosie’s All-American Café.
Or opt for a corn dog and chips at Herbie’s Cart.
Souvenir Cups
R2D2 serves up drinks just like on Jabba’s sail barge!
R2-D2 souvenir cups hold delicious frozen lemonade (Anaheim Produce), a tasty shake (Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner, 50’s Prime Time Café), and a hot fudge sundae (Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant).
I can’t wait to hear the reviews on these! Let us know what YOU find at Star Wars weekends this year! 🙂
Are you attending Star Wars Weekends? Which snack will you munch on while watching the stormtroopers parade through the park?
JoAnn says
I won’t be there. If I were, I want the R2D2 milkshake.
Pam Shaw says
Can you get the cupcake in downtown disney?
AJ says
JoAnn — I think I’d go for the frozen lemonade, but I’ll share yours! 😉
Pam Shaw — Sadly I think these are just in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends.
Jana says
Do you know if these are there only on the weekends, or throughout the week too? And are they on the dining plan as snack credits?
Alan says
I wonder how the R2D2 mug would go with a frosty cold beer.
AJ says
Jana — I’m pretty sure you can find them during the week as well. And at least the cupcake is a snack credit; not sure about the drinks. The kids pack and corn dog are probably not.
Alan — Ha ha! I’m pretty sure it would go well! 😉

I can’t wait to try these!! 18 more days for us. Get to go to my 1st Star Wars Weekend!!
Kim LaPaglia says
Theresa – I’m headed for the frozen lemonade! We’re counting down the days too. Enjoy your first SWW!

Tricia says
My boys will love those R2 mugs!
Olyvia says
How much are the churros? It looks so cute!
Niki M says
Just returned from SWW. Shared the Vader cupcake with my hubby. The chocolate peanut butter was soooooooo good!
Heather says
The Darth Vader cupcake is AMAZING, so yummy! I will say that I think they had quality control with those lightsabers on the cupcakes, lol. The first day, they only looked partly red, and some either didn’t have them or were broken off (they tried to give me one without it, but I asked for a different one, lol.) The second day, it was like they didn’t even try to make the lightsabers red, they were all just white. (Yes I had the cupcake 2 days in a row…calories don’t count at Disney, right?? ;)) I got them at Starring Rolls, so maybe it was better elsewhere. They were yummy no matter what, lol. I didn’t eat the chocolate Vader, lol, but my mom did and said the first day he was much more bitter than the second day.
I also got the R2D2 cup with a frozen lemonade. I wasn’t planning to, but when I ordered the lemonade, it somehow jumped into my hands, lol. As I walked out of the park, I had SO many people either ask me where I got it, or I overheard people pointing and talking about it. 😉
Heather says
Oh, and they were also selling the R2D2 with food in it inside the Darth Mall tent. I’m pretty sure it was the corn dogs one, but it could have been the churros?
Lexi says
Do you know if they still have this stuff
