Thanks to reader Joe Barrett, we’ve got some fun seasonal pumpkin eats in Disney World to share!
Pumpkin Pancakes with Maple Pecan Butter
First up, these awesome Pumpkin Pancakes with Maple Pecan Butter from Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Resort. They look amazing!!
Kona often has seasonal pancakes, so be on the look-out. Remember the red velvet pancakes with cream cheese topping around Valentine’s Day this year?
Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes
Over at Boma in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, lucky guests will find these Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes! According to Joe, they have more of a pumpkin pie texture than a cheesecake texture, but they’re still delicious, and great for any pumpkin fan.
As always, many Disney restaurants and counter-service locations will feature specialty items this time of year! We even had pumpkin ice cream in our homemade ice cream sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom last year!
Check menus and get your taste buds ready for the holidays! And don’t forget to check out our newest e-Book — The DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays — for everything you need to know to save money, avoid crowds, and enjoy Disney World during the holidays.
Which specialty pumpkin treat would be your pick? Let us know in the comments below!?

Do we have any idea how long these pumpkin pancakes are going to be on Kona’s menu? Silly me booked a December vacation, so I’m probably out of luck. Alternatively, any knowledge about holiday themed pancakes?
If you couldn’t tell, breakfast is my weakness. 😀

Sean — Ha ha! I don’t know how long they’ll last; I would guess through Thanksgiving. Not sure about holiday themed pancakes, yet, but I’ll do my best to investigate next week when I’m in WDW! 🙂 Have an awesome trip!

I had the Pumpkin Pancakes last week and they were delicious. The pancake was light and fluffy with great pumpkin flavor but the highlight was the maple butter. Spreading a little on the pancake totally eliminated the need for syrup. And they’re great to share with Tonga Toast.

Darn wish we had ordered the pumpkin pancakes instead of the tonga toast. My best friend ordered the toast and I tried a bite. Despite loving bananas and cinnamon sugar, we were just not impressed with the tonga toast. Had a really weird flavor and texture. I did love their macadamia nut pancakes though so we’d probably like their pumpkin pancakes.

My husband *loves* the pumpkin fudge that appears in the parks around this time of year! 🙂

There are also pumpkin cupcakes with maple icing at Pizza Planet :]

Well, between the F&W festival and all this fall themed deliciousness, I think I know when my next trip is.

I just got back and had both the pumpkin pancakes and the pumpkin cupcake. Both are out of this world yummy! Kona is one of my favorite breakfast spots and I love getting the Big Kahuna with a different sort of pancake. Lucky for me I got to try the pumpkin ones this time. Talk about the ultimate sampler plate.
That cupcake though. Heaven. You really can’t go wrong with pumpkin.

I hope the pumpkin pancakes get offered at the Disneyland Resort. Sounds like they would be perfect for Storytellers to embrace this holiday season.

Just returned and had a wonderful Pumpkin Cheesecake at Cinderella’s Castle. Ordered the dessert sampler and wished i had just gotten the pumpkin cheesecake!

AJ did you check out the pumpkin cupcakes at boardwalk? They are a vanilla cake with a pumpkin pie-esque filling not sure about the buttercream… All I can say is AMAZING!!!!!!

Thank you so much, all, for your recommendations and suggestions! I have seen a couple more pumpkin treats since I arrived in WDW on Sunday (including those pretty pumpkin cupcakes at Boardwalk Bakery, and a pumpkin cupcake at Contempo Cafe)!! I imagine they’ll only be around until Thanksgiving, but at least we have a few days to indulge!!

We had a mini pumpkin tart on Thanksgiving at 50’s prime time cafe this past week and finally got to sample the pumpkin spice funnel cake at Epcot as well…wish we’d had more time to sample more!
