PLEASE NOTE:
If you’re coming to this article from another website that linked to it, be aware that Candy Corn soft serve is still available at the Magic Kingdom (get it at Auntie Gravity’s all day, not just during the party), but it is primarily vanilla flavored. The orange is slightly candy corn flavored, but gets overpowered by the vanilla. If you’d like to see what goodies are available at the Halloween Party this year, please take a look at this Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Treats post and this video. Thanks!

The Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has returned to the Magic Kingdom. On select nights through November 1, 2013, this fall event at Walt Disney World offers exclusive fun to ticketed guests. DFB Author Wendy takes us on a tour of this year’s party treats…
Trick or Treat?! As fellow Disney Food Fans, I’m guessing you are definitely after the TREATS! And guests at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party have an extra assortment to choose from, exclusive to the Party!
Upon entering the Magic Kingdom, Party guests are presented with a Trick-or-Treat bag and a park map detailing special events of the evening, including designated Treat spots to put those bags to use.
This park map is your key to finding the exclusive goodies! You’ll find the list of stops on the back.
Let’s have a taste!
First stop: Storybook Treats in Fantasyland!
This little spot specializes in soft serve ice cream concoctions, so it makes sense that this is the home of Candy Corn Soft Serve.
Your choice of cup or cone of blended orange and vanilla soft serve comes sprinkled with crushed pieces of (what else?) Candy Corn!
The sign says “Vanilla Soft Serve,” but the orange ice cream definitely lends a subtle creamsicle taste that was really enjoyable!
People typically fall into one of two camps: there are Candy Corn People, and there are Non-Candy Corn people. I am a Non-Candy Corn person (just not a fan of the texture), so I wasn’t especially excited by this offering. However, the ice cream itself was so yummy, and the candy corn lent it such festivity that I gave this one a thumbs-up!
Next stop: Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland!
A word of caution: you may want to hold off before scrolling down your screen and brace yourself, because what you’re about to see is VERY. SCARY.
Okay, not really… it’s just cute! Gaston’s is serving up Ghost Cupcakes!
This vanilla cupcake is topped with fluffy marshmallow-flavored frosting with a dusting of chocolate cookie crumbs. The star of the show is the“ghost” on top, formed out of white fondant wrapped around a marshmallow.
The cake was moist and the frosting was light and flavorful. This is just a good, basic cupcake featuring marshmallow for a festive twist.
The only flavor I didn’t particularly enjoy was that of the fondant. It was overly sweet for my tastes… and I favor sweets! But since the fondant was really about bringing our ghost friend to life (or after-life, as the case may be 😉 ), I didn’t really mind.
Speaking of cupcakes, let’s head next to Main Street Bakery!
Guests can choose a vanilla Candy Corn Cupcake (candy corn in theme, not in flavor), or a chocolate Mummy Cupcake.
The Candy Corn Cupcakes are adorable, but don’t have any particular candy corn flavor.
Check out this cool mummy! I love the details in the frosting design.
Our last stop is Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square.
Home of the Haunted Mansion, Liberty Square just SCREAMS Halloween, doesn’t it? (Pun intended!) This autumnal arrangement of jack-o-lanterns (with a nod to Ichabod Crane) lets you know that Fall has come to Sleepy Hollow.
Sleepy Hollow is known for funnel cakes and, more recently, waffle sandwiches. The Spiced Pumpkin Waffle Sundae for the Halloween Party fits right in!
Your Spiced Pumpkin Waffle comes dusted in powdered sugar with a HUGE helping of vanilla soft serve decorated with all manner of ghosts, pumpkins, and bats (umm… in sprinkle form, that is!).
I have to say: I would get this thing again for the smell alone – that was my favorite part! Even if you don’t plan to purchase this treat, please make a note to stroll by Sleepy Hollow for a sniff. The pumpkin spice scent is heavenly, and lends a perfect fall atmosphere to the Party experience, even on a warm Orlando evening.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t show you one more friend who came along for the Party.
This year’s Souvenir Popcorn Bucket features Mickey Mouse as one of the Haunted Mansion’s Hitchhiking Ghosts!
That Mouse sure knows how to put on a Party!
If you’re able to attend this year, I hope you have a Spooktacular time! (Sorry… couldn’t resist ;)!)

Those cupcakes are lacking in frosting. But then, I tend to say that about most cupcakes! 😉
I desperately want one of those pumpkin waffles. Maybe they’ll stick around for the holiday season? 😀
Niki M says
Is that pumpkin waffle sundae only available during the party or is it a seasonal item I might be able to try during the day at MK? We haven’t decided if we want to splurge on party tickets this trip since we’ve done it before, but you convinced me I need that waffle sundae!
Joshua says
My inner fat kid is running around in circles right now.
JillC LI says
Don’t forget the green soft-serve ice cream at Aloha Isle during the Halloween Party!
Angelina says
I hope they have something like the pumpkin waffle at DLR. I’ll be there in just over a month and plan to do a pumpkin/fall flavors crawl. Yumm!
Dana says
I had no idea they did special treats for the Halloween Party (but then again, last year was my first time going to it)! I am ridiculously excited for the popcorn bucket – I got a Mickey ghost one last year, and I need to get this one this year!!!
MG says
Wait a second. Thats not Mickey as a Hitchhiking ghost, That is Mickey as the Hatbox Ghost (he even has the hatbox in his hand)!
Wendy says
Jenn–ooh, with any luck!
Niki — I think they are just available for the Party, but I should be heading back to MK during regular park hours soon, and if I see it available, I’ll comment again here so you can know!
Joshua — Ha :)!
Angelina — that sounds like a blast! Have a great trip!
Dana — I’m new to the Party, too :). The bucket is adorable!!

I almost booked a plane ticket after staring inexplicably at the Candy Corn Cupcake from MSB. That’s enough to make me cross the Atlantic. Wendy – have you had one? Please recount, in painstaking detail, how delicious it is?
Just as a side question – guys, what is candy corn? We don’t have it in England and even though I’ve been to America a zillion times I’ve never had it?! But it looks so cute!
Also, the cute factor of those ghost cupcakes just went off the meter.
Jessica Frederick says
Are you able to use the dining plan on these snacks?
Essie says
Oh, what a cute popcorn bucket. Alas, I’m not going to the party until next year; oh well, that’s something wonderful to look forward to! Thanks for the fun article.
Irene Imboden says
So, you have to buy tickets for the Not So Scary Party and also buy the treats?
Wendy says
MG – I hadn’t thought of that… I agreed with him as a Hitchhiking ghost when I spoke with the Cast Member, because his hat and hair length reminds me exactly of the middle-height ghost. But what I’m noticing now more that you mention that is the presence of the cane… Hmm…
Christopher J – sadly, I can only vouch for the adorableness of the candy corn cupcake, and not the deliciousness of it ;). I went with the Mummy cupcake (since it was chocolate, and I’d already had a vanilla Ghost cupcake at Gaston’s). Now that WAS delicious, if that helps!
Candy corn is a very, very sweet sugar confection made with wax, which is what I don’t like about it (I just never feel like one should eat wax — although many people think one shouldn’t eat fondant, which I did ;). Some people here live for candy corn, though… and you’re right—it is cute! You can find it mostly in October around Halloween, but it’s creeping into many stores as early as September…
Jessica – to my knowledge, only the Candy Corn and Mummy cupcakes at Main Street Bakery are on the Dining Plan. Unfortunately I won’t be attending the party again to confirm, but I’d recommend asking just in case!
Essie—One year from now this shall all be yours ;)!
Pamela says
Love the popcorn bucket !! Got mine on Friday the 13th!!!!
Bridgette says
What’s with the price of cupcakes skyrocketing these days? Those MSB cupcakes were $5.19??? Even $4.99 seems a bit steep compared to the prices ovr the last few years. Is this across the parks or are the prices still reasonable outside of the MNSSHP?
marcellina says
We are still on the fence about going to MNSSHP this year but this thread is making me want to go! I especially think the ghost cupcake is cute!
Nichole says
I got my Mickey bucket- & in my opinion, he’s not a Hitchhiking ghost, he’s definitely the Hatbox ghost of Disney lore. I tried the candy corn soft serve, which was good as well, but not too sweet. I also got the pumpkin waffle, which was just basically a lot of the powder & sugar with pumpkin flavors on top of the waffle sundae. All in all pretty tasty snacks, but there was some confusion as to where the bucket was sold when I asked, so I was sent to Liberty Square, and then back to Main Street where it was sold. Instead of a short line I ended up wasting 35 minutes of the party in line or looking for the bucket :-(. Otherwise I had a blast and got my picture with the hearse ghost in front of the Mansion, which is a special photo op for the parties.
Colleen says
I’m going tonight, and can’t wait to try the pumpkin spice waffle sundae! You can never go wrong with pumpkin-flavored anything!
Miss LC says
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ halloween at magic kingdom!!!
Kim M says
We are heading there in an hour. Thanks for the info … now I will be able to keep my eyes out for all of the treats although I cant afford to try them all! I will be purchasing the popcorn bucket and candy corn cupcake! I just wish FL weather wasn’t so hot but the last night its been slightly cooler as the sun goes down. 🙂
Pam says
I wish I had known about this before I went to my first-ever Not So Scary party on Oct. 28. The Pumpkin Waffle Sundae would have been a must! And everything was so crowded,
I did not even go inside the Bakery. The candy treats were very good though, but I did not stop any of the places where I might have seen special bakery treats. Guess I’ll have to make up for it at Christmas time!
