Two MAJOR events are kicking off today at Disney Parks on both coasts in a BIG way!
Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on the west coast and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on the east coast are pulling all-nighters once again! All three parks are open today, May 22nd, from 6 am and they’re not closing until the following morning at 6 am.
That means 24 straight hours of fun and FOOD!
That’s right… the 24-Hour Day that started in 2012 for One More Disney Day continued in 2013 to launch a Monstrous Summer. Last year we Rocked our Disney Side, and now what was originally presumed to be a one-time gig is now a start-of-summer tradition!
Things are working a little differently this year, though, thanks to the 60th Birthday of Disneyland. While folks in Disney World are kicking off the “Coolest Summer Ever,” Disneyland guests will begin the official celebration of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration!
As for us here at the DFB, we’re celebrating BOTH! We’ll be updating this post throughout the day with pics from our awesome DFB Readers, as well as MY pictures from right here in Walt’s original park, Disneyland!
Oh, and… HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Disneyland
Check out the pre-opening crowds (and the 24 Hour MICKEY EARS!!) in the early wee hours ready for the party to start at Disneyland!! Many thanks to Bill Cody (@VegasBiLL) for the pics!
TWENTY-FOUR HOURS!!
Look who got all dressed up for the big Diamond Celebration!
And I’m loving Minnie’s beautiful diamond bow!
And I know this is just a cup… but it is SO NOT just a cup! Disneyland guests will be spotting these beauties for their beverages!
What the Specialty 24-Hour Celebration Dopey Cupcake says is totally true…
Don’t forget that special treats are
ALL OVER Disneyland today! Bill Cody (@VegasBiLL) snapped this shot of a display of some of the celebratory food.
That was before he stopped by Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe to enjoy this scrumptious Egg and Bacon Croissant.
There are more breakfast goodies than you can shake a stick at around here… @guyselga started the day with this breakfast sandwich over at White Water Snacks!
I enjoyed a glass of Honey Bee Frozen Lemonade from Hungry Bear Restaurant.
And beyond breakfast… how about some Creamy Corn Chowder in a Mickey Bread Bowl from French Market Restaurant?
Oh, my… @DisneyandBeyond got to try the Fried Chicken and Waffles at Plaza Inn! And if I may quote: “Waited longer than I did for Star Tours for these, but well worth the wait!”
Aaaand I’m officially jealous: Milestogo Prevention enjoyed a double whammy: the Mac and Cheese Pizza at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, AND a new Dinoco Oil Can Sipper!
Oh, and souvenir Diamond Celebration glow cubes can be added to specialty drinks around the park!
I picked up a couple of sips at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe: The Very Berry Iced Tea…
… and the Frozen Pomegranate Silver Sparkler.
Mine came with the souvenir Diamond Glow Cube, and here it is in action!!
Speaking of souvenirs…
I think I’m in love with the Disneyland Balloon Popcorn Bucket!
And have you seen the Disneyland Stein brought out for the occasion? Thanks, Bill (@VegasBiLL) for the pic!
Anyone up for a little lunch at Blue Bayou?
Ahh, it’s good to be back in Disneyland. I’ve missed these guys!
It’s a perfect day for capturing LOTS of memories… be on the lookout for Diamond Celebration photo spots!
All sorts of surprises are popping up around the park!
And outside of the parks, too!
The fun is happening in every corner!
And it’s always fun making a few friends along the way… from the Rebel Alliance, naturally :)!
If this isn’t THE. COOLEST. HAIR. EVER!!!
And let’s have one more look at that sparkling Diamond Celebration Castle, shall we?
Of course, as fun as all that is (and it is!), I think a lot of people agree with me that there’s nothing quite like being in any of the parks at night.
So as we wrap up our day (aw, who am I kidding? There’s still a few hours to go!), let’s see what are our friends on the east coast are up to!
Disney World
You simply can’t forget the most important meal of the day if you’re going to be rolling for 24 hours 🙂 . Our friends @laughing_place.com sent this pic of breakfast in Tomorrowland!
Thanks to @WDWTableFinder for a glimpse at these Tomorrowland Cinnamon Rolls!!
Caffeine fix, anyone? It’s a great idea… thanks to @StephenMcD40 for the shot!
And @AdamDale has already called the first “SNACK TIME”!!! Not a bad choice, if I do say so myself…
Of course, anytime is a great time for a Dole Whip break! So, Dole Whips and Pirates it is for our friends @wonderandco !
The day marches on, and you gotta stay well-fueled, like @jeremiahgood for lunch time!
I don’t know what I like best about this second shot we received from @StephenMcD40… the awesome “Coolest Summer Ever” Cupcake in front, or spying Goofy in the background!
We’ll be updating this post throughout the day, so STAY TUNED!! And send YOUR pics to @disneyfoodblog on twitter, facebook.com/disneyfoodblog, @disneyfoodblog on instagram, or to [email protected]!

Hi
Do you have any photos of the plastic souvenir drink mugs that you get from the snack or popcorn carts ? I’m a big collector of these. I kinda see one in the photo above of the Diamond Food Display. But it way in the back next to the Mickey balloon popcorn bucket. If anyone a better pic I’d love to see it.
Thanks Lisa
