One of the quintessential Disneyland must-eats are the beignets! You can find ’em at a couple of locations around the Happiest Place on Earth, and there is definitely a difference of opinion on which version is best.
We’re going to take a look at the options, and we want YOU to tell us your favorite!
Mickey Beignets + Dipping Sauces at Cafe Orleans
in Disneyland Park is probably my all-time favorite spot to enjoy Beignets. And there are lots of reasons for that.
Inside, you’re surrounded by rich colors, beautiful stained glass, and Disney history — the spot houses an espresso machine that was a favorite of Walt Disney himself! And the outside patio offers great people watching and a good vantage point to enjoy beautiful New Orleans Square.
But great location is just the tip of the iceberg. Because the real reason that these are some of the best Beignets ever? They’re Mickey-shaped!
And, luckily, they come with Dipping Sauces! Because just about every food should be dipped, I think.
Here there’s not one, but two — Vanilla Creme Anglaise and Raspberry Coulis. My favorite is the raspberry — combined with the beignets, it’s like eating a jelly donut!
A look at the inside shows you just how remarkably light and airy the Beignets are.
If you happen to visit Disneyland during the Fall or Winter holidays, you just might stumble upon some seasonal Beignet flavors as well. The Gingerbread Beignets with Vanilla Sauce sound like a pretty great way to usher in the Yule Tide Spirit!
Mickey Beignets to Go and More Seasonal Flavors at Mint Julep Bar
If you’re looking for just a snack, or you’re in the mood for a stroll and nosh experience, you can also find Mickey-Shaped Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square.
Here, the treats are served in a paper bag, tossed with a ton of Powdered Sugar.
You won’t get any dipping sauces here (Why, Disney? Why??), but you can decide whether you’d like a single order or enough to share. Choose from a three-count or six-count.
Here’s an interesting point to ponder, though. The Beignets that I’ve had here aren’t quite as light or airy as the ones I’ve gotten over at Cafe Orleans. Fluke or actual difference? Hmmm.
And what is a sure-fire way that we know Fall has arrived in Disneyland? Pumpkin Beignets arrive once more at the Mint Julep Bar!
While the orange-hued dough doesn’t taste night-and-day different from the regular beignets, pumpkin fans may taste a slight spice.
And we hear that a Bananas Foster version makes an appearance, too. Yum!
Traditional Beignets at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express
But we’ve also heard some really strong support for the more traditional version of Beignets that you can find at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying Beignets in New Orleans, then the rectangularly-shaped pillows of fried dough here will seem more familiar to you. And you have the added bonus of watching the staff make them fresh right before your eyes!
Looks good, right? Fresh from the fryer.
And at Ralph Brennan’s you can choose from a small order containing 4, a large order with 6, or family-sized order with 10!
Hot, fresh, and delicious, these are the perfect breakfast food to start your day — just add coffee. Or they make a great afternoon snack as well. (I can even vouch for them the next day.)
You can also pick up a box of Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix to whip up a batch at home!
Now It’s Your Turn!
We want to hear from you! Which Disneyland Beignet is your favorite? When it comes to hankering after this Big Easy treat, are you headed into Disneyland to Cafe Orleans for its Tower o’ Mickey Beignets with dipping sauces, or to the Mint Julep Bar for a snack and stroll? Do you prefer the fun seasonal flavors like Pumpkin and Gingerbread — or do you take the purist’s approach and head for Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express?
Let us hear your vote for the best Disneyland Beignets in comments!
Susan says
Mickey shapes are cuter and certainly tasty, but Ralph’s are much much more delicious!
Kelly M says
Give me 2 weeks and I will have an opinion! I will sample them all…twice 🙂
Victoria says
When are they going to bring these to Disney World? It is in the south after all!
Brian says
Victoria — I don’t know how they compare to any of the Disneyland options, but you can get beignets at the Port Orleans – French Quarter food court.
Joni says
Loved them fresh at Bomfamiles sure miss that place
You can get them at a take out item at Port Orleans food court but they are all smashed into a bag. 🙁
Melissa says
There is not contest, the ones at Ralph Brennan’s are much better tasting!
Jeff says
Ralph Brennan’s by a mile!
Chad says
I was just in New Orleans and went to Cafe Du Monde a couple times. Real beignets are not that light. They aren’t heavy but they shouldn’t be mostly air either. Not sure what Disney is doing wrong on that one.
Julie says
Any Mickey shaped beignets at WDW? I only know of the regular shaped ones at Port Orleans resort…
Sandra says
If they’re using Café du Monde mix/recipes, those will be wonderful! Need the right coffee though, but if you have that, I could eat a dozen.
Julia says
It’s a tradition for my daughter and I to grab some beignets at the Mint Julep and the sit in the courtyard outside the haunted mansion and people watch and listen to wtv jazz music streams from the cafe. Jack skellington was walking by one time with Sally and they sat and talked to my daughter one time and she will never forget it. I thought I was in the know about the mint julep being one of the only places you could get the beignets since New Orleans cafe usually has a line, but I guess at the same time ive been missing out because I had no idea these other options existed. They will be a must try, since it will be the holidays while we are there hopefully they’ll have a seasonal option for us.
Never tried the ones in downtown Disney either.. We never usually stop much there because we are in such a hurry to get to the parks! They will be a must try also!

Hands down by a landslide, the ones at Jazz Kitchen Express are delicious!! Made to order HOT and filling. Yum!!
Angelina says
I like the Brennan ones the best but it like the atmosphere of the ones in the park more. I’ve never tried the dipping sauce ones but the seasonal flavor are pretty awesome!
Dawn says
As much as I love Mickey, Ralph Brennan’s are definitely better.
Melanie says
We had both the ones at Cafe Orleans and Mint Julep…I say Cafe Orleans wins big time…the dipping sauces are fantastic. I have been to Cafe du Monde and even made them at home from the box. Cafe du Monde is not to be missed in New Orleans, but I still vote for Cafe Orleans. Am excited to hear about Seasonal Flavors, tho….a reason to go back!
Tim says
Having worked at the Mint Julep Bar 1968-71, I would be partial towards those in that location (altho those we sold at that time were called Fritters and were large fried dough balls rolled in sugar). Can’t beat true New Orleans beignets, though, and the ones at the Jazz Kitchen are authentic.
LG says
The gingerbread ones during the Christmas holiday are the absolute best! Rather than powdered sugar, they are sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. I now bring a plastic container with me, and get three orders – one to eat right away, two to take home so I can have them again the next day, they reheat well in the microwave & are almost as good as at the park!!
Dez Patterson says
Hands down Jazz Kitchen’s beignets are the best!! I have a small obsession with beignets after visiting New Orleans Cafe Du Monde. Always on a quest to find a place that makes them as divine as they do. So far in my quest it is Jazz Kitchen.
DZH says
The beignets at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express are definitely the tasting ones. Yes, the Mickey shaped ones are cute and the different flavors for the holidays are a treat, but nothing beats Ralphs.
Alicia says
I cannot tell a lie but, ❤️❤️ RBJazz Kitchen are scrumptious!! Mickey Mouse Biegnets are cute in all but, I prefer and ❤️ RBJazz beignets!
Debra says
We love the beignets at both places. We will take trips up to Disneyland just to have them. But by far the absolute best are the beignets at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Cafe. Nothing comes close to the originals served here. My mouth waters just thinking about them!
Jackie says
Without a doubt…Ralph Brennan’s!
Lalaine says
Love this! Still have to try the seasonal flavors, but these definitely made my top 5 list!
Christine says
I plan on sampling all 3! I’ll get back to you …
Johanna says
Jazz kitchen for Beignets is our first stop we make when going to Disneyland! We were so obsessed with them, we have been making at home for years with the mix (Amazon has it). We will try Mickey ones next time but you can’t beat Jazz kitchen.
Mia says
We love The Jazz Kitchen beignets by far. I think because they aren’t fried as long. What a difference that makes! Great post, thank you!
Wendy G says
I’m a bit of an oddity (lol) – I prefer the lighter ones from Mint Julep Bar. Didn’t care for the flavor of Jazz Kitchen’s dough as much.
