On a very quick trip recently to Walt Disney World, I stayed at one of my favorite resorts, Disney’s Yacht Club.
It’s beautiful here, and I love the easy access to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But another big draw is that I’m really close to one of my favorite Disney watering holes — the Crew’s Cup Lounge!
You’ll find the Crew’s Cup tucked into a quiet corner right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse.
One of my favorite things about this spot is that it’s rarely crowded. In fact, I consider it to be a best kept secret for those of you who like a little respite now and then from the busyness of the parks.
Like the rest of the Yacht Club, you’ll find classy wood paneling and warm colors and lighting. And I love the brass panels above the bar, which add an understated visual interest to the themeing.
Tables and chairs are comfortable, and invite you to relax and linger a while.
While I love to stop in here for any excuse — it’s Thursday? I’m wearing black? — I also wanted to see if there was anything new on the standard Disney Lounge cocktail menu (it had been a rough flight ;-D). And there, I spied the new-to-me Pineapple Caipirinha.
Since I had really enjoyed the Frozen Caipirinha from the Epcot Food and Wine Festival’s Brazil Booth, and I love pineapple, I had to have this!
If you haven’t tried it, the caipirinha is the national cocktail of Brazil, and is a wonderful mix of limes, sugar, and cachaça, a spirit made from sugarcane.
This version features Leblon Cachaça and Agave Nectar, along with Pineapple and Lime. I thought the pineapple made a fantastic addition to the tropical drink. And hey — it was a serving of fruit into the bargain!
Plus, just so you know, this drink was a fabulously heavy pour. I got through about half of it before I had to check out for a bit! ;-D Definitely take Crew’s Cup up on their small food menu while you’re there (more on that in another post!).
This potent cocktail definitely made for one happy AJ! I’ll be stopping for another the next time I’m in town for sure. Note that you can pick this one up at most Disney bars and lounges, too!
Does the Pineapple Caipirinha sound like a great vacay drink to you? Leave a comment and tell us if you plan to try it!

I have to agree its a great cocktail. Leblon is my favorite non-tequila spirit. It was *almost* as good as caipirinhas I mix at home! (I use a DOUBLE Old Fashioned glass and coat the time with the raw cane sugar.) Hmmm….it IS just about happy hour, isn’t it?

Next WDW trip, I’m gonna skip the park tickets and just hit all the lounges. That should take a week!

I had the same drink at Crews Cup in October. Seriously yummy, plus, the atmosphere can’t be beat. Love it.

I am not familiar with this drink, but I may have to become acquainted in Octber.
