JennM says
Wow! Look at those kids’ menu selections! Lamb chops with mint jelly? Sole? If ONLY today’s menus featured these kinds of real foods for kids!
Prof. Brainard says
Haha! I love these old menus from the parks! I was also thinking the same thing as JennM regarding the choices. Of course, in the 1950s, most parents followed a policy of “kids eat what they’re told, or they don’t eat.” I suppose it seems draconian to the current indulgent parenting mindset, but I’m grateful now for it. It meant I tried many different foods and that I learned to like most of them.
AJ says
JennB and Prof. Brainard — I always love looking at the old menus — not only for prices but also to see the differences between “kid foods” then and now! I always remember having liver and onions as one of our cafeteria meals in kindergarten…I doubt that would happen today!
Prof. Brainard says
LOL! Nothing builds character in an 6-year-old like facing down a steaming plate of liver and onions!
William Wells says
AJ,
Have you ever had a Eggs Benidict Throwdown or Crawl? lot of Resorts make them but different at each one. WildernessLodge, Grand Floridian, The Contempory and Polynesian.
I love Egg Benidict but at Wlat Disney World they make them different than at Steakhouse 55 in Disneyland.
