If Fall and Halloween are your favorite Disney times of the year, you’re going to LOVE what we have to share!
We’ve seen hints that Disney will be offering some new premium enhancements to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This hard-ticketed, after-hours event takes place at Magic Kingdom on select evenings September through November. The party features trick or treating, your favorite characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes (so cute!), the Boo-To-You Parade (with the Headless Horseman!), and Happy HalloWishes Fireworks. It’s a whole lot of fun!
But if you’re looking for an extra special way to enjoy the holiday, you’ll want to check out this news!
Villains’ Sinister Soiree at Cinderella’s Royal Table
Lady Tremaine and Friends
are taking over the Castle! Join her at Cinderella’s Royal Table for a special dessert party!
Cinderella’s Royal Table will be decked out for the event, and guests will enjoy musical entertainment — including numbers by Lady Tremaine herself! The event will include a dessert party, which promises “over the top” desserts and specialty non-alcoholic beverages. Guests will also receive an autograph card and a special Maleficent souvenir dragon cup.
In addition, guests will enjoy preferred viewing for the 8:15 Boo-to-You Parade and the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular.
This event is priced separately, in addition to your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Ticket. The cost for the event is $99 per person for guests 3 and over (plus tax, gratuity included).
Booking for the Villians’ Sinister Soiree is not available online. To book the event, you’ll need to call (407) 939-5262.
Will you be booking the Villains’ Sinister Soiree at MNSSHP this year? Leave a comment and tell us your thoughts about this latest Disney premium offering!
Tom says
This event does not scream ‘special’… Sorry, for $99 on top of $70, this is not a premium product in any way… It is a money grab, pure and simple.
lebeau says
MM+ went over budget. These cash grabs are the padding needed to make the spreadsheets look better for the stock holders. As long as people keep forking over the dough, we can expect more and more of these. All the while, Disney will continue raising prices on park admission, food, merch and hotel rooms without actually adding much to the parks. Welcome to Bob Iger’s Disney World.
kiki says
Way overpriced. Will not be attending.
Essie says
It sounds fun, but I see these ‘extra parties, at parties’ as being special events for rich people. I sure could never afford it. With the way Disney keeps raising their prices, my former every other year, eight day, deluxe hotel trips have turned into every 3-4 year 6-7 day value hotel trips. WDW is my absolutely favorite place, the only place I ever pick to vacation, but I’m afraid that they’re going to price me out of business some day. 🙁
Andrew says
Lebeau, you seriously have no idea what you are talking about. This event just like all the other events are a result of people wanting special events and special offerings. Disney can keep raising prices since their hotel rooms are nowhere near as expensive as a motel in Downtown Chicago. Welcome to Bob Iger’s Disney World, a fantastic place with amazing food. Better stay at home and cry while us adults enjoy the offerings.
MM+ is a bust says
Spot on, lebeau!
Sarah says
Have to agree with everyone else- this is too rich for my blood. We’re going to one of the Halloween parties in October, and this does sound like fun, but it’s too expensive for us to even consider. It would cost $200 just for the pair of us! Maybe if it included a full meal instead of just desserts it might be a better value. I can’t justify spending that much money for desserts, some character interaction, and a spot to see the parade/fireworks where I can’t even sit down. I’ll just stick with my free candy, what characters I can spot on my own, and wait for the later, less crowded, parade. Plus I won’t have to take time away from the party itself- which we’re also paying to be at- to go to the event.
Andrew says
I will be going, not a cash grab to me. I love these events and am glad that Disney listens to the fans and not to the internet malcontents.
Sheri says
It is my dream to one day attend the MNSSHP. I would not miss a minute of this event let alone pay $100 extra to miss anything.
Leslie says
Wow. I think this is double the Illumination’s dessert party, which includes alcohol and isn’t on top of paying for another hard ticketed event. Some of these things are really neat ideas (can’t wait to do the Epcot Wind Down next week!), but this is ridiculous. I hope this doesn’t sell well so it doesn’t encourage WDW to keep pricing hard ticketed events so high like this.
Jennifer says
These extra cost events have gotten really out of hand now
Mariana says
I know most people are against the Dessert Party.
I’m not by any means Rich or even close to it however I decided to participate on it.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying is not expensive I agree with everyone.
Is only 2 adults and even though is expensive I decided to go for it I thought it might be something special and unique.
Please don’t bash on me for going.
I was also able to get Giftcards with Disney Card which actually will pay for the Dessert Party.
Will see if is worthy 🙂 I hope so
C. Evans says
After a great evening at Hambre Nights at Animal Kingdom i jump at getting my tickets for this past weekends Villians Unleashed…what a mistake that was!!! Now an added cost on an already hard ticket event!!! This is just going too far. I plan on going to MNSSHP, but not paying extra for dessert…I’ll save and buy a Dole Whip and be happy.
(Disney…if you need to make up for some lost budget lines, just do a few breakfasts with those Frozen girls. Parents will pay you big to get their kids into that!)
Tricia says
I’m on the fence with this one until I get more details. Are the desserts before or after the fireworks, if this extends party time then it could be interesting to do once. If this is part of the party time then I will pass as I already have more to do at that time.
Anna says
Vote with your wallets. If events like this don’t sell well, Disney will get the message and either adjust the price tag or stop offering them. If you are a shareholder, even with just a few shares of Disney stock, tell the company how you feel. DVC Members and annual pass holders, speak up. Let’s give Disney verbal feedback and also stop purchasing extra ticketed items to let the comany know that prices are too high.
Sarah says
@ Tricia,
I know of some people that have actually already signed up for this, and all of the times I’ve seen have been for after the first parade and fireworks. This does take place during the Halloween party- it does not extend anything. You will be giving up your party time to do this event.
Janelliz says
lebeau is spot on!
Anyone who thinks these events are being added because of guest demand, are the primary target for these events.
They create tons of revenue at minimal cost to Disney. 75 people is the limit for this additional offering. $7500 dollars per night in revenue for this dessert party alone! Plus another $5250 from their MNSSHP tickets.
I can not understand how they came up with $99 when all other dessert parties are $25 to $50 dollars. Not to mention losing precious MNSSHP time for this.
The one on Halloween sold out immediately.
But I’m opting out of this for sure! I seen many well known disney bloggers & websites saying they would not be attending this either. So I wouldn’t blame A.J. for skipping this as well.
Mariana says
Hi Tricia:
This is the information I got from the party when I called yesterday after being on hold for 42 minutes
Total Price for 2 people is 209 with Tax Included.
You get a prefferred area to view the 8:15 Parade and the 9:15 or 30 Fireworks ( I just don’t remember which time they are ) then you can check in at the Castle at 9:55 where you will be greeted by Lady Tremontine who takes over the Castle –
The Dessert Party starts at 10:15 – They will be other Villains attending as well
You get a Souvenir Cup and I believe an Autograph photo.
One thing Disney teach me while I was working with them to not think with my Wallet! As you ll have all different budgets when people call you.
Some people like Brand Pursue and pay $200 or more in Purse – I am non brand Person.
Do I agree that is expensive it seems like- Will I do it . Yes Sorry – I want to experience is like a one of a lifetime –
Stephanie says
I will not object to having people out of attraction and candy lines and hanging out in the castle instead 😉
Randi says
My friend as I are going to MNSSHP for the first time for our trip next month- however, that’s our only splurge. We’re staying at a Value resort, and only got Base Tickets. We didn’t even go for the Memory Maker because it’s out of our price range. There’s no way on earth I would even consider doing this dessert party, because $100 dollars per person is outrageous, especially considering the extra charge just to get into the Halloween event.
Stephanie says
No doubt it is expensive, however, clearly it is popular as dates and time are already sold out. I personally wouldn’t pay that much for this type of event, however, their are other ticketed premium events I might consider. Different strokes for different folks. If Disney ( or any other business) can make $$ on it they are going to sell it.
MM+ is a bust says
@ Stephanie
They are adding these things to “try” to show that MM+ is a success when we all know it’s failing to provide the return on investment that they promised YEARS AGO (and then at the QBR they state…ummmm…next quarter…yeah) All these extra add on events that they are charging for has NOTHING to do with MM+ but they will show the stockholders a bottom line and go, “hey…we told you MM+ would start bringing in returns”.
It’s a shell game and they are about to get caught.
JPDisney says
I paid for it — I wasn’t happy about the price but I opted to pay for it. This is likely the last trip that my daughters will be into princesses and I wanted them to have a “magical” experience. I have tried to get reservations for CRT and Be Our Guest to no avail so I waited on the phone for 48 minutes and paid for a family of four.
My thinking:
1. Everything and I mean everything is booked — there are no character experiences available the time we will be there (mid October) — yes, there may have been at 180+ days out but we didn’t have the luxury of time for this vacation — at least this way my girls will get to experience the castle
2. I plan on reading the reviews etc. — if the majority of them are bad, I can cancel my reservation
I agree that the cost is excessive for a dessert party.
Erin says
Do you have to be 3, to enter this?
Mariana says
Hi JPDisney
I will be going on September 9th and I will let you know about the Party.
Also don’t give up on the reservations- Try to check whenever you can .
They do open up – it happened to me last year – I got a Reservation one nigh that I had insomnia at 1:30 am – and then I got Bog for dinner –
Also I really hope you get the FP for Bog for lunch
Lot of people cxl close to the date change plans- so don’t give up! even the day before things open specially 1 week and/or 1 day
I’m sure your girls will love the Experience and never forget. I was thrill about being at the castle for the 1st time in my 30’s –
I was only able to go once as a kid with my family when I was 8 – I still remember how they surprised us and most of the stories from when we were there . Im 35 now!
Andrew says
MM+ is a bust, just stop you have no idea what you are talking about. Go back to WDWMagic.com and complain about Disney, let the adults here talk about how great this is and how smart Disney is…oh and lets remember there record profit for the quarter.
Mariana says
Hi Andrew:
Would you mind telling me what MM+ means? Sorry Ive been reading it on the blogs however I can’t figure it out
Thanks
Andrew says
Hi Mariana,
MM+ is MyMagic Plus. It is the initiative that fully updated the back of the house technology systems and introduced the Magic Band and the MDE app and Fastpass +. It is a resounding success and something that other companies are looking into using but certain uneducated malcontents think it is a failure because they can no longer game the Fastpass system.
mark dikowski says
OMG! WHAT ON EARTH ARE THEY THINKING! $170.00 FOR THE 2 EVENTS! THEY HAVE LOST THERE MINDS. THE FOOD PRICES AT THE PARK HAVE BEEN ON A STEADY RISE AND THE QUALITY ON A STUDY DECLINE AT MANY OF THE WALK UP SERVES COUNTERS. SO WHY WOULD I RISK SPENDING $800.00 FOR A FAMILY OF 5. THIS TAKES AWAY FROM THE PARTY YOU HAVE ALREADY SPENT 70.00 ON. DISNEY WE ARE NOT ALL MADE OUT OF MONEY!
Janet Sala says
We just reserved the Soiree. I am looking forward to hanging with villians and Cindarella’s Royal Table as well as the reserved viewing of the parade and fireworks. It’s not so bad for two adults. If we had a family with a couple of kids, we wouldn’t be doing it.
Pat says
Where is it stated that the sorie is limited to only 75 guest,
Mariana says
Janet Sala;
When are you going? We will be there Sept 9th- Also 2 adults only – I thought it iwould be fun
I couldn’tget into the dessert Party for Tommorowland and usually I mis parades of fireworks because Im 5 4 and everyone in the US seems to be 6 ft
Janet Sala says
Hi, Andrew! I absolutely love your explanation of MyMagic+! I also love MyMagic+. I have been going to WDW since December 1971 and think FastPass+ is the best thing EVER!!! That said, Disney could improve the performance and availability of their websites and, in general, their on-line presence. Have they ever heard of an Akamai waiting room? Doubt it.
To stay on topic, when you try to sign up for this event, be aware that not all cast members seem to be able to find availability. I had no problem, but friends who were trying to book the same night as us had to play a bit of CM roulette to get someone who could actually help.
Janet Sala says
Mariana,
We will be there October 26th. Trip is mostly for F&W festival, but we like to attend MNSSHP every few years–especially with friends!
Mariana says
Sounds Awsome Janet!
BF told me if I want him to go to Disney again next year we need to go to the F&W Festival I have never been to it – and he is not a Disney Nuts like I am – however he enjoyed all the character Breakfast –
Is it insanely busy! Hoping I can do it next year in November for my Bday November 8th.
Maybe if I get a Pin or Bounceback offer in 2 weeks on Hotel Room I will book and then hope it falls and that day – however I also want to go to Disneyland so I m a bit torn
Allison says
Okay I’m going to say something that’s going to be wildly unpopular…I do not understand why people insist on getting upset over something no one is forcing you to pay for. This event does not inhibit those who only want to go and pay for MNSSHP. In fact, it uses an area that’s closed during the parties so you’re not even losing part of the experience you paid for because of this event. It’s clearly an event for those looking for something extra special and are willing to pay for it. But that’s their choice. Obviously Disney is doing it for money and I’m not saying I agree with their motivation but no one is forcing you to pay for this. It is not required. Not everyone can afford to stay at Grand Floridian, does that make it wrong that the option exists? I will now wait patiently for the fireballs to begin…lol
Karen says
I just dropped the $209.84 for DH and myself for this event. The first Dessert Party was already sold out for Sept. 9th so we had to get the later one. However, that means we can enjoy the park for several hours, view the parade, watch the fireworks and then head over to CRT for our allotted time for the Villains soiree. – and then the park closes….
We have memory maker and I was told by CM there will be photographers at the Dessert Party.
I just hope the rain holds off for us. The extended forecast doesn’t look good…..But we will be dry inside 🙂
Mariana says
Hi Allison
That’s so funny that you mentioned about Grand Floridian I was thinking exactly the same
No one bashes ppl who stay at AK, GF, or any Deluxe Resort.
I got some mean comments for attending the party (not here)
I see this an Add On event.
I remember when working at Disney Tea Parties with Princesses it was expensive.
I decided to Splurge myself and go. Is just 2 of us.
I m going 7 days 4 days base tickets plus MNSHP. It works for me.
No need to hate the event or event goers we all might have different ideas how to spend $$
Some like Luxury Cars some dont
plus you never know someone might have save their whole life to go. And they might want to do as much as they can.
I was a bit thrown off at the price but id you put on perspective breakfast for 2 at CRT is $100 .
Karen says
Oh no Karen! Don;t tell me is gonna rain!!! I’m going the same day Sept 9th – We will be at Disney from Sept 7th till 15th.
Last time I was there for Mickey’s Xmas Party it dounpour and they cxl almost everything and most of rides were closed.
It will break my heart if it will rain again all week really bad- Do you mind sharing the link for the weather?
Wow when I called they only had 1 Dessert Party Time Slot – at least I was not even offered a 2nd one- I’m sure the 2nd slot is probably best as they won;t rush you-
Ohhh that’s awesome that they will have photographers inside!!! I have Memory Maker to!! Yayayaya..
We are going as Alice in Wonderland is costume fits and Mad Hatter!!!
Sorry for asking what does DH means?
Leslie says
Hey Allison,
I agree that stuff like this is not worth getting upset over; nothing WDW does is. It’s a theme park – it’s fun; take it or leave it. The number of people who get super upset about things like Starbucks or this is both funny and sad.
All that said, the price for this event certainly raised my eyebrows. I’m not upset; it just sounds like a neat event, and I wish they would price it reasonably so that it would be valuable to the guests who are going. I would have liked to go to this, but not for this price. I realize that this will likely sell out and WDW is a business and has no reason not to charge this much if people will pay it. However, just because you can get away with overcharging for something, and just because it’s a free country and you don’t have to purchase the ticket, doesn’t make it okay to overcharge people.
I love WDW and will continue to give them my money. Nothing like this will prevent me from that. It sure doesn’t pass the smell test though. Just my initial thoughts.
Celia says
Got our tickets yesterday! It’s well worth the money for our family just for the great view of the parade and fireworks. The dessert party with the villains is the gravy on top. If it’s lame maybe we won’t do it again, but if it’s really cool we might add that to our list of family traditions. It’s our third MNSSHP in a row and we all think it will make a great experience even more special. We work hard all year and it sounds like great fun, so why not? Sinister Soiree here we come!
Jackie says
@ Anna (with the “vote with your wallet)
This is not a flaming: I am both an AP holder & DVC member, I have written countless emails and some letters to guest relations & DVC, they don’t care. ESPECIALLY LATELY. Some were good comments, some complaints. I don’t expect much, but I always expect good customer service. And when I pay extra, I definitely expect a “special” experience. The MK Dessert party woulda neen better if the guests were more courteous, otherwise that was fine. Illuminations Dessert party was nice. Star Wars breakfast @ Sci-Fi was GREAT!!!! The After hours wind down was nice. I’m HOPING the Frozen Dessert Party will be good. I can’t see spending $100 for cupcakes & a singing Lady Tremaine, especially after I spent $70 to get in already.
Jackie says
BTW I think it’s great people want to go & I hope they enjoy!
@ Andrew-
People are “gaming” the FP+ system worse. Since I’m DVC, I don’t do this, but people paying cash are ‘walking” reservations for dining & FP+ that’s why CRT and Anna & Elsa meet & greets are gone when you try to reserve @ 180 days. They book a cash resort res a week before for say 2 weeks when they only need one & cancel it after they book what they want for the ACTUAL first day of their reservation. You can cancel a room res up to 5 days in advance. And I believe (I’m not certain) a package can be canceled at less than 60 days. If i’m wrong, please correct that. I prefer going to a ticket machine- better odds.
Jackie says
And… sorry FP+ res @ 60 days!
DrDisney says
Does anyone know where the preferred viewing area is? Do you think it really is spacious enough to fit 75 people and everyone will still get a clear view?
I have read that to see the parade you need to find your spot an hour before start time at MNSSHP. So saving that hour for more rides sounds good to me. Photo opp is also a good bonus. It’s frustrating it has to be so expensive, but it’s Disney! You get what you pay for, and If they didn’t do these events for $ then the cost would be distributed elsewear like raising ticket or food prices. My husband wants to get tix but I’m still on the fence because of the cost… I want prime location for the parade with no one in front of me if it’s costing $99!
Tracey says
I’m going to MNSSHP on Halloween and the earlier dessert soiree is SOLD OUT. (Which tells me there IS a demand for it) We are attending the 11:30 PM one and I am looking forward to it! Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I splurged. The dessert parties must be popular because I tried to do the one at EPCOT and it too, is sold out. It’s about supply & demand. If Disney builds it, people will come. AND, Disney will make money.
Sandra says
This is a bit more than I would pay (we did the original dessert party at about $26/person), but I am baffled by the people who say Disney is only doing this for money. What? A for-profit corporation conducting their business to make money? Shocking.
There are a lot of choices for folks at WDW; not everyone will like or be able to afford everything, but there is something for everyone to enjoy. I don’t resent the people who can afford million dollar houses and I don’t mind if Disney offers a premium party experience for those who want it. Just keep the FPs free and the park tickets inclusive of all rides and shows so all can enjoy the same basic experiences and fun.
Melody says
TO EXPENSIVE FOR MY BLOOD. I have been paying on this trip for over a year and it starts September 20-Oct 2,2014. I can’t squeeze another $300 before the trip so me and my kids can enjoy their 30th birthday. The 3 of us have been sending every spare penny to make this great and they had really wanted to meet Maleficent.
Dr Disney says
I answered my own question about the location and realized this was previously discussed also… Castle forefront stage location in central plaza will be right up front for the new Villians Mix & Mingle performance, as well as the Celebrate the Magic- Halloween edition, that is projected onto the castle. Some did say that fireworks look best from a distance, but since this is also reportedly one of the most expansive firework shows put on by Disney I think any view is going to be awesome! I also realized the the second dessert party of the night allows guests to be in the park 30 minutes after closing… So all together we decided that the Villains Soirée offers us the best chance to have a decent view of the parade and shows while also allowing us to maximize other time on rides with short lines… Plus the villains we will meet before and during the dessert party will provide plenty of character pics with our memory maker that we won’t waste time waiting for meet & greets in the park. So we bought our tickets for the Villians Soirée and are preparing our costumes for the party on September 23rd. Happy Halloween everyone!…
Melody says
My daughter is on the phone now trying to get reservations for the 3 of us. You only turn 30 one time.
