Remember just last week when we took you to the new Starbucks in Downtown Disney’s Marketplace? Well, we’re back at Downtown Disney already to show you the new homes of Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream!
Only today we’re on the very end of West Side. We were excited to spot the signs indicating construction of this location a while ago, especially since Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs aren’t strangers to Downtown Disney. Their previous location next to Bongos Cuban Café closed last October to make way for what will be the West Side Starbucks. (Wetzel’s Pretzels, meanwhile, has retained a small kiosk in the Marketplace.)
These cheerful walk-up shops are located right outside of Disney Quest (notice the blue wall behind) and across from Cirque du Soleil. For another point of orientation, you can see the House of Blues sign just across the way.
Aside from location, another key difference is that these locations are walk-up window service with no dedicated seating area. Like the new Marketplace Starbucks, these are grab-and-stroll stops.
The brick overlay seems a little out of place and even a bit quirky in the way it stands out, but maybe that’s why I like it. While there is no longer any bright neon signage directing you to the goods, the brick manages to make the shops appear kind of cozy and sleek at the same time.
As you approach Wetzel’s Pretzels, the familiar bold yellow and blue begins to emerge in the signage and in the windows, alerting you to the offerings: from baked cheese and flavored pretzels, to lemonade, and Wetzel Dogs!
The full menu can be found as you approach the ordering counter (a little odd, I think, since this could create some pauses at the window, but the minds of many guests will probably be made up after checking out the items through the window).
Snack credits for the Disney Dining Plan are accepted here, but not applicable to “Bitz” or the Cheese Dog, as noted on the sign.
From there, it’s time to dig in! Here’s a glimpse of the goodness, and you can check out our full review of Wetzel’s Pretzels here.
I think the Haagen-Dazs location is especially appealing visually, since the black font of the Haagen-Dazs logo matches the black framing on the shop.
A list of available flavors appears on either side of the ordering windows.
Again, the menu is located right at the ordering counter, tempting you with cones, Coffee Frappes, shakes, and “Dazzler Sundaes.” (Only the Kiddie Cup is an option as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit here.)
The menu is more limited at this location, with fewer additional toppings to choose from, if I recall correctly. Still, I could totally go for a Mint Chocolate Chip Shake right about now (because why should today be different from any other day?).
And so with that, the former dilemma of West Side guests returns: “Wait… do I want a pretzel or ice cream?” There are worse problems to have, I guess 😉 . Welcome back to the West Side, Wetzels Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs!
Will you be visiting the new location for Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen-Dazs? Please let us know with a comment!

Is the Downtown Disney area owned by Disney? Last year, when I went into Haagen-Dazs the employees there were extremely rude! The staff was also rude when I went into Splitsville. I was shocked and it kind of ruined my visit to the area. I was wondering if these were Disney employees or just stores that happened to be in Downtown Disney. For this reason, I don’t think I will visit this area again. Unless it is just a “West Side” issue. I do go to the Marketplace because I love Goofy’s Candy Co. (just for the Slurpees!) and I have become obsessed with Earl of Sandwich.

Jenny — Downtown Disney is owned by Disney, but many of the stores and restaurants are operated by third party vendors, and the employees are not Disney Cast Members. Goofy’s Candy Company is a Disney store, however, so you’ll find Cast Members staffing that location. Normally, although not always, you can distinguish Cast Members from other employees by name tags.

Worst place to visit.
For one my food was hard as a rock. The customer service was terrible. One of the ladys had an attitude. Id rather spent my money somewhere else.
