UPDATE: It may not be “Aloha” for Aloha Isle after all… It’s possible that Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace may be switching locations soon. We’ll keep you posted as this story progresses!
It may be that the days of lining up at Magic Kingdom’s Aloha Isle for a Dole Whip are coming to an end…
Recently, Aloha Isle’s Adventureland neighbor, Sunshine Tree Terrace, added Aloha’s signature snack to their menu. Adding to its own specialty treat — the Citrus Swirl — now Dole Whip can be purchased at Sunshine Tree Terrace as well. Options currently include the flavors of Pineapple, Vanilla, or a Swirl of both served in your choice of cone, cup, or in Float form.
So, why the change? It seems Aloha Isle may be closing to make way for a new restaurant in Adventureland, and Sunshine Tree Terrace will become the sole spot to find Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom.
So, what’s on tap for this possible new location? Rumor has it a Tiana-themed restaurant may be in the works.
Again, we want to stress that this is currently filed solidly under “rumor” status, but
with a place as beloved as Aloha Isle, I thought I’d share.
Just don’t ask me to share my Dole Whip.
What do you think of the possible closing of Aloha Isle? Or an addition of a new Adventureland restaurant? Please let us know with a comment!

A Jungle-Cruise themed restaurant would be a much better option there. But, Tiana’s Place would be amazing at Port Orleans French Quarter – they need a table-service restaurant! As long as I can get my Dole Whip Float somewhere in MK, I’m happy!

From a purely sentimental point of view, my husband always made aloha Isle his first stop at 10am for his first fix of the ‘float’. He’s no longer with us and it will be another tradition gone out the window. Thank goodness my daughter and I had our fair share in November. We always sat on a wall to eat them.

Oranges may be significant in Florida, not a forever in Adventureland like Dole Whip. Tiki, tiki room doesn’t fit with Orange Whip. I might settle for a Jungle Cruise themed restaurant like Katie F suggests. Whenever I see the Orange Bird I am reminded of Anita Bryant’s bigoted tirades.

We always stopped at Aloa Isle for our Dole whip and now it’s available at Tamu Tamu in Animal Kingdom in Africa. Wonder and hope it will be available permantly in Epcot, since we spend most of our time there when visiting the parks. As I am disabled and use a power chair to get around the parks, we seldom go to Magic Kingdom which is too difficult to navigate in due to the crowds. But we always went to the kingdom from Epcot solely to get our “Dole” fix! Now we can get it at Africa in Animal Kingdom. Wish they would make it permanently in Epcot rather than just during the food and wine festival!

Nooooo! I do not want to see Aloha Isle closed. I seem to be one of the few, but this has been one of our favorites since we started going to WDW. I don’t like the fact that its across from the smoking area, but to put it someplace else just seems weird. If they are going to put it in Sunshine Tree Terrace – I hope they have a separate line for Dole Whips. For someone just wanting a Dole Whip, I don’t want to have to stand in line with people ordering other food. That will make the lines even longer. I don’t particularly think a Tiana themed restaurant fits the area. The Jungle Cruise theme would, but I still don’t want to see Aloha Isle closed.
