What’s new in your favorite Disney World “chomping grounds”? What’s changed? Read on to find out what we’ve checked out recently!
Downtown Disney
The biggest change over the past week has been the addition of The Smokehouse to Downtown Disney’s West Side. This stop for all-things-barbeque features a lovely outdoor seating area and the chance to enjoy live music.
Signs of bigger changes to come can be spotted all over Downtown Disney as the area delves into its transformation to Disney Springs … and when I say “signs,” I mean actual signs.
We’ll be sharing more in a future post, but the artwork all over Downtown Disney give us an idea of what guests can look forward to in the future.
A smaller change – yet nearly as significant for fans of “Earl’s” 😉 – is that Earl of Sandwich has added FOUR LIMITED TIME items to the menu: a BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, Bacon Mac & Cheese (!!!!!), and, for dessert, Brownie Bark. Keep an eye on the Disney Food Blog for a review on these additions from the West Coast!
Magic Kingdom
Tortellini Pasta Salad
has come back to the menu over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. You can find this item in Bay 3 (learn more about Cosmic Ray’s “Bay” system here).
So, head on over to Cosmic Ray’s for some yummy food and a little quality time with everyone’s favorite lounge-singing alien, Sonny Eclipse!
It’s always fun to see what’s new over at the Liberty Square Market in… well, Liberty Square 😉 .
Always home to whole fruit options and grab ‘n go snacks, every so often you can score a fun find here. Most recently, that fun find has been the return of Roasted Corn, available plain or “Italian Spiced.”
As you can likely tell by the presence of the stand-up signs, things here change quite a bit. Stop by on your next stroll through Liberty Square to see what’s available!
Hollywood Studios
The newest addition over at Hollywood Studios is this lovely gem: allow me to introduce you to the Blueberry Cupcake with Lemon Cream Cheese Icing, complete with a chocolate Sorcerer Mickey hat! Read our full review here!
Around the Resorts
Speaking of cupcakes (did you know we are fans 😉 ?), the Contemporary Resort’s Quick Service option, Contempo Café, has added an Orange Dream Cupcake: “Vanilla cake infused with Orange Butter Cream and topped with swirled Butter Cream Icing.” This one is tucked in beside the Frozen-themed “Frost” Cupcake.
Over at the Polynesian Resort, Captain Cook’s has vanilla-based Peppermint Cupcakes up for grabs. From the looks of the nearly-empty tray, I guess they’re a hit!
Remember, Contempo Café and Captain Cook’s are “cupcake hot spots,” so things here change frequently. If you happen upon a new cupcake, we’d love to hear about it!
Staying in the Monorail loop, the Grand Floridian’s Gasparilla Island Grill has added the Cuban Panini to their menu: roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles on Cuban bread.
And finally we have one more “Welcome Back”… times two! I was thrilled to see the return of the Magic Cookie Bar to the Roaring Fork’s Bakery Case at Wilderness Lodge!
But then things got even better when I visited those lovely bars at Riverside Mill Food Court at Port Orleans! From the looks of it, Riverside’s Magic Cookie Bar appears to feature more peanut-butter-treat toppings than its Roaring Fork counterpart.
We’ll end this trip around the World on the other side of the Sassagoula River at Old Key West Resort. Guests are grabbing their goods-to-go from the Gurgling Suitcase, while Good’s Food to Go is under refurbishment through the end of the month.
Thanks for exploring the World with us again this week! Until next time, Eat and Be Happy!
Have you spotted anything new during a recent trip around the World? We’d love to hear about it in a comment!

Regarding the corn in Liberty Square Market, any indication what exactly “Italian spiced” means?

The PB cookie bar and the orange cupcake look very nice. I’d also like to try the new EOS steak sandwich and def the brownie bark. Hopefully on some future trip….
Dave says
Earl’s has had the BBQ chicken sandwich at their restaurants on the turnpike for some time. They are good.

42 days and we are staying at Port Orleans. I’m a peanut butter hound too and I can’t wait to get my paws on that Magical Cookie!!!! I wanna taste that corn as well.

ALWAYS enjoy seeing what the chefs come up with over at WDW. They all let their imaginations go full-tilt and come up with some of the most creative “eats,” especially from the bakeries. Everything looks wonderful and I need to see about trying some of them.
Tami says
Great another huge Starbucks shop. Blech! I REALLY wish Disney would employ a small, yummy, local coffee company instead of growing up a company that is monopolizing the entire industry. I truly believe Walt and Roy would have preferred to discover a company than bring one in that already “had it all”.

That blueberry cupcake looks like a clown. Bet it tastes like one too.
Ken Alegre says
I’m excited to try some of the new offerings. Can’t wait!
Wendy says
Tank — we’re hoping to try it this week (if the sign is up on my next visit), so hopefully will have more info for you on that soon :).
Wendy Snelgrove says
I thought the bacon mac & cheese was a new Earl’s sandwich, until I looked at the photo more carefully. How awesome would that be? Five or six slices of bacon, mac & cheese, and sharp cheddar slices, maybe with optional tomato?
Someone get on that – that’s a good idea!
AJ says
Wendy — they DO have Mac and cheese hot dogs and burgers around WDW! Have you tried those? A similar Earl’s sammie would be great!

I love the fact that you can get roasted corn and a sweet potato. People say that you can’t get good for you food around these resorts just aren’t looking in the right places. Not that i’m saying one should spend all their time on vacation watching their waistlines…i’d be pounding back one of those pb magic bars after my healthy lunch
