Florida Local
Eating locally raised foods is a high priority for many consumers right now, and to celebrate this hot food trend, the Florida Local Marketplace offers fresh local fare with fun twists!
First up — the Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains, and Cilantro. This is a fan favorite already (I keep overhearing people say “where’s that ceviche?” when I’m wandering the festival)!
While the festival had ceviche a couple of years ago at a different booth, this option seems like a fresher take on the dish. I loved the addition of fried plantains!
Next, the White Corn Arepa with Mangalitsa Pork Rilette and Zellwood Sweet Corn Salad is an interesting dish. I didn’t love the texture of the
Arepa (too mushy for my taste — similar texture to a tamale), but the pork was fantastic! The corn salad offers a tang to the flavor profile, so be expecting it!
The Florida Orange Grove Key Limen wine is definitely my new favorite, though! I thought this sweet, fun flavor was top notch! Definitely heading back for more of this one!

I hate mushy tamales but when done right, tamales are goooooooooooooood! lol Thanks for posting these, I was wondering how they looked. Also a few years back, there was already a Florida Booth correct? I remember having Mango Wine from a local Florida winery. It was to die for. Anyone remember it? Was it even Mango Wine? Oh boy, I forgot but it was very delicious. And a arepe almost looks like a gordita to me.

I hate mushy tamales but when done right, they’re good. =) Back in 06, they had a similar booth with such an amazing mango wine!! I can’t wait to try this Key Limen from the same company that did the Mango Wine! http://www.laughingplace.com/Showpic.asp?filename=http://www.laughingplace.com/lp/lotion/pics/SS20060929-WDWFoodWineMenus/big/P4-0006.JPG&caption=Wild+and+Wonderful+Florida+Shrimp

The ceviche was one of my favorite dishes from the whole festival! It was so fresh and the flavors were crisp and clean.
