Okay, Disney Princess fans, this one’s for you (oh, and you Villains fans haven’t been forgotten, either)!
I always love to check out the mugs in the big merchandise shops around Disney World – places like Magic Kingdom’s Emporium, Epcot’s Mouse Gears, and Downtown Disney’s World of Disney.
Why, I don’t know, because I have way more mugs than I have people to pour coffee for… plus, I’m pretty sure they multiply themselves (I mean, I couldn’t have purchased all of those, could I?). But still, I’ve always liked the idea of a souvenir that you can use in your daily life — and use often, at that.
Well, my most recent visit to the Emporium was rewarded with my first look at these: the new line of Princess mugs!
Much like the popular ear hat ornaments, these mugs incorporate distinctive elements of a particular character’s design and story (in fact, Disney Merchandising has stated that this line was inspired by the ear hat ornaments).
First, for those who might be unfamiliar with the ear hat ornaments, here’s an example.
Now on to the mugs! I have to start with Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), because I love how the clever design showcases both her pink dress as well as her blue one. I’m also pretty impressed with the way the “gems” are painted in such a way that they almost look real.
Snow White’s mug is certainly eye-catching, due to her bold primary colors as well as the sparkling apple.
By the way, the sparkling apple is what makes this one unfit for the microwave – I did not find that to be the case with the other mugs when I peeked at the bottom (though I should note that Cinderella’s mug wasn’t yet on the shelves the day I saw them, so I’ll need to check. I can’t wait to see that one!).
You gotta love that so many of our Princesses have iconic hair-dos, and those have been incorporated into each mug handle as well. Arguably, the most famous locks belong to Rapunzel…
Though many are partial to Ariel’s red hair.
And then there’s always Jasmine’s ponytail. I love the details and “gems” on Jasmine’s mug!
The red inside of Belle’s cup really helps her signature to show up well in this picture. These “autographs” are part of each mug.
And while the focus here is mainly on the Princesses, I’ve got to share this cool Ursula mug, especially since Ursula merchandise is pretty rare.
I made one more stop, and I’m glad I did, because the World of Disney had another mug that hadn’t arrived at the Emporium yet… the Queen of Hearts!
Each mug is $18.95, and be sure to check the bottom — as mentioned, they differ a bit as to which ones are dishwasher and microwave safe and which aren’t.
So, there you have it… a few ways you can start your day off in Royal Fashion (or, if mornings make you feel a little evil — like me — I guess you’re set there, too 😉 ).
Which mug would you like to add to your collection? Please let us know with a comment!

I might go broke trying to get each of these….they are so darn cute.
The only thing about microwave safe…I have a Mickey mug that is hollowed ceramic on the feet and handle of the mug (which the handles on these look like these were done in same fashion). My BF stuck it in the microwave and although it didn’t explode, but there are now cracks on it and I’m somewhat weary about using it. 🙁 But, I don’t remember if the mug says it is microwave safe or not.

I’ll be at WDW soon and I have to get the Snow White one, it will be great if they add the queen.
Joni says
No Cinderella mug?
Shannon says
Can’t wait to pick one up when I’m there in October! The hard part will be narrowing it down. 🙂
Glo says
I would love a collection of the princess mugs. I hope there is a Tiana mug, fashioned after her lotus inspired dress!
Katie says
I think the hair handles are really weird. I don’t really want to be thinking about hair in my drink while sipping. Otherwise, the mugs are really cute.
Joelle says
I thought a new Maleficent mug was also released?
Leslie says
Katie, I thought the same thing. Hair and comestibles don’t mix, or at least they shouldn’t. 🙂
Jessica says
No maleficent?!
Laura says
Can these be bought online anywhere??
Ashley says
These are precious!! I would LOOOOVE to have the whole collection, but if I HAD to choose, I would pick Belle!
Elisabeth says
The Cinderella mug is pale blue with a “glass” slipper picked out in blue crystals, similar to the apple on Snow White’s mug. They were in Disneyland at Easter in one of the shops along Main Street.
Kellie says
Can these be ordered or just purchased at WDW
Judy says
Did you see any Malificent mugs?
sammy says
I love the ariel and jasmine mug.
Rose wood says
Can I buy these online?
Erika says
I would love to know how to get one without going to Disney World. My 7 year old would adore a Tangled mug for her birthday next month!
Angelina says
I want them all!!!
Trish says
I love these! At the age of 4 or 5, Sleeping Beauty was to me what Frozen seems to be for so many little girls today. I love her mug, with the two gown colors, and her coronet in her hair on the handle. I’m sure this will get bought when I am ther.
I’m only sorry not to see a Maleficent mug…but perhaps with the movie coming out there will be one eventually.
Shannon says
Yes, I would like to know if they can be purchased online as well. Love Rapunzel and Aurora!

I really hope they add these to the Disney Store online. Because I definitely don’t have the means to go AAALLL the way to Disney World for some mugs. lol
But I really would want The Queen of Hearts, Snow White, Ariel and Belle….and if they have a Maleficent one I will most definitely be adding that to the list. lol

Saw the post about these yesterday on the Disney Parks Blog and fell in love. I am definitely going to get one during our trip in November, I just have to decide which one I like the best.
Rebecca says
My life needs every last one of these !!!!!
TJ says
Any idea if they have Alice mugs? They’re so cute!
Elisabeth says
I believe there was a Maleficent mug, but not 100% sure, came down with a kidney infection since then, and have been a bit out of it, it might just be wishful thinking on my part. Kicking myself for not getting any of them, but was loaded down with gifts for my friend’s children and getting cranky by the time I saw them. Not sure if they can be bought on line, I live about 50 minutes away and have an annual pass so I am there every few months.
Amanda V says
Love the Queen of Hearts mug! I get so excited when I see new villain merchandise! And Alice in Wonderland is my all time favorite

I just recently visited Walt Disney World and the only of these mugs to be found were the two villain mugs, they aren’t even online to purchase on the disney website, I was so disappointed that I couldn’t find them on my trip. Hope the rest of you have luck.
Rhianne says
I’ve been in disney for the past week desperate to find these and couldn’t find them anywhere! Went in to the emporium today (for the 3rd time!!) and they had all of them to buy although the lady behind the till advised me they haven’t had them in for a long time and they only received them yesterday so don’t expect them to be around for long. But today I saw them in the emporium in magic kingdom and also a few of the Hollywood studios shops. Hope this helps anyone else that wants these as badly as I did!
Heather says
Are any of the Princess mugs available online? I’ve found the Ursula & Red Queen on the Disney store, but none of the Princesses. It was the 1 thing I wanted from our July trip, but too many people in our travel group = not able to see much of Magic Kingdom, let alone any of the shops. Also, for those who were asking, they DO have a Maleficent one! Found her, Red Queen & Ursula at World of Disney in July.
Karen DeWitt says
Please tell me how to get an Ariel and an Aurora online. I need these for my granddaughter and daughter in law.
Brooke says
Karen — The mugs don’t seem to be available online, but you can always try the merchandise guest services number — 877-560-6477. Good luck!
Kim says
Does anyone know if there is a Princess Tiana dress mug?
Brooke says
Kim — We haven’t seen one.
Alberta Graham says
Hurry with a Tiana design!!!
