We recently shared some of our favorite Disney food kiosks, and this was definitely one of the contenders! There is so much culinary awesomeness these days in Epcot’s France Pavilion.
There are, of course, the table service restaurants — the bistro-esque Chefs de France and the more upscale Monsieur Paul. And no trip through this part of World Showcase is complete without at least one stop by Les Halles, the new boulangerie patisserie in the back of the pavilion.
And now that the long-awaited L’Artisan des Glaces is open in the former bakery space, the offerings are pretty robust. You can find something for every meal of the day here!
But, if you can believe it, there are even more fun food finds awaiting you along the main thoroughfare within the dark green kiosks of France.
Here, you can get grown up slushies, Champagne, and one of my favorite French street foods, Crêpes!
Disney World Crêpes
The très thin, tender, pancake-like creations are available here in some traditional flavors. But there are also some fun and super indulgent twists, like crêpes and ice cream.
That’s the treat we were after today…
If you need a beverage, you’ll also find some espresso drinks here as well as, well, beer. Because everyone knows what a perfect pairing crêpes and beer are. 🙂
One of the best part of this little kiosk is that you get a show while you wait! Inside the stand, you can see the crêpe griddle, where the thin batter is ladled and worked to form the basis for your treat. A container of Strawberry Preserves stands at the ready for saucing.
A while back, we made a stop here and just happened to capture the complete crêpe-making process from start to finish.
With very little arranging, I ended up with this cute crêpe flip book of photos! Behold, the making of both chocolate and sugar crêpes! YUM!
I was after something with a little more flair, though. I’d never tried the super decadent ice cream crepes, and I knew it was time to give them a whirl!
The ice cream crepes start out with a basic sugar crêpe. I love how they meticulously shake the sugar onto the top in a neat design of lines.
Next, after placing the folded, sugared crêpe on the plate, they add a portion of super-creamy, soft-serve ice cream.
This was SERIOUSLY an amazing treat! I had no idea soft-serve ice cream could taste so good. The light, still-warm crepe coupled with that icy-cold, rich ice cream is out of this world! Have you guys tried this?! It might be even better if you drizzle some of that nutella on it…
You can see how perfectly golden and tender the crêpes are here in this close up. It’s like a slightly different take on a waffle cone. 🙂
I am so glad that Disney gives me a seemingly endless array of ways to eat ice cream!
I definitely recommend that you stop by the Crêpe Stand in Epcot’s France if you’re looking for a fun and interesting sweet snack. And with options to choose from like chocolate, strawberry, and plain sugar, it would be fun for a group to get one of each and share! (Now, if I could just get them to offer one with CHEESE…) 🙂

This is my 9 year old son’s favourite booth in Epcot. He loves the strawberry crepe.

My boyfriend and I got these crepes last summer when we visited Disney World together for the first time. I loved how light and airy they were! Makes me wish I could go back and get some now…. yum….

maybe AJ can clarify.
I don’t know how true it is: on a podcast I heard the crepes are pre-made and are just warmed up on the grill.
Kate says
This crepe was not good. I make better crepes at home. So sad because I LOVE crepes. My grandma used to make skinny ones for me when I was little.
AJ says
Tracey — Awesome!
Christina — They’re so delicious! 🙂
Will — I think I’ve seen it done both ways, but I could be misremembering. Either way, they’re still delicious!
Kate — So sorry you didn’t enjoy. Thanks for the review!

I’ve never had the crepes, but it’s certainly something for a future list. The strawberry sounds very good.

Kate, I wonder if you hit at an off time. I make good crepes, love good crepes, and these have always been delicious for me.

I’ve never had a crepe – I think I might be missing out on something! I guess my only option is to add this to the list for September!

I had the chocolate crepe many years ago and was very disappointed. It was a crepe with hersery chocolate syrup (or very similiar) poured over it. The crepe itself was good but REALLY just plain chocolate syrup?! I wonder if I should give them another try. The ice cream one sounds good.

Had these crepes the first time I visited Disney. I was so looking forward to them, but
they were not made there. Not the way a crepe should be……
It’s not really hard to make a crepe, they have the griddle. I wish it was fresh…
Maybe that has changed and I am not aware. I would try it again if they made them fresh.
