Recently we visited the newly reopened End Zone Food Court at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort. Now we’re back to review one of the new features on the menu: the Create-Your-Own Burger Bar!
Atmosphere
After a lengthy refurbishment, the new space was revealed! Featuring earth tones and a clean, fresh design, the food court maintains its fun sports theme.
While the theme is found in more subtle details now than it was previously, the element of fun is still very much present in the basketball court walls and the Disney characters who’ve joined in the mix!
Eats
Along with the new space came a revamped menu! You can still find standbys such as pizza, hot dogs, and the Best Chicken Breast Nuggets on Earth (*not the actual name, just my opinion 😉 ).
Today, though, we’re excited to share a review of one of the newest features in the food court: the Create-Your-Own Burger Bar!
First, guests have their choice of beef or chicken for their customized burger. (A Veggie Burger is available at this station as well.)
Next, we’re on to the toppings!
Guests can select from sautéed mushrooms, bacon, onion petals, roasted red peppers, and caramelized onions. I was asked if I’d like cheese on my burger as well, though it’s not listed on the “Toppings” sign.
Finally, we top our creation with a creative sauce! Options are: BBQ, Wing Sauce, “Garlic Goodness,” and Chimichurri Mayo.
By the way, more traditional accompaniments and condiments are still available near the Beverage Station (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and the like).
So, what did I walk away with? Introducing the Chicken Burger with Onion Petals and Bacon, topped with Garlic Goodness!
Typically I would’ve gone with the beef burger, but one of the managers highly recommended the chicken, so I decided to give it a go. I’m glad I went with the recommendation! The herbs in the chicken were unique and flavorful and it was a great change of pace.
I love caramelized onion on a burger (and practically anything else), but the onion petals looked so good that I couldn’t resist. Fortunately, my hunch was right. The flavor of the breading was great – just zesty enough, but it was the crunchy texture that really stood out in the mix.
And, of course, there is bacon. ‘Nuff said.
The sauce was probably the toughest choice to make, since a couple of the selections are fairly unique. I was torn between Garlic Goodness and the Chimichurri Mayo. Fortunately, you can sample the choices. Here is my sample of Garlic Goodness.
I was expecting a cream base of some sort, though obviously that’s not the case. But what was most surprising was the amount of hot spice in the sauce – it carries a kick, which is why I ultimately chose it.
Altogether, this thing ended up pretty great! It was fresh, flavorful, and fun. My combo ended up really working together (and I’m sure the options were picked so each would be complementary to the others, no matter what the combination).
A note on my side dish: fries are available as a side, of course, but I went with the Cucumber Salad for a little something different on this day of new things :).
As you can see, it’s a basic slaw; however, it has less cabbage and more cucumber with a nice, mild dill flavor in the dressing. The fact that the dressing isn’t mayo-based helps to keep it fresh and light.
The “Create-Your-Own” trend is spreading in Disney Resort food courts, and this is a very good thing! Create-Your-Own Pasta has been a hit in several eateries, including the Art if Animation’s Landscape of Flavors, Riverside Mill at Port Orleans Riverside, and the Grand Floridian’s Gasparilla Grill. And now it’s expanded to End Zone as well!
Similar to the other locations, you choose your preferred pasta and sauce, then select a protein. The sauce at End Zone is already matched with a specific pasta (although I did notice that the Alfredo and marinara sauces at End Zone are in their own pots, so I’m guessing alternate requests can be made). The End Zone, however, wins the prize for most unique protein choices: Panko Chicken, Meatballs, or Italian Sausage. (Second place goes to Gasparilla Grill, which has a vegan protein option!)
Finally, I want to provide a further glance at that Gelato Bar we mentioned previously, so you can check out the flavors: Peppermint, Nutella (tried it – YUM!), Chocolate, Vanilla, Raspberry Sorbet, and Mango Sorbet!
I believe the Peppermint was featured just for the holiday season, but I’ll be sure to stop by the End Zone Gelato Bar again to confirm if that’s indeed the case… strictly for research purposes, of course ;).
Overall
The new End Zone is a great place to grab some customized meals or favorite standbys. It appears they’ve taken some of the menu features that make the Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation Resort such a hit, but still kept the End Zone’s own feel with a new, fresh makeover. The openness of the space helps it feel a little more like a peaceful respite, and the two Create-Your-Own options really make it a place you could come back to every day of your trip and enjoy something different.
Across the board, it seems like a home run for the End Zone!
What kind of burger would you build at the End Zone? Please let us know with a comment!

I can’t wait to try this! The renovation looks great! We love stopping at the value food courts for a meal when we stay at Bonnet Creek. It’s good to know that Gasparilla Grill has the pasta choices, too…we love eating at the other Monorail resorts when we stay at BLT! That panko chicken looks wonderful, as do the create-your-own-burger choices! Thank you for the review and pics!

I’m so excited about this new option!! We love eating at Landscape of Flavors at Art of Animation when we are staying at the Waldorf!! I definitely will add this to our “list” for our May trip!! Awesome!!

I think I’d go for the chicken also. I love all things chicken! Maybe bacon, onion petals, mushrooms, lettuce, & tomato. Reg mayo spread, I’m not a fan of hot spicy. It sounds like an awesome place. And if we get to go on the *fingers crossed* family vaca to WDW in Sept then we will definitely try to stop by here! We all love burgers in my house!

Since I’ve never stayed at the All Star or Pop and want to try all of the resorts, one of these is due for my next trip. I think this new food spot looks wonderful. I would like any of the 3 burger choices and both of the onion toppings, mushrooms, cheese, peppers, lettuce and tomatoes – not sure of the condiment. The cucumber salad looks very nice and so does the gelato. Disney is really making QS excellent.

And even better they accept the TiW card – discount and no gratuity!!!

Denise – Thank you! I definitely had my eye on the Panko Chicken, too ;).
Cassie – I hope you enjoy! Have a great trip in May… now that’s it’s the New Year, that really doesn’t seem too far away!
livc – I’m going to have to branch out and try chicken options more often. I always go for beef, but it was a great change. Good luck with your (hopefully) September trip :)!
Essie – I completely agree with what you said about Quick Service. It’s always fun to see what they come up with!

I love all these fun updates to the quick service options at the resorts! IF only they would put them in the parks too!

The veggie burger is not a build your own…..but….I would love onions and mushrooms on my “burger” as well (being that most veggie burgers are nothing to write home about).
Lisa says
Too bad the build your own doesn’t work for vegetarian or vegan diners. Disappointing.

How unique. I love the names “onion petals” and “garlic goodness.” Brings a little magic to an otherwise ordinary meal. Also the gelato looks amazing!!!!
Christy says
That “garlic goodness” sauce looks exactly like Mae Ploy Chili Sauce! Which also happens to be sweet, spicey and full of garlic.
Krisyn says
If you combine the Chimichurri Mayo and the Garlic Goodness……AMAZING!!!!!
