Fun news for food TV lovers — celebrity chef, Emeril Lagasse, has kicked off his brand new show, “Emeril’s Florida,” with a focus on Orlando restaurants.
Featured in the show are the Ravenous Pig (one of my favorites!), ICEBAR Orlando, Emeril’s Orlando, Vines Grille & Wine Bar, and the pastry chef from Rosen Shingle Creek. The show premier aired Sunday, January 6, at 10:30am.
Emeril’s Florida is brought to viewers via the partnership of Visit Orlando, VISIT FLORIDA, and Chef Emeril Lagasse. Focusing on wonderful Florida destinations and unique dining opportunities, the show airs on the Cooking Channel (cookingchanneltv.com).
“With two restaurants in Orlando, it is only natural that Chef Emeril Lagasse selects our city to kick off this new show,” said Danielle Courtenay, chief marketing officer of Visit Orlando. “The culinary scene in Orlando is exploding and these new unique restaurants are just a small sample of the growth in our culinary scene. Orlando’s nightlife and entertainment includes unique pubs and trendy shows for all.”

I can’t believe nobody suggested Lee & Rick’s Oyster Bar to Emeril while he was here. He would have loved it!

Emeril NEEDS to come to Funky Monkey Wine Company on a Friday night during the Vegas Style Drag Show!

We always loved Emeril’s Orlando! The only thing I didn’t like about it was that it was at Universal’s City Walk. 🙁
We feel less reason to spend time at Emeril’s in Orlando now that we live within 25 miles of the Sands Casino and Hotel in Bethlehem, PA. There, Emeril has three restaurants: Emeril’s Chop House ($$$$$), Emeril’s Italian Table ($$$) and Burgers and More by Emeril ($).
We’ve also experienced all of Emeri’s restaurants in New Orleans. Each is a unique experience! The common threads are fantastic ingredients skillfully prepared and impecable service! That said, my favorite celebrity chef restaurant on earth, is Todd English’s bluezoo at the Walt Disney Dolphin on Crescent Lake. 😉

Wow, thank you for the heads-up! I can’t believe I hadn’t heard about this yet. Ravenous Pig is one of my all-time favorites, so they were very deserving of being featured in the premiere. I am hopeful that Emeril will get out there in the communities he features and profile some of the hidden local treasures that may be off the beaten path for visitors.
We’ve visited both of Emeril’s Orlando restaurants and liked them both, but I think we were more impressed with our overall dining experience at the main Emeril’s location at CityWalk than with Tchoup-Tchoup at the Royal Pacific Resort. We’ve only dined at Tchoup-Tchoup once, though, so perhaps we need to give them another shot.
@Janet – Couldn’t agree more about bluezoo! Another one of my faves!

Ah, this makes sense now. We had a couple food trucks set up at our Pioneer Day event down in Kissimmee in November, and Emeril stopped by with his camera crew and asked if he could film! I was indoors and missed this entire encounter, but now I’m curious if the food trucks will be in an episode!
