We’ve had a great time sharing sneak peeks of many of the new dining locations opening soon in Disney California Adventure! Be sure to check out the great menu options at Flo’s V-8 Cafe, Sally’s Cozy Cone Motel, Carthay Circle Restaurant, Trolley Treats, and Clarabelle’s Ice Cream!
And one more of the places on Buena Vista Street I am really looking forward to is the Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe. Why? Because Disney California Adventure NEEDS a good counter service spot where one can grab a great sandwich and a STARBUCKS beverage!
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
At a recent media preview I was able to check out some of the items that will be served at the Cafe, and it looks like there will be some pretty tasty options…
Menu
I got some great photos of the dishes that will be served here at the Fiddler. The first thing I noticed about the menu, though, was that the items appeared to be very similar to what is being served over in Disneyland at the Jolly Holiday Bakery.
This is not a bad thing by any means; Jolly Holiday is fantastic! Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical will be serving a wide variety eats:
- Breakfast: Freshly baked pastries & cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches and wraps
- Lunch and Dinner: Hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and two daily soups

I don’t have the “official” names of the sandwiches pictured below, but some appear to be identical to the ones served over at Jolly Holiday.

Some of the pastries and treats also look familiar. I’ve had that chocolate Mickey Tart over at Jolly Holiday Bakery (it’s fantastic)! I can’t wait to try one of these fruit tarts.

I’m not sure what the “twist” pastry is, but it looks crispy, with cinnamon, and covered in powdered sugar, so I’m 100% in! Plus, notice the newsprint liners (also over at Jolly Holiday), so cute!

Starbucks Addition
Perhaps the most exciting thing at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe will be the addition of Starbucks to the Disneyland Resort. This will be the first of 6 planned locations in Disney parks.
Although the Starbucks menu will not be a “complete” menu, you will be able to get the most popular of drinks from the megabrand: coffees, Frappuccinos, & espresso. I myself am not a coffee drinker, but I know several Disney goers (including my husband) who are never satisfied with the current coffee drinks at the resort; so the addition of Starbucks is really a godsend for many of them.
I love that they have created a “collab” logo design on their cups (see it in the back there in the photo?). It’s not often that you see any other brand but Disney on a to-go cup!

Another quick trivia note: Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe is named for Walt Disney’s version of The Three Little pigs featured in his award wining Silly Symphony cartoon from 1933. Notice the photo of their “father” on the wall! HAHA!

I can’t wait to see the decor and set up at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe. I’m looking forward to having an affordable “healthier” dining option at DCA. I can’t wait to try some of the new salads.
I’m hoping that eating here once in a while might keep me from eating too many corn dogs over at Corn Dog Castle…

All of these options look fantastic. I can’t wait to try all of them. Of course, that could be bc I’m 2 days into a ridiculously strict self imposed diet for the DL Half Mar in Sept ugh!
Starbucks….no opinion since I don’t do coffee, but I know alot of people who will be over the moon about it. What I can’t wait for is Earl of Sandwich. It can’t get here soon enough and I’ll be breaking the diet that day for sure.
Love your blog bc Disney is such a huge food destination nowadays.

I think I’ll just huff and puff and blow the door down on that place! There’s sure to be plenty of pork on the menu (that salami sandwich might be tasty–it might even be Father)!

I wish the starbucks cups would have been the Starbucks lady with Mickey ears instead the crown.
AJ, I tried the twists on my last visit. They have 2 versions at Jolly Holiday: (1) cinnamon, and (2) raspberry almond. The raspberry almond was wonderful with great fruit and nut flavor and was actually much softer than I expected. It must have been really fresh! The cinnamon one was good, but much crustier. I prefer them softer. They were both good and HUGE! Recommend you try one next time!
The food looks great!
Anything other than NesCafe (which I believe may actually be part sawdust) is welcome, even if I need to pay more for it. A decent cup of coffee should be in the theme park eater’s Bill of Rights.
Besides, I need something to put in my Refillable Mug in the morning!
The cinnamon twist has been a mainstay for my family for years. The first thing we generally do upon entering Disneyland is head straight for the (now closed) Blue Ribbon bakery to get some espresso drinks and cinnamon twists.
I am glad to see the cinnamon twists are continuing on in DCA.

I believe the breakfast sandwiches that will be offered at the Pig Cafe will be the Starbucks breakfast items. I read some “insider” info that this was part of the agreement. Disney-based food items lunch and dinner. Also some Starbucks items – supposedly – as grab & go.

I’m going at the end of June and CAN’T WAIT. Got reservations at Carthay Circle Restaurant and am crossing my fingers I’ll be able to have Starbucks coffee after dinner. Agreed: times have changed and the average American knows what good coffee tastes like and feels poorly served when it’s not an option. I’ve kind of turned a blind eye to the terrible coffee Disney’s offered and am absolutely thrilled that there will be a better option. As long as the primary theme is Disney and Starbucks bows to that ~ which it appears they do ~ then I’m happy. After all, even though you can get McD’s french fries in Disneyland, you never see the Golden Arches there.
