You know that here at DFB we’re very, VERY fond of sampling snacks in the Disney parks and resorts!
And today we’re excited to show you a few more of our favorites — salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy, or a cross between!
We’re highlighting one of our classic food crawls! These little adventures are a great way to mark off some popular foods, all while touring the park at the same time!
And no worries — if you love this one, we have seven more food crawls for you to tackle in our new DFB Guide to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom Snacks! I hope you’re hungry…let’s go!
Chocolate Peanut Butter or Chocolate Butterfinger Cupcake
Begin with a Disney Food Blog Favorite from way back — Cupcakes!
Once you enter the park, walk straight down Hollywood Boulevard and start your day with a cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe. For the DFB Favorites Crawl, we recommend that you stick with one of two classic choices: the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake, or the Butterfinger Cupcake.
If you choose the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake, be forewarned: this one is for avowed chocoholics, or fans of that crazy amazing chocolate peanut butter combo. It’s chocolate with more chocolate with the cake and chocolate curls on top. But then, it’s crowned and filled with the most amazing chocolate peanut butter frosting! You have to taste it to believe it!
Or, you can opt for the One That Started It All, the Original “You Won’t Believe This!” snack — the Butterfinger Cupcake.
A chocolate cupcake, filled with fudgy chocolate frosting, and piled high with vanilla buttercream that’s covered in Butterfinger crumbs…yes. You’d better have back up if you plan to tackle this.
This one is for the frosting fans. And I know I’m not the only one.
And yes, you can have these memorable treats for breakfast! They pair equally well with coffee, tea, or a giant glass of ice cold milk! (Or diet coke. I don’t judge.)
Carrot Cake Cookie
Next, make your way over to Writer’s Stop.
This little book shop is easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. It’s one of my favorite spots to chill and relax a bit between attractions when I’m in Studios. But another claim to my Hollywood Studios affections is the Carrot Cake Cookie. It’s a show-stopper, and probably my favorite treat in the whole park.
Two pillowy carrot cake cookies are sandwiched together by sugary-sweet cream cheese frosting — one of the best things to eat, ever, in my opinion.
Cake, cookie, or whoopie pie — whatever you’d like to call it, the carrot cake cookie is outrageously good.
Jalapeno Cheese-stuffed Pretzel
By this point, you’re probably ready for a drop (or three) on Tower of Terror. But before you head for the Twilight Zone, it’s time for something a little savory.
Heading down the Streets of America, you’ll find Pretzel Garden. This little stand is home to a plethora of pretzel delights, including the sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel. But we suggest the famous Jalapeno Cheese-stuffed Pretzel for a break from the sweets.
The creamy cheese filling offers a mild kick from chunks of jalepeno that’s not too wicked but definitely discernible! It’s a great option to break up the parade of sweet eats.
Mac & Cheese Hot Dog
After that Toy Story Mania Fastpass, stroll over to Sunset Boulevard for your lunch time snack.
Fairfax Fare showcases gourmet hot dogs and other fast food eats. And of all the options here, we’re giving rave reviews to the Mac & Cheese Hot Dog.
The creamy mac and cheese meet the salty-smokiness of the hot dog head-on for a match that’s made in heaven. And with the side dish right on top of your dog, you can probably even skip the chips!
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
If you’re still with me at this point, you’ve done admirably, my snack-loving friends.
For the grand finale, end up at Hollywood Scoops. This is a terrific little spot for scoring a hand-scooped ice cream cone or sundae. But we’re here for a DFB favorite…and a Disney World classic!
Order the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. It’s an enormous amount of ice cream suspended between two huge cookies! It’s perfection in a frosty dessert, and one of my favorites of all time.
It’s worthy of a standing ovation — and so are you for finishing this delicious DFB challenge! Way to go!!

Love all of these….except the carrot cake cookie. There must be something wrong with me, right? I love carrot cake. Last time I was at Writer’s Stop the cast member said she didn’t get it either, but mentioned it was Rachel Ray’s favorite (yum-o…sigh) but had me try what I think was a chocolate chip cookie…or was it chunk? She told me it had 3 types of chocolate in it. Well, she was right….I loved it.
As for the chocolate PB cupcake, OMG….it’s even more enjoyable when chocolate Vader and a light saber perch on this mound of holy mouth explosion during Star Wars Weekends!
Mac N Cheese Hot Dog: Love, but seriously, can we get some hot dog buns that aren’t overly dry and clunky at Fairfax Fare? I just keep coming back for it thinking I’m going to get a fresh bun like the first time I enjoyed it, only to be let down.

Chrissy – I think the carrot cake cookie lovers (I’m definitely one!) love it so much not as much for the carrot cake, as for the enormous amount of cream cheese frosting in the middle. I can see where some might find the balance too far gone. But I can’t get enough cream cheese frosting so I’m all over it!
Eileen Harris says
Oh darn, why did they have to put the truffle oil in the macaroni and cheese dog. I’m allergic to mushrooms. Plus we need more nut free deserts.
Essie says
This is def good Disney food, but I can never again go to DHS and not get a Cappuccino cupcake to eat (and a couple to take home)!
Christine says
You forgot the good stuff at Min & Bills! The sausage and peppers roll is so good!
Stephanie says
These are all my favorites! I feel like you read my mind. Don’t change a thing. This crawl is perfect!
Bryan Irrera says
I can’t speak for the quality at the Florida “Wa-Wa”s , but the Jalapeno Cheese stuffed pretzels up here in Greater Philadelphia are awesome. I suggest trying them there while you are out and about…

Don’t forget “The King” cupcake at Pop Century resort!! Chocolate cupcake, banana filling, peanut butter frosting, with candied bacon sprinkles!! Da-voon!!!
