We talk a lot about the unique Waffle Sandwiches over at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.
The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich, the Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich, and the Ham with Prosciutto and Swiss Waffle Sandwich typically steal the spotlight.
But if Waffle Sandwiches aren’t quite your thing, you’re not out of options at this waffle hot-spot. If you peek under the Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich on the menu, you’ll notice a couple of more traditional choices: the Waffle with Powdered Sugar or Cinnamon, and the Waffle with Strawberries and Whipped Cream. (Thankfully, all these waffles have never replaced the fried doughy goodness that is Funnel Cake — they all continue to exist happily together on the menu!)
I chose the Waffle with Strawberries and Whipped Cream.
As I watched my waffle being prepared, I noticed with some dismay that the strawberries were scooped on with one of those small ladles… you know, one of those ones that look teeny-tiny compared to a regular ol’ ladle? Anyone? “Bueller?” (That’s for all you 80s kids out there!)
Anyway, as I found out, there is a reason for that! The strawberry glaze seeps absolutely everywhere, so a little goes a LONG way. Each time you move in with your knife and fork…
… there it goes!
It’s not too long before it’s a river of glaze.
While I would’ve liked to have more actual strawberry chunks, there is no shortage of strawberry flavor for each bite, nicely complemented by the whipped cream and the dusting of powdered sugar.
So, there’s one more for ya — a little lighter than the waffle sandwiches, but still enough to join the Waffle Party at Sleepy Hollow!

Unfortunately, I have noticed that everytime I have a Nutella waffle sandwhich, I receive less and less nutella….so much so that I’ve come to bringing in my own Nutella packets with me to add to it because there’s barely any on the waffle!

Waffles w/strawberries and whipped cream has become our new MK breakfast. When we were there one December we sat outside eating our waffles with a beautiful view of the castle. Then it was time for a show outside the castle so we had breakfast and a show! It’s worth it just to sit outside Sleepy Hollow. It’s quiet and and overlooking the castle. What a way to start your day at the Magic Kingdom.

It is very sweet so a little really does go along way.

Does anyone know…can you use a snack credit for the waffle or funnel cake and pay the extra to add the strawberries and cream?

I love the funnel cake at sleepy hallow. We didn’t get any this past May trip but hopefully if we go in November we’ll get one. 🙂
Great Snack to share. 🙂 I don’t really care for waffles at Disney because I feel you can get waffles anywhere, where as funnel cake is a real treat.

Had this while waiting for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade in November…loved it! Both the waffle and parade 🙂

Do these waffles taste like the Mickey Waffles? I haven’t tried either yet.

The description of this item on the menu is misleading. I was imagining fresh, natural strawberries without any syrup. The syrup looks like what you might find on an ice cream sundae. Given that you already have the sweetness (and sugar) of the whip cream, I’d say the syrup seems unnecessary. At least I’d prefer to have just the cream and fresh strawberries.

Anna- Those were my thoughts as well. 🙂

I love Sleepy Hollow! The waffles are so yummy! My favorite is the Nutella and Fresh Fruit because I love Nutella, and the fact that the fruit really is fresh.
