Some things that we are most excited about for 2014 are:
The NEW Patagonia Booth will merge the flavors of Argentina and Chile! We look forward to sampling Sustainable Roasted Verlasso salmon, Quinoa Salad and Arugula Chimichurri, in addition to other regional specialties!
After a hiatus during the 2013 Food and Wine Festival, we’re excited that the Puerto Rico Booth returns in 2014 with an all new menu!
And we can’t wait to try a new addition to the lineup of Grown Up Slushies in France. We’re excited to sample the La Passion Martini Slush, which replaces the Cosmo Slush for the 2014 Food and Wine Festival. We expect it to be featured at the tres popular France Marketplace Booth. This is a must-have for sure!
And Dole Whip is back too — and this time, it’s Pineapple!

Almost lost my mind when I didn’t see Argentina… Thank God for the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Purée… it is my life force!
Vince says
Is the dragon berry refresher just a new name for the dragon berry colada? I hope so! It’s our favorite drink at the fest every year!

Good morning AJ! I’ve never tried any of the signature dining events. Is the meal something that’s not usually available on the menu? I’m thinking about trying the Narcosse signature meal on November 8th, but I’m running that half marathon later that night and should avoid alcohol. If it’s something I can usually eat off the menu, I’ll just visit Narcosse another day.

I’m a little troubled by the mention of “tart” with the escargot. I’m SERIOUSLY hopping that thy haven’t changed that dish into some type of quiche item if so I’m going to be extremely disappointed and not at all surprised when they change it back to the good stuff next year
Kira says
Oh no! I don’t see the lobster roll OR the lobster claw. Looks like it has been replaced with lobster Alfredo. YUK!!! And the lobster roll is off the dinner menu at Columbia Harbor House…replaced by a similar dish (cheese and seafood? Again, YUK!!!). *sigh* Looks like I may have to shell out (sorry for the pun) a lot of money at the Epcot food truck to get my lobster roll fix 🙁
Cindy says
What do the * and ** mean on menu items on the Marketplace Booths page?
AJ says
Kira — don’t forget the yummy lobster rolls at crews cup and boardwalk bakery!
Grace says
I have the same question as Cindy. I have been searching all over to figure out what the asterisks mean!
I am also bummed that the lobster roll is gone – lobster alfredo = yuck to me too. But there is still lobster fisherman’s pie over at Ireland… yum yum 🙂
Looking forward to my most favorite thing in the world – a day at F&W Fest! Woo hoo!
AJ says
Cindy and Grace — The asterisks don’t have any meaning to us at the moment. Possibly the “try it” dishes according to Disney. We’ll get them removed as soon as we can. 🙂
Syn says
oh my! no lobster rolls? bummers. hope it will make a return in 2015 when i plan to be there for the first time ever!
Emily says
I may have started to cry when I read that they had changed the escargot. I’m not ashamed at all.
Amanda says
Hi AJ!
I will be there with my parents the week it starts, we’re looking forward to trying several different items from the booth offerings (this is our first trip during food and wine). Are there any particular booths we should veer towards on Friday and Saturday when it opens? I don’t eat seafood so I was just curious if there were any you might recommend that are light on the sea fare?
Also, I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures if you need some of any particular dishes let me know! 🙂
Galloping Gourmand says
Finally, a Caribbean nation that’s bringing conch! Conch salad (usually a lime ceviche from what I’ve experienced) is so refreshing on a warm day.
Essie says
I’m also very excited that I will be attending my first festival in 2015! I’m so looking forward to both this and my second MNSSHP. I love lobster, but alfredo style would not be to my liking either. I’ve had a lobster roll once where I live and was very disappointed in it, as was one of my friends who also had it. It was very bland with no real flavor or taste to it. Are the lobster rolls in WDW spiced up with seafood spices or are they just mayo? I’d hate to get a second one and be unhappy with that one, too, as there are so many other good things to eat in WDW.
Biebz says
First time going to the event and just a little confused. Do you need any kind of admission ticket for the event (besides admission to Epcot) or do you just walk around to the different stations and purchase the food/drinks as you go. I did see there are addition charges for special seminars.
AJ says
Biebz — You have the right idea. You only need Epcot admission to get into the Food and Wine Festival. You can then purchase food and beverage items from the booths, or opt for some of the Festival Special Events or Low Cost Events. If you decide to sign up for Special Events or Seminars and Demonstrations, you’ll probably want to book ahead to ensure you get the events you’d like to attend.
Lauren says
Why, oh why, would they get rid of the lobster roll??!?!!?
/Sadpanda
I mean, I’m all for trying new things… but… I’m not down for my lobster covered in alfredo.
Oh well.
Jessica says
Morning guys!! I’m a festival first timer as well. Since this is the first festival that the Magic Bands have been “officially” rolled out for, does anyone know if we will be able to use those to charge (via stored credit card) or should I expect to being extra cash?
AJ says
Jessica — You will be able to use Magic Bands to charge at the booths.
Brandon says
Hi, thanks for all the great info on your newsletter . We are going to be catching the tail end of the food and wine festival. I didn’t see any information on the menu for the American pavilion. Did I just miss it when scrolling through? Also I didn’t see if Angry Orchard will be there again. Thank you
