Woot! Will have to try that when we are down in a couple of weeks!
Scott says
Shoot! We’ll be there tomorrow – guess it will have to wait until next time…
Jenn says
Just booked it for April 2nd! Can’t wait!

Booked for May 16 – used it to convince my “likes wine and dessert, not crazy about fireworks” daughter to finally attend Illuminations with me! Yeah, doesn’t like fireworks…she didn’t get those genes from me (the wine and dessert genes, they’re mine).
Disney’s promotional images on the parks blog shows seated guests, but I believe it’s a standing-only event, from what I heard when I made the reservations. Anyone else confirm this?
Dana says
Oh no! We might not be making it to Disney this year!!!! Any idea if this is going to be a permanent thing? Would love to be able to do this next year.
Carrie says
I just reserved and was told there would be tables and seats since we are eating.
Lee says
Thanks for the seating update, Carrie. I made reservations for April 4 and it will be wonderful to have a place to sit during Illuminations.

I just called and confirmed with Disney. There is NO seating at this event. It is standing at tables only. So disappointed! I have a 5 and 7 year old that will not be able to stand still at a table for an hour so I will have to cancel my reservations. I expressed that the website is misleading by showing a photo that appears to have people seated at tables but if you scroll down the page there is another photo that shows people standing.

I called last Friday night – my cast member told me that there wouldn’t be seating, and that unless Illuminations itself is cancelled, the party will go on rain or shine (apparently if it rains, there’s a covered backup location they’ll relocate everyone to). It sounded like she wasn’t given a lot of information, just a small script.
We booked it anyway, but we’re hoping there’ll be some improvements based on what we’ve read so far.

Attended April 19th.
This is similar to the event in the Magic Kingdom, except there is no seating. (Many people sat on the ground.)
The food was not very good at the Magic Kingdom, and it was worse at Epcot. They can do so much more for the money you pay to attend.
The view of Illuminations is very good. (But not the best in the park.)
You can stop by France and pick up much better desserts for far less money. Plan ahead and stake out a great spot for Illuminations for no charge (you would have been standing the entire time at the party anyway). And you’ll have a much better experience.

No seats. Fact. I’m here
