The long-awaited moment has arrived…
So, in the (slightly paraphrased) words of Lumiere, “Now, we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as Be Our Guest Restaurant proudly presents… your Breakfast!”
Since the day Be Our Guest Restaurant opened as part of New Fantasyland in November of 2012, it seems to have only picked up steam. To say that its initial offerings of a Table Service Dinner and Counter Service Lunch have been successful would be an enormous understatement. The popularity and demand for meals at Be Our Guest have led to a third offering for the day, which is the new meal and experience that we’re here to review now: Breakfast at Be Our Guest Restaurant!
UPDATE: Please note that as of June 2015, the original test phase of breakfast at Be Our Guest Restaurant has been extended and Advance Dining Reservations are available for breakfast through October 3, 2015.
Before we step inside, though, it’s worth exploring the outside grounds a bit, since that’s where you check in for your Advance Dining Reservation. But mostly, it’s just a neat hour to be in New Fantasyland and experience some of the quiet among the earliest breakfast arrivals.
With the Daylight Savings Time change being so recent, the sun had not been out long before my friends and I arrived for check in, so the natural light in the area was especially beautiful.
But it’s also the indoor themeing of this restaurant that makes it so special, so let’s step once more into the Beast’s Castle…
Atmosphere
We’ve taken one or two (or three) tours around Be Our Guest Restaurant before, but it’s undeniable that the exceptional theming has been the top draw for guests hoping to dine here. And since, as with lunch, you get to choose where you sit for breakfast, you’ll want to give each of the three rooms consideration before your visit.
I don’t know which of the rooms has been most in demand since Be Our Guest opened. I’m guessing that it might be the Ballroom, since it so perfectly captures the scene where Belle and Beast dance together in the film, and is complete with elegant seating, stunning chandeliers, and falling snow.
Many guests, though, are eager to dine in the West Wing: the place Belle was forbidden to go due to the presence of the Enchanted Rose.
Aside from the magically falling rose petals, amazing special effects in this room include the sound of periodic thunderstorms, simultaneously revealing glimpses of the Beast in the portrait of the prince.
While the third room, the Rose Gallery, isn’t open for dinner, it IS open for both breakfast lunch. The highlight is the
much-larger-than-life music box centerpiece of Belle and Beast dancing together.
Dark woods provide hints of elegance while pastel greens — along with portraits of the film’s beloved characters — add light, whimsical touches.
So we’ve had a brief tour, but what’s new here is breakfast, and Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Cogsworth “only live to serve.” So let’s let them do their eagerly anticipated task of serving up the food, shall we?
Ordering Process
Breakfast at Be Our Guest is unprecedented in two ways: first, like lunch, it is a Counter Service option, which counts for one Quick Service credit for guests on the Disney Dining Plan; however, as with lunch, guests are able to make Advance Dining Reservations for this experience (an option typically reserved for Table Service meals). Additionally, breakfast is a prix fixe meal. There is one set price, which includes your choice of entree and beverage, and an assortment of pastry selections for sharing at your table ($19.99 for Adults, $11.99 for children).
Because every meal offering at Be Our Guest works a little differently, let’s briefly go through the breakfast logistics. When you check in outside for your ADR, you may take some time to look at the printed menus available. The front, of course, has all the meal options for ordering.
The back, however, lists the steps for ordering at breakfast.
Upon entering the Castle, you’ll stroll past the Knights in the hallway…
… and proceed to the ordering room to begin the process listed above.
My friends and I received a Magic Rose to begin the process. Prefer to use your Magic Band? Go right ahead… but no Magic Rose for you 😉 !
You will use the touch screens at the ordering kiosks to select your meals (you can read more about that process here, which is the same as that for guests not utilizing the pre-order option for lunch). Plenty of Cast Members are also available for any needed assistance.
While you’ll see the individual options on the screen, full menus are available on the wall to refer to as well.
After placing your order and paying in full, you’re presented with the final steps:
Next, select your table in your choice of the three rooms! No need to notify Cast Members of your seating arrangements, as they will “magically” locate you thanks to your Magic Rose or Band.
Because it was the first day, things were flowing a bit differently than they will for future visits, so the Rose Gallery was unopened the very first thing in the morning when we arrived (it did open not too long after we were served), and the West Wing was already full.
Rather than have us wander around, Cast Members helpfully notified us about seating availability, so we were able to select a table in the Ballroom (my personal favorite section) with ease.
We placed our Magic Rose on the table (as seen above), which gave us the freedom to leave our table and fill our own beverage cups at the refill station, and grab our utensils and napkins from the silverware carts.
As promised, our food found us! The charming food carts used for dinner and lunch are utilized for breakfast as well.
You may recall our Everything on the Dinner Menu review when Be Our Guest Restaurant first opened. Well, we’ve opted to do the same thing for breakfast so you can check it all out! Are you ready at last to dig in? Then, here we go!
Eats
Let’s take one more look at that menu before we go through each of the Adult entrees.
You’ll notice the text at the bottom mentions “assorted Pastries presented tableside.” We received two trays for seven entrees (all 6 adult entrees as well as one Kids’ Meal).
Mini muffins, pastries, and croissants round out the offerings, which are similar to what you will find at grab-and-go stations in the Resort food courts.
Parents, you may want to “solve” the inevitable argument among the kiddos over who gets the coveted chocolate croissant… by grabbing it for yourself 😉 .
You receive a beverage part of your meal as well, and you are welcome to visit the refill station as often as you like (and, Mom, if you’re reading this, I only have soda for breakfast, like, once in a blue moon, I promise!).
And now, for the entrees… starting with the Open-Face Bacon and Egg Sandwich. This toasted baguette is topped with poached eggs, Applewood bacon, brie, and a bit of tomato and arugula to provide a nice pop of color along with a bit of lightness among the other rich ingredients and textures.
This sandwich is — in a word — delicious. I’m never one to order anything with the words “poached eggs” in the description, but these wonderfully prepared eggs proved me wrong.
The smoky, thick slices of applewood bacon and the creamy brie were terrific accompaniments in both texture and flavor. Additionally, the toasted baguette was soft enough for ease of eating, but hearty enough to stand up under the very substantial toppings. Our whole group agreed that this was the overall table winner, and in speaking with some of the managers, it seems it was a huge hit at other tables as well.
But that’s not to say the other dishes were slouches! Moving on to the highly anticipated Croissant Doughnut…
Also known as a cronut (but unable to officially be called such due to trademarks by the genius who came up with it), the fried, flaky doughnut is dipped in sugar and cinnamon and arrives topped with a banana caramel sauce, vanilla pastry creme, and chocolate ganache. Oh, and a dollop of whipped cream because YOU’RE ON VACATION!!!
This gooey, decadent splurge definitely has a pronounced banana flavor from the sauce, which brought to mind the Bread Pudding at ‘Ohana, while having its own distinct flavor with the cinnamon and chocolate. You definitely need to be in the mood for some serious sweetness, though, as just a couple of bites did me in.
There isn’t anything I would change about the doughnut itself — it’s as yummy as it appears. But because it is so very sweet I think this dish might be helped with a small side of bacon or something else savory to balance it out, especially considering that the starters for the meal are other sweet pastries. Overall, though, this is a fun and unapologetic dessert-for-breakfast with a LOT going for it!
The Assorted Cured Meats and Cheese is a beautifully presented charcuterie tray, with the featured meats being Alpine-smoked ham, prosciutto and sopressata served alongside brie, strawberries, and a toasted baguette. There’s also a marmalade to add sweetness.
All of the meat I sampled was nicely fresh and, as a huge fan of brie, I found the pairings to be tasty.
Simply put, it’s quite well done, and an unexpected option for a theme park breakfast. This dish is the most likely to undergo a few changes based on seasonal availability. According to a Cast Member, it’s possible that in the future it may be served with grapes, or figs and honey, or other variations.
The Vegetable Quiche is the same as that served at lunch, featuring mushroom, zucchini, bell pepper, onion, and chive.
It was packed with much more flavor than I expected, with lots of bell pepper providing a really nice bit of zest. I am also a fan of the buttery crust for this dense, filling meal.
The Scrambled Egg Whites are topped with chives and served with roasted tomatoes and two multigrain croissants.
The eggs themselves were rather nondescript, despite the presence of chive — which, alas, is the fate of egg whites in general.
The highlight of this dish was actually not the featured eggs but the multigrain croissants, which were buttery, but still had some nice texture to them.
There isn’t much to say about this dish. I understand the importance of having such a meal on the menu for varying guests’ needs, but with the standout quality of the other options, I’d recommend passing on this one.
The Eggs Florentine is a puff pastry shell filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, and spinach, with country ham and a roasted plum tomato on the side.
If you’ve tried the Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops in its current form for dinner (it differs slightly from when it made its debut), you’ll be familiar with the style of the pastry shell, which is light and flaky and not at all soggy, even with the dense amount of filling.
It’s not mentioned on the menu description, but my friends and I all really picked up on the chive in this dish, and that small bit of sour cream you see dotting the top gives and extra bit of richness to the already hearty egg. Altogether, this dish packed much more flavor than expected.
The country ham on the side was fine, but somewhat an afterthought when compared to the great main dish.
While we didn’t have any children with us on this visit, we just couldn’t resist trying an item from the Kids’ Menu.
We went with the Crepes de Cogsworth.
Stuffed with straight vanilla yogurt, blueberries, bananas and strawberries, the plate is enhanced with Wildberry Foam.
While we weren’t wowed, the crepes themselves were prepared just fine — light and fluffy. However, some children may not be a fan of that pronounced yogurt taste, which is very prominent in this dish. If your child does, however, enjoy vanilla yogurt, the Crepes du Cogsworth offer a fun departure from the more standard pancakes.
So, we’re pleasantly full from enjoying the most important meal of the day at Be Our Guest, which gives us the energy to discuss our thoughts on the whole kit-and-kaboodle…
Overall
Before we sum up the experience, let’s chat a little about value. For guests on the Disney Dining Plan, breakfast at Be Our Guest is a clear win for one Quick Service credit. Portions are hearty enough that you could do a later breakfast and an earlier dinner and easily get by with a midday snack to tide you over.
Guests paying out of pocket, of course, have a little more to consider. I’ve tried to break down the value, but I should stress that this is based on estimations with offerings at other Disney Counter Service restaurants. With this prie fixe meal you receive your choice of entree, and I would guesstimate Disney prices for these items ranging anywhere from the Scrambled Egg Whites entree at around $8 to the Open-Face Bacon and Egg Sandwich around $11-12. The cost for a regular-sized Fountain Soda beverage is $2.99, typically sans refills depending on where you dine (the price of the other selections vary; for instance, bottled water is $2.50). Similar pastries as those served here go for about $2.99.
So, you’re looking at a meal value of $14-18 with the rest, I suppose you could say, paying for the experience of dining for breakfast at Be Our Guest. Personally speaking, I would not typically get a pastry prior to an entree, so as a non-Disney Resort guest who is ineligible for the Dining Plan, that’s something I need to consider, just like other guests paying out of pocket need to decide if the value is there for them.
The nice things is that — no matter which meal of the day you decide holds the best value for you — the breakfast option at Be Our Guest obviously does something that has been necessary for quite some time: it opens up more opportunities for people to dine here, and now with three distinct experiences to boot. So, let’s say you decide lunch is what offers you the best value, now you’re in better shape for getting an Advance Dining Reservation for that time slot thanks to the opportunities that the breakfast service opens up.
Speaking solely to the breakfast experience, though, I really think that Be Our Guest offers some truly special dishes for the occasion, very much in keeping with their grand settings. Many of the dishes are a great step above what you would find in other Counter Service breakfast locations, in both quality and originality. Given the truly enchanting setting, it all comes together for another memorable meal at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

Would each person get just one pastry or does it seem like it may be two per person? The open faced sandwhich looks delicious! Thanks for the review 🙂
Nick says
Can one person order two entrees or are guests limited to one entree per individual?
mealtrip says
Hummmm… it’s interesting to note, that as a solo guest… my pastry tray did not contain a chocolate croissant, and only had two mini-muffins, two danishes, and one plain croissant. I wonder which, and how many pastries two guests that didn’t order everything off the menu would get?
I asked two different cast members about the pastry tray and was told one to four guests get one tray exactly like mine, and five to eight guests get two trays exactly like mine. I didn’t even know the pastry tray came with a chocolate croissant. I suppose I wouldn’t be counting pastries if the whole thing didn’t cost $20 per person.
Could I trade my two muffins for a chocolate croissant? How would I even know to ask? Could I trade that bowl of fruit that comes with the Croissant Doughnut for some strips of bacon? Oh the woes of en masse prix fixe.
I thought my solo breakfast at Be Our Guest was great, the food was delicious, the cast members were great (as they always have been here), and while I wouldn’t call it a “deal” meal… the price was okay for the quality of food, service, and the storybook environment. I would however, like to see the whole prix fixe notion disappear.
Let me pay for what I want to eat. If my party wants a pastry tray, put a price on it, tell me what’s in it, and I’ll buy it… or not. If I want to order the Croissant Doughnut as a breakfast “dessert” and skip the pastry tray altogether, then let me do that. Do I have to drink a Diet Coke or can I pay extra for a Mimosa? And that… speaks directly to the woes of the Disney Dining Plan, as it relates to guests paying out of pocket.
Frank says
Personally, I’m not a Prix fixe menu fan.
But Bravo to Disney for adding another dining option at the Magic Kingdom.
I’ve long said that the Magic Kingdom sorely needs more restaurants.

Thanks for this wonderful review. I definitely know which 2 (or 3) meals I’ll be ordering next time! 🙂
FYI: the Rose Gallery is open for dinner now. My wife and I ate there for dinner 3 weeks ago during a 9pm(ish) reservation. The area was about 3/4 full with guests. One corner of the rose gallery (as you enter, to the right) was being used for service prep/drinks and was surrounded by temporary walls.
Wendy Snelgrove says
The idea of having one size of pastry tray for 1-4 guests is ridiculous. It completely changes the value of the meal.
Is it possible to make any changes in these entrees? For example, can you substitute scrambled eggs in place of poached eggs on the sandwich, or could you substitute bacon for the ham, or could a vegetarian substitute something non-meat for the ham, etc.?
Tracy says
Did you pay adult price or kids meal price for the crepes? If my family decides to go for breakfast and a couple of us are small breakfast eaters I’m curious if we can get oatmeal or smaller meal off the kids menu but there’s no way we would pay $19.99 for oatmeal or crepes, etc.
Jocelyn says
Everything looks DEE-lish! We tend to ignore prices while in the “World” so I’m looking forward to trying everything on this menu!!
Richard says
Great review, thanks! You answered a lot of pricing and meal questions many of us have had since the announcement was made!
Please keep up the excellent work!
Melissa says
A great review! Thank you!
How long were you there from beginning to end?
Gigi says
Great review! Thank you for the amazing photos and descriptions of each adult (and one child’s!) entree. I get that this is a well-themed and highly sought after dining location, but I just can’t see spending $19.99 on any of these meals. While the pastry assortment is interesting, it isn’t enough to justify such an extreme upcharge. For example, the vegetable quiche costs $9.49 at lunch. That means the pastry assortment is “valued” at over $10 per person. I guess it depends on what you end up with in the assortment and how many people are expected to share it. I wouldn’t hesitate to go if it was $14.99, but $19.99 seems a little excessive.
Becky @ Disney in your Day says
I love these full menu reviews! I feel like they could’ve done more with that scrambled egg white plate. The addition of a croissant is not very exciting given that you get a pastry tray beforehand. I’m not a big breakfast eater but some of these look good, so I’d like to try it eventually.
Jon says
@Gigi,
Don’t forget drinks. so a $3 drink means the pastries are now only $7!
Although this is the issue with Prix Fixe, some entrees seem worthwhile as they would be worth around $12, but others at $9-10 mean the value of the whole meal goes down.
Kim says
When i read the menu at first the egg white scramble seemed good, but after this review i’m not sure if i want to order it. The eggs Florentine with the puff pastry shell looks pretty good.
Question: If you order apple juice- how many ounces is the bottle it comes in?
Lauren says
Hi do we know anything about getting gluten free options for breakfast? Were going in may and need gluten free options.
thank you
Michelle says
Any reviews yet for gluten free breakfast ?
Terri says
Thank you for your very thorough article. I will say it in my Disney file.
I have to say, though, it seems like a very complicated process just to order breakfast.
Katie says
Any idea when ADR’s for breakfast will open up for this summer/fall? I know it’s a test for now, but hoping you might have some inside info!
Cole says
Got reservations to this next week. I’m not on the dining plan, but I am still having trouble swallowing the fact that it is $20 for what you get. I realize that this is a unique experience and whatnot though.
I’m not sure if I’ll keep my reservation now. Does anyone know what happens if you have an 8AM reservation considering the park doesn’t open until 8 (if you’re an offsite guest). Do they still hold it while you head directly to it?
Bellamouse says
Yes, the menu is mega carb/wheat heavy. 🙁 How about a crustless quiche? What about people who don’t eat pastries? Surely there are LOTS of those (diabetics in addition to celiacs and other wheat sensitive people). We don’t eat all those “gluten free” substitues either, like rice flour, tapioca flour, etc. – they raise your blood sugar higher than plain sugar. SO unhealthy. We like to splurge now and again, but would like to be offered some real food to sustain us as we walk 10+ hours a day…
June says
As they deliver the pastries to the table, are you able to take them with you if you don’t eat them with your entree? Sounds like a great snack for later.
Thanks for this review. Before seeing the pictures and reading this, I too thought the egg whites sounded like a good option. They don’t look very appetizing. I think I’ll go with one of the other options and just eat less. Also, can you share entrees or is the price fixed per person?
Tara says
I can’t remember from lunch because I usually bring a bottled drink with me for the park, but if I order orange juice and they bring it to my table, can I still go make myself a cup of coffee? I am hazily remembering that their are cups by the beverage stations, but Ii don’t remember if someone was there checking receipts.
Sarah Preston says
We ate there on opening day and can answer a few questions based on our experience. We had three adults, a six-year-old, an eight-year old and an infant. We were staying off-site and had an 8:00am reservation. We arrived to the MK entrance at 7:30 am and were directed to a roped off area for early dining guests. The CM confirmed that we had a reservation and we were let into the park (with the other early dining guests) at 7:45 am. This gave us a little bit of time to wander through an empty park and take a few pictures. There are lots of CMs stationed along the way to make sure you don’t wander off. Our reservation was for 6 heads (they count the baby for fire safety reasons) but there was no pressure to order off the adult menu or off the kids menu. They did not ask how old my kids were (my 8-year old looks as if he could easily be at least 10). We ordered a milk and an apple juice and they came in small bottles with no refills — I want to say 8-10 oz bottles. The process for ordering was painless…it’s a touch screen menu with pictures and a CM is there to help you through it. The cups for the hot/cold beverages were by the serving stations and there was not anyone checking receipts when we were there. Everyone at our table got a cup of water, so there were 10+ cups on our table and none of the CMs said anything. We ordered the open-faced sandwich (2) and the eggs florentine and it was a lot of food. If you’re looking for “real food,” the open-faced sandwich is the way to go; even if you skip the baguette, you can fill up on the eggs, bacon, spinach, Brie, and fruit. Also, I saw the croissant donut go by and it was HUGE. We got two pastry platters, as pictured, with the chocolate croissant. The pastries come out with the rest of the food, not before, so we were not that interested in them. I don’t know why these don’t come out first thing…I defintely would have enjoyed a croissant with my coffee while I was waiting for my food. Our kids split the French toast and the scrambled eggs. I wish there was an option to add a side of bacon or sausage to the French toast…but splitting it between the kids worked okay. As for value, the whole concept of “money’s worth” is tricky at Disney. In this case, I was satisfied. The food was expensive, but was of high quality and tasted great. It may be cheaper at lunch, but we could not get an ADR for lunch or dinner, despite our best efforts. So the breakfast option gave us an opportunity to eat at Be Our Guest when we would not have otherwise. Our ticket was half the price of a character meal, and it’s not like my kids would have eaten more if we had gotten more food. The beverages were a great value, as the soda/coffee/tea were self-serve. We probably could have taken the extra pastries with us, but did not bother with it. We did take our out drinks with us. The atmosphere was great. We ate in the ballroom right next to the drink stations, and we did not feel the rush to give up our table like we usually do with character meals. We also were able to get into the park early for that “empty park experience.” I don’t think that this will be a “must-do” for our return visits, but it was definitely memorable for this trip.

Lovin that Cronut!
Anna says
AJ, do you think it’s possible to substitute some other cheese for the brie? My husband is allergic to it and there seems to be a lot of it on the menu. Thanks!
Melissa says
I saw in the My Disney Experience App in the menu section for breakfast that waffles are an option for breakfast. Do you know if waffles would be available by request, or did they opt not to put them in the final menu?
Chris says
$20 for a cronut or egg whites? This may be the worst value in the parks.
Galloping Gourmond says
This looks quality. I must try it next time I’m at WDW.
Suchada says
Can I order the grey stuff for lunch service?
Kerry says
I too am not a fan of brie so was wondering if there was a substitute. I also think the kids french toast sounds good. Wondering if you can get an adult portion. Also agree that the pastries should come out as you are seated. Otherwise it sounds as if many of them go to waste.
Virginia says
Quick question: If I am on the Quick Service Dinning Plan, do I have to make a reservation to go to BOG for breakfast (or lunch or dinner for that matter), or do I just show up and get my tray? I don’t want to miss this experience but would not want to walk to an overcrowded place and not be able to sit down and enjoy my meal at such a wonderful place!!!
Cartier says
I’m so confused as to how this works. It’s $19.99 per adult, but the pastry try is for the table to share? It would only be my daughter and I dining if they open reservations pass June, but I’m curious.
Rocky says
I think we must have been at a different place, we ate Breakfast there on Sat the 21st. The eggs on my Open faced Bacon & Egg sandwich were overdone. I prefer them a bit runny, but these were cooked like you’d get in an Egg McMuffin. My wife got the Meat & Cheese plate and only got 4 slices from the end of the baguette as well as 2 small pieces of brie. I’m not saying that it wasn’t delicious because it was, I wonder why the huge difference in plating. When the plates came we said, “That’s it?” To be honest, it did hold us over until Lunch which is what it is supposed to do.
Here is a link to a pic of our food before we started. BTW: the marmalade on the spice muffin was pretty good.

Has anyone tried requesting more pastries? (There will be 8 in my party, including 5 growing boys; those two pastry baskets aren’t going to be enough.)
Similarly, are sodas the only fountain drinks (with free refills)?

EXCELLENT REVIEW! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this great article and for the pictures. It really helps us to decide whether to have Breakfast at BOG or not. You have to remember; at Disney it’s not just about the food, but it’s also about the “experience”. So you are also paying for the “experience” along with the food. BOG has been a hit since it opened and a very hard ADR to get! Breakfast allows some to experience BOG for the very first time. So I think it’s great. I see a few offerings that I would like to try! We managed to get ADR’s there for Lunch when they opened up for our trip this Spring, so I don’t think we’ll be dong the Breakfast this time, but I will consider it for our next trip! Thanks again!
AJ says
Julie — We had 13 individual pastry pieces for 7 entrees — 6 adult and 1 child. If I had to guess (and that’s what I’m doing here 🙂 ), I’d say they allot 2 per adult and 1 per child on average, but our friend Mealtrip has some additional remarks a little further down that may be helpful to you. The sandwich was SO good!
Nick — There were no limitations the day we visited. There were only 3 people in our party, all adults, and we ordered 7 entrees (6 adult, 1 child).
Mealtrip — Wow! Your solo pastry tray sounds impressive! 🙂 Thanks for your review of the meal. It’s always great to hear about everyone’s experience.
Frank — You are so right!
Scott — Thanks so much for that info! When we first arrived for breakfast, we were told the Rose Gallery was closed, but later it opened. They definitely seem to be using it for overflow.
Wendy — Thanks for your input! We didn’t actually “test” Cast Members by making substitutions since we were after getting pictures and reviews of the available meals. That’s a great question though, and we’ll be sure to work on getting an answer.
Tracy — We paid adult price for the adult entrees, and children’s price for the child’s entree. Prix fixe only refers to a set price for each meal; it didn’t apply to who was eating or how many people were at the table.
Jocelyn — Thanks! We really did enjoy the food! We felt it was a cut above most counter service breakfast offerings.
Richard — Thanks so much for reading, and for the feedback!! 😀
Melissa — Welllll…we were busy with things like taking pictures from twelve angles, asking staff a million questions, etc. 😉 But we were there for about 90 minutes. Gaining entrance (5 minutes earlier than our ADR), ordering, and food delivery were all very speedy. Had we been worried about time, we would have been in and out in much less time.
Gigi — Thanks for reading! I think your value assessment is valid. Wendy does a great job in the review of doing a similar breakdown. I think it definitely comes down to value for the individual.
AJ says
Becky — Thanks so much —yep, we agreed that the Egg White offering could have been more interesting. Hopefully, they’ll agree and change it up a bit after this test phase.
Jon — HA!
Kim — I’m not sure, but I think it was at least 8 ounces (we spied one on another tray.) It may have been larger.
Lauren and Michelle — We did not inquire about gluten free options or other options for guests with special needs diets. However, we did see several managers and a chef on the floor, so I’m confident that Disney would have a plan in place to address these guest needs as they arise.
Terri — Thanks for reading! It may seem complicated, but it’s very similar to other counter service locations, with the exception that Advance Dining Reservations are offered because demand to eat at Be Our Guest is so great. I’d say give it a try if it looks good to you!
Katie — No word yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear something! Stay tuned! 😀
Cole — We lined up to the far left of the entrance in a roped off area for guests with dining reservations, and we were allowed entrance into the park at 7:45. It gave us more than ample time to get to Be Our Guest in time for our ADR. Good luck — let us know what you think if you keep the reservation!
Bellamouse — We hear you! Here’s hoping that after the initial test phase, they diversify the menu a bit and take into consideration the guest feedback that they receive.
June — We saw other guests leaving with pastries in to go boxes, so I think that’s totally possible (and an excellent idea)! You can share, and we had no trouble ordering a child’s entree, even though we didn’t have a child in our party. Prix fixe, in this case, refers to a set price for the entrees you order, rather than a limitation on the number entrees you can enjoy. The price is tied to what you order, not the number of people in your party.
Tara — You would be allotted one drink per entree. For our breakfast experience, there was staff stationed by the drink stations. In fact, one of our party ordered hot tea, and they gave her the cup, and then offered the box of teas for her to take one teabag.
Sarah — Thank you SO much for your thorough review!
Evelynn — It was delish!
Anna — I’m sure that Disney can accommodate your husband’s need for a substitute based upon his allergy, but I’m not sure if they would substitute another cheese or something else. Excellent question, though, and we’ll see if we can follow up.
Melissa — I don’t know of other entrees that were available. I have a feeling that they were fine tuning and testing the “test menu” until the very last minute.
Chris — It’s definitely not for everyone. 🙂
GG — We were definitely impressed with many of the offerings!
Suchada — You can still get the The Master’s Cupcake at lunch, yes. It’s topped with The Grey Stuff.
Kerry — I’m not sure about substitutions for a different cheese, and I believe the entrees are available as is during this testing phase. While I can’t answer about the adult portion of a child’s entree, it wouldn’t hurt to ask, as Disney is usually pretty accommodating.
Virginia — You would still want to get an Advance Dining Reservation to ensure that you can get a table. Good luck!
Cartier — All adult meals are $19.99 and all children’s meals are $11.99. In our experience, you can order as many meals as you’d like, but they are all going to be priced based upon whether they are adults’ or children’s meals. You’ll receive one pastry platter to share at a table for two. Hope this helps!
Elizabeth — We did not attempt to order additional pastries. Our understanding is that all drinks that are normally free refills — fountain drinks, coffee, tea — are free refills here.
Arlene — Thanks so much for reading! Have a GREAT trip!

Rocky — Thanks for sharing your pictures and review! Yes, this is something that we frequently encounter at Disney — inconsistency.

Wendy – soda for breakfast comment to your mom, cracked me up. Reminded me of my college days.
We are breakfast this morning and loved it. It was a great way to walk into the park prior to opening and walking leisurely back to Be Our Guest Restaurant. We even got several PhoyoPass pics.
We go back next month for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. April for us will be the first time we will dine at night.
Be Our Guest Restaurant is a must and our FAVORITE Magic Kingdom restaurant.

After a spontaneous decision to have a “Disney Day” on our upcoming trip in May to the “other” theme park in Orlando (I’m sorry, I just can’t be in Orlando without at least a DAY in my favorite place!), I tried in vain for days to get BOG breakfast ADRs online and using the My Disney Experience App. NO LUCK. Ugh. So, I took a shot in the dark and called Disney Dining, the old-fashioned way. Not only was the cheerful CM able to find me an ADR at the time I requested, but she even gave me a choice of 3 or 4 different times!
So, moral to the story, when trying to book online won’t work, do it the old-fashioned way! I really enjoyed speaking with the CM and I gave her high marks on the after-call survey.

We have a reservation for breakfast at 8:00AM. We have reservations for a haircut at 9:00AM at the harmony barbershop. Can anyone tell me if we’ll be able to do both? Concerned about the length of time breakfast will take. Thanks.

Chris B — I think you’ll be fine. We were in and out for our breakfast on opening morning in just over an hour, and that included tons of picture taking, touring, and discussing the dishes. Ordering and receiving our food all happened very quickly. Good luck!

What a wonderful review! I was excited to get an 8 AM reservation for DD & me and only two weeks from our MK day. I think the true value is the ability to enjoy the park before the crowd (on 9 AM park days) avoiding the rope drop madness and also then ability to get on rides before those at rope drop make it to Fantasyland. Would love to see Fifi’s French Toast pictures. We got notice today that we can pre-order our meal. Hope that speeds it up even more.

Does anyone know if they will still be serving breakfast in September and when I can make a reservation for be our guest breakfast for the end of september
Brooke says
Joe — Breakfast is currently in a test phase, and is only available as of today (I just checked) through June 18. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear if it’s to be extended beyond that date.

So i had breakfast here this morning and i wanted to share my experience: I arrived at BOG waaay late. So late i didn’t even think i would be served in time for breakfast (i ate lunch here earlier in the week and reaaaaally wanted to try breakfast) but luckily for me a manager was there at check in and said they were still serving breakfast. It was little after 10 and my table was the last for breakfast. My dad got the Quiche and i got the open faced sandwich. We loved both of them! The portion was filling and the fruit bowl was bigger than expected. But the best part was the pastry plate. The only reason why i wanted breakfast was for the pastries and this is why i wanted to comment my experience: our food got to the table within 5 minutes or so with no pastry plate!!! I was so sad, i thought our late seating was the reason. However, the cast member said it was a kitchen mistake and she’d be right back . A few minutes later another girl came to the table with our plate: 3 apple mini muffins and an entire cinnamon roll from Gaston’s tavern quartered and covered in a sugary glaze and the sauce they put on the cronut. I was so happy! But right after we got started, the original cast member who brought us our food returned with another plate with another cinnamon roll and more apple muffins! She didn’t realize someone had already brought us a plate. She said if we didn’t want it, it would have to get tossed out, so the two of us ended up with 2 plates of pastries (basically 2 huge cinnamon rolls and 5 muffins) . While that’s definitely not the norm, i think our late arrival is why we ended up with the cinnamon rolls. They were so yummy! Our second plate ended up in a togo box. I definitely prefer lunch to breakfast but i hope breakfast will last past the test phase. It was good food and being at BOG is really something special.

I am a true Disney food lover, and I was horribly disappointed with this breakfast. With the exception of things on the walls to look at, it is a mere food hall at breakfast time. Ordering is simple if you study the menu before hand and know exactly what you’re kids want ( which I did thankfully at the advice of a Dis blogger). If you have a non egg eater over the age of ten the only choice of entree is a $20 donut swimming in a sugary sauce, perfect start for a day at MK right? The open face egg sandwich is not a well laid plan. Its cold, the tomato is not cooked, the greens give it a weird taste, the bacon is not as crisp as the one in the above photo and the bread is so crusty its hard to cut with the provided butter knives. Drinks? A self serve center of styro cups and chaos. I was the lucky one at my table and ordered o.j, that was a small bottle of Simply Orange Juice. After tip this bill was over 100.00 , being our seventh time at WDW it is not the price that gets me. It’s what you get for the price, this was a rip! A cold egg sandwich, a flippin donut( sorry no justification that its made of croissant pastry, its still just a DONUT) no coffee mugs, juice glasses, characters or service!!

So first time and probably only time I’ll be able to go…I did actually get a breakfast reservation as everything else for the entirety of our visit was unavailable even 60 days out! I was excited to get the reservation but I’m wondering is it worth it with our party of 5?

We enjoyed our BoG breakfast in mid-April. My open-face sandwich had perfectly cooked (slightly runny) poached eggs and not-too-crunchy bread, so it was easy to cut. The slightly bitter greens were a pleasant contrast to the rich eggs and cheese. The rest of the family were happy with their choices, too.
Three other things helped make this experience worthwhile:
* We were able to get a primo table in the West Wing, right in front of the magic rose.
* We found that you could actually get 2 beverages per order, including kid’s meals. After selecting the regular beverages for the meals, I chose “Add-on Item” and was able to add a bottled water to each order. The screen read $0.0 for this, which proved to be true. Not sure if this is a glitch or intentional, but it was nice to have a few extra bottles of water to take into the park.
* Our 8:20 reservation had us leaving BoG just as 7DMT opened, so we walked right off the Beast’s bridge into Snow White’s forest, and were able to ride twice in a row with no wait! (Extra bonus: the early-morning light made the interior of the dwarfs’ cottage easier to see.)

Thank you Mamaleficent! Your review covered our exact plan! We have an 8:15 and want to catch 7DMT, and I am planning on ordering the sandwich with coffee and oj. Sounds like it will all work out fine!
