They’re finally back!
All of you who love to collect the popular Starbucks “You Are Here” Mugs can now finally add the Epcot Cup to your collection. The mugs are once again being sold in the Fountain View Starbucks location in Walt Disney World’s Epcot.
Starbucks and Disney originally introduced the joint collaboration mugs earlier this year, and debuted versions for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. (Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have a mug as well when the new Starbucks planned for that park opens soon.)
However, the Epcot mug was almost immediately removed from the shelves when it was noted that the monorail featured on the mug had a purple stripe in keeping with the cup’s color scheme. Monorail Purple was one of two trains involved in the 2009 fatal accident that took the life of pilot Austin Wuennenberg. After the accident, the train was retired.
When the mugs were removed, Disney and Starbucks promised to return an updated version to store shelves shortly. The new cups, which feature a grey train, went on sale earlier this week.
There’s little doubt that the mugs will be popular with guests and are likely to sell well. If you’re looking to complete a collection, keep in mind that similar mugs are also available for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

I’m not a Starbuck’s person necessarily, but I think that these are very nice little mugs and I would definitely get a set for my home.
Jess says
Yes I will be buying this! Is the inside gray instead of purple? I was fortunately able to get the purple version back in January before i realized it would be pulled. Purple is my favorite color so that one is my favorite. I must have a complete collection of these even though this is similar to the other one I just love these mugs! I can’t wait until i can get Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom ones to complete my set bI also got the California ones too. I love them all!

We were at WDW and thinking about getting a couple but decided to wait. A few days after we got home they announced the mug was pulled…
Man, talk about bad timing…
Nicole says
Is Starbucks stamped on the mug? Love the mug (especially the gray and purple) – dislike Starbucks…

I will definitely be getting one! I’m a huge purple fan.
Diann says
So glad they are selling them again, I will definitely buy one!!! Purple is my favorite color!!
Alfred says
Can these be bought outside of the parks at Starbucks
Richard says
We saw the Disneyland ones for sale at the Downtown Disney Starbucks but not at the two off site Starbucks we visited. Yeah, we are big on Starbucks…
Kim says
@ Jess, this mug is exactly the same as the old one, they just replaced monorail purple with silver. I’m so happy they’re back and they didn’t change the design! There was no way in the world I’d support the money mongers asking 200+ for their ‘collectibles’. Personally, I didn’t see a need to pull the mug to start with. If you look at the color it was a very different color than the deep tone of Monorail purple.

I don’t drink coffee at all but I really love the design on these mugs! Can they be purchased empty or do I have to buy a coffee?
Brooke says
Celia — You don’t have to buy coffee. 🙂 Hope you’re able to pick one up!

I so want these mugs; this one in particular. Hopefully by the time we make it down there again, they’re still selling them! (I know you can get them online through those Disney shopping sites, but I’m not paying an extra $10 plus shipping). Any word on if you can order them through Disney’s merchandise phone line?
Nancy says
Did the price of these re released mugs go up? Are they $19.95 vs. the previous $14.95?
Pam says
If you can purchase this mug outside of Disney World, please tell me what Disney site I can find them.

Picked one of these up to go with the collection of the starbucks mugs to show friends where we have been. The mug is exactly the same as the one that got pulled and as the picture shown in the article.
