Well, it’s no secret around here that I love soup in Disney World!
It’s a filling treat, relatively healthy (well, compared to a cupcake or Mickey Bar, anyway), and pretty cheap most of the time!
And on a recent visit to Sunshine Seasons in Epcot’s The Land pavilion, I found another great option for those of us who are Disney soup-lovers. Here, you’ll often find two kinds of soup: one will always be the Vegetable Barley Soup (vegetarian), and the other will be a seasonal soup!
I decided to try the Vegetable Barley Soup…
Since Sunshine Seasons is a cafeteria-style restaurant, simply ask the cast member to dish up a bowl for you at the soup station!
As you can see, it’s served with a crisp bread accompaniment — just enough for dipping! The soup is chock full of veggies, and the broth (unlike some vegetable broth) was very flavorful.
While you might not expect soup to be a #1 Disney snack, sometimes it’s really nice to complement your sugary eats with some hearty and savory sustenance.
The soup is served hot (not “kinda warm” as you can get with some counter-service spots), and really hits the spot on those chilly or rainy Orlando days! It’s the perfect mid-afternoon snack — keeps you going for a couple more hours of attractions, but won’t fill you up too much for dinner.
Overall, I can highly recommend stopping into Sunshine Seasons for a soup break. Sometimes it’s just what you’re looking for in the middle of a week-long vacation where you’ve been eating a few too many sweet treats!
Do you have a favorite soup in Disney World? Let me know and I’ll add it to my must-try list!

I love soup everyday, all year and especially in the parks. I was so happy to find some in each park and love Sunshine Seasons. Their soups seems healthier and not overly salty. I only wish soup was offered all day. I love soup for breakfast. Healthier and easier on the stomach than most breakfast foods.

I did exactly this one December day two years ago. Nice, hearty, and warmed me up. Most anything at SS is a good deal.

I had the crab soup at Boma this year and it was the most amazing soup! Perfect balance of creamy and fishy without being too rich. If you haven’t had it you must try it, I drove my family mad going on about it for days afterwards!
