More fantastic news coming out of Disney Springs today, all!! We’ve got confirmation on several other restaurants joining the line-up at the new and improved Downtown Disney location in Orlando!
While we’ll be covering each and every one of these as they open, here’s a sneak peek at what’s right around the corner for Disney Springs.
The Edison
Inspired by The Edison venue in Los Angeles, this lavish “Industrial Gothic” -style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination is themed to a 1920s-period power plant, recalling an exuberant era of invention and imagination. It will feature classic American food, craft cocktails, and live entertainment including cabaret and music.
Sprinkles
The world’s first cupcake bakery, as named by Food Network and others, serves up handcrafted cupcakes, slow churned ice cream and homemade cookies. I have a Sprinkles locally where I live, and I will never admit to ordering a dozen cupcakes for delivery even when I was home alone…so don’t even try.
These aren’t as good as my beloved Magnolia cupcakes in NYC, but they are a fantastic fill-in here in Dallas. I know they’ll be a hit in Disney Springs.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is a
modern day “pizza joint” known for its custom-built artisanal pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s’more pies. The fast-casual restaurant features an interactive assembly-line format that allows guests to customize their pizza (so…Subway, but for pizza), choosing from over 40 toppings – all for one price. The 11-inch pizzas are “fast-fired” in an open-flame oven and ready in just 180 seconds.
FYI — one of these is opening very soon just across town where I live, so I’ll be sure to head over there and do a review before the one in Disney Springs opens.
Vivoli Gelateria
Vivoli Gelateria serves gelato made with fresh, seasonal ingredients; panini sandwiches; and espresso drinks.
Tea Traders Café by Joffrey’s
Tea Traders Café by Joffrey’s specializes in premium loose-leaf teas (hot, iced, blended) featuring customs blends, accessories, and packaged teas from all over the globe; created to go or for a tea experience in the café.
STK Orlando
STK Orlando will offer a modern twist on the traditional American steakhouse featuring a sleek lounge with a DJ and rooftop dining. At approximately 14,000 square feet, the Orlando outpost will be one of the largest STK locations.
Morimoto Asia
World-renowned chef Masaharu Morimoto and the Patina Restaurant Group (who also run several restaurants in Disney World and Disneyland, including Via Napoli and Tutto Italia in Epcot) will open Morimoto Asia, Morimoto’s first Pan-Asian restaurant.
Morimoto Asia’s culinary elements will provide flavors from across Asia, while exhibition kitchens will showcase the continent’s traditions. Included among them are street-food stalls, Peking duck carving, and dim sum.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar
As we mentioned in a previous DFB post, this Indiana Jones themed location will surely be a hit with Disney guests. This aviation- themed lounge will feature unique drinks and small plates.
Themed décor like propeller-based ceiling fans, vintage travel posters and correspondence between Jock and Indy will be among the imagineering details.
So there’s what we can expect coming down the pike to Disney Springs, folks! There will surely be more details, news, and information coming soon, but so far we’re pretty excited!
Which restaurant are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!
Adrienne says
All I want from Disney Springs at this point is just one club that plays EDM but also has a fun, interactive atmosphere where people in their twenties can have a good time without worrying about kids and/or old people.
Craig Judge says
I’m a pizza and beer kinda guy so Blaze and Jock Lindsey’s look worth a visit.
Any ideas of rough opening dates?? We’ll be at Disney in October.
Kathy says
My eight year old loves Cupcakes Wars and can’t wait for Sprinkles! Thanks for the news!
Sandy says
I’m excited for all of it! But especially Blaze, Sprinkles, and the Edison. I’m looking forward to trying them all!
Cartier says
They should have a salon. I may be saying that because I’m a hairstylist, but I think it’s a great idea especially for those who aren’t staying on the property
Essie says
I’ve had my two faves at DTD for years now, but it’s going to be hard choosing now with all of these new choices coming. It will be fun trying them out.
Keith says
Looking forward to Morimotos, The Edison, and STK to go along with the Boathouse…the farther away we can get from the ubiquitous generic eateries, the better.
tim says
I am not surprised by Edison coming. A lot of imaginers in California love the one in L.A.
Susan says
We have a Blaze where I live in SoCal. It’s great! I hope Sprinkles is open when I visit in August.
Katie says
I’ve eaten at Blaze here in Cincinnati —- and it is wonderful!!!! All of the toppings are incredibly fresh and tasty, and you can’t beat the $7.25 price (for as many toppings as you want!) This will be a great option for Disney Springs and will hopefully lessen the Earl’s crowd.
Tricia says
Looking forward to Blaze Pizza. I loved them in Detroit.
Marie says
I just checked out the menu of the LA Edison… and I am excited. “Algonquin #2: 103 Proof Bourbon, Pineapple Gum, Dry Vermouth, Chocolate Bitters, Orange Zest.” Yes, please. And the dessert menu?! “Pan-fried sandwiches filled with Peanut Butter and Banana (or Nutella and Banana), served with Cajeta Caramel.” I anticipate having a new favorite relaxation spot at WDW!
Beth says
Looks like the restaurants in Disney Springs (I still prefer Downtown Disney) will be more diverse and have more interesting food than the ones in the parks and hotels
The Colonel says
meh…I wouldn’t waste any time going to DTD. They gutted it when they took out PI and now it’s just a glorified shopping mall.
Pat Heney says
Definitely Jock’s and Sprinkles!
Sarah says
These options are so diverse and exciting! I can’t wait to explore the Springs over the next few years.
Roman says
I’m very much looking forward to Sprinkles Cupcakes, here in chicago we also have both Sprinkles and Magnolia Bakery and IMHO sprinkles is much more consistent/better cupcake! I hope they have some exclusive flavors!
tom mix says
They all look to me as if they will not fit into my budget.
Randy says
I second that Adrienne! I don’t want to be around you 20 something year olds who have your attitude and would prefer you go somewhere I don’t have to see or be around you either.
