Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World serves up a breakfast buffet with “character” each morning. Welcome back guest chef Carol E. with a Do It Yourself Recipe for Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Pizza!
One of my favorite Disney pictures ever taken took place at a meal we had at Chef Mickey’s Restaurant inside the Contemporary Resort.
In our pictures, Pluto literally was eating my husband and Dale was fluffing up my hair…the looks on our faces were priceless. (Editor’s Note: Chip ‘n Dale are no longer appearing at Chef Mickey’s.)
This meal was definitely worth the price of admission thanks to all of our wonderful pictures and time that we got to spend with our favorite Disney friends! It’s also one of the rare places that you can actually get your picture taken with Mickey and Minnie together!
Kids love this place, because not only are Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald Duck there to hang out with you, but the buffet is filled with a ton of kid friendly favorites!
Breakfast is also a fun time to enjoy this unique restaurant! If you’ve been, you know one of the famous dishes on the buffet during breakfast with Mickey and friends is the classic Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Pizza! The creaminess of the eggs and the blend of cheeses make you feel like you are eating cheese fondue on a pizza. While kids love this dish, it also can be an adult favorite, too.
Well, I’m excited to tell you that Disney has shared this amazing recipe in the Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbook! So you can recreate this classic dish at home anytime you want! Seriously, it’s about a 5 minute prep time and 12 minute cook time in the oven, and you are enjoying a Disney breakfast.
So let’s get started!
Ingredients
-One 12-inch precooked pizza shell
-1/2 cup coarsely grated mozzarella cheese
-1/2 cup coarsely grated provolone cheese
-1 cup coarsely grated cheddar cheese
-2 large eggs
-1/4 cup heavy cream
-1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
-Pinch of freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2: Place the pizza crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet.
Step 3: In a medium bowl, blend the mozzarella, provolone, and cheddar cheeses.
Step 4: In another small bowl, add in the heavy cream.
Add eggs.
Add salt and pepper.
With a fork, beat together the eggs and combine ingredients:
Step 5: Add egg mixture to your blended cheeses and mix together with fork.
Step 6: Immediately, to avoid clumping, transfer the cheese mixture to the pizza shell and spread evenly around the crust.
Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Step 8: Cut into pizza slices and serve hot!
Enjoy! 🙂
I just want to take a moment to point out my cute lil Mickey and Minnie pizza by the slice dishes! This recipe gave me the perfect reason to use them!;)
Ok, so back to the recipe! See, I told you this was seriously an easy recipe to make! Now, to get creative! I made this pizza exactly how the recipe told me to make it, but don’t be afraid to add to it…it’s a breakfast pizza, so you could easily make this “Chef Mickey’s sausage, egg, and cheese,” or “bacon, egg, and cheese” pizza; or better yet, both — “bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese” pizza! Just make sure all of your meats are cooked before you add them to this pizza. You would add the cooked meats to the top of the cheese mixture before it goes into the oven.
With summer coming to an end, this is a great dish to make for the kids as they head off to school. Better than any frozen waffle or cereal you can throw in front of them. And it’s a great breakfast to take on the go. All you need to give them is a napkin and a slice and they’ve got the perfect homemade, hearty breakfast to bring off to school. And you, mom or dad, will be a hero because your kids will LOVE telling their friends that their mom made them pizza for breakfast! 😉
A Few Lessons I Learned
As with all recipes, you usually find helpful ways to make it easier to make them. This section is filled with helpful hints that I learned while making this recipe and doing research on some of the ingredients! I hope they help you, too!
-Feel free to buy packaged shredded cheese, but make sure you buy the thick shredded cheese, not the fancy shredded.
-I couldn’t find shredded provolone anywhere, so I went to the deli and bought a 1/4 lb block of provolone to shred myself.
-I said this above, but wanted to point out again that if you do decide to get creative by adding bacon or breakfast sausage to your pizza, make sure the meat is cooked ahead of time before adding to this recipe.
I’d love to hear how this dish turns out for you! I also want to hear about your favorite Disney character meal memories and dishes! If you have a second, share your stories in the comment section below!

I like your pictures! This is a little off topic but, I was at Chef Mickey’s this past September and Mickey and Minnie did NOT come out together! The characters came out one at a time and Chip and Dale were not there. Plus, there was no one with the character to take our (me and hubby) picture together! We went to the Crystal Palace earlier that week and Pooh Bear and friends had an assistant with them to take the pictures. This was my first time at a character breakfast. Maybe it was because we went to the Breakfast buffet around 11am?

Thanks for this recipe! We have a rare break this Saturday morning as neither of my boys have a football game. It will be the perfect morning for our Mickey fix. I bet I have some extra Disney parks napkins hidden somewhere too.

I got those pizza plates when I went in October. After looking at them every trip since 2008, I really didn’t have a choice.
Dani says
Since when are Chip and Dale at Chef Mickeys?!
Kim says
Hi Dani,
Chip ‘n Dale appeared there in the early 2000s. I remember taking my son there in 2002 when Chip n’ Dale both visited our table. I’ve noted in the post that they no longer appear at Chef Mickey’s. Thanks for the heads up! 😉

Phew! We live up the street and I honestly started looking for a breakfast res in the next week so I could go see them lol

I’d love the recipe for the breakfast pizza that was served at Food and Fun center at the Contemporary in the 90’s ?
Edgar says
Ra, how does this recipe differ from the one you remember in the food and fun center? This is THE Chef Mickey’s breakfast pizza. I worked there during the nineties, I did work some shifts at the Food and fun center but never during breakfast. I miss the 8 player Mario Kart game like crazy.
Definitely use thick grated cheese. I make the mistake of using finely shredded cheese one and it lead to a gooey avalanche.
