For all you breakfast-lovers, we’ve got some Animal Kingdom updates for ya.
While guests to Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been able to enjoy an assortment of breakfast items at Pizzafari (a convenient stop on a trek toward Africa!), the breakfast offerings have been discontinued as of June 17, 2015.
With the opening of the Animal Kingdom Starbucks on Discovery Island last week, Pizzafari has returned to an 11:00AM opening time.
For other breakfast options in Animal Kingdom, stop by Starbucks and Kusafiri Bakery.
Was Pizzafari a breakfast stop for you? Let us know in the comments below!

We would have breakfast at Pizzafari at least once on each (two-week) trip. The stuff at Starbucks is pretty lousy (and the lines can be terrible), so I guess we’ll just have something in the room on AK days from now on. Sadly, we’re down to only Epcot having a real CS breakfast available.

This is so sad to hear. My friends and I loved going to Pizzafari for a quick breakfast. They had interesting offerings and accepted tables in wonderland! 🙁

I liked the kids breakfast pizza and enjoyed that their options seemed different than other places. I can get starbucks sandwiches at home. I wish they would make something special at starbucks or offer more breakfast options (more than cookies or cupcakes) or keep the breakfast at pizzafari. While i like the theme park mugs at starbucks i have no need for starbucks in disney since i get it at home. I know some people love it but i like Joffreys coffee better and wished i could get that at home.

This is pretty heartbreaking really. We quite often had breakfast at Pizzafari on our AK days because we LOVED the breakfast platter! It was substantial enough to set us up for the rest of the day, and our favourite bit was the biscuit (which we can’t get in the UK), which we then soaked in maple syrup and saved till last cuz it was the best – yum!
Such a pity – we are not fans of Starbucks really, (they over-roast their coffee, in my opinion), but with the lack of decent breakfast options both here and in the Studios, it looks like we may have to either have something before we leave the resort, (which we are usually too excited to do, wanting to get to the parks a.s.a.p.), or suck it up and go to Starbucks. 🙁

We always eat breakfast at Pizzafari. It is quite, a lot of room to sit and fun to look around all of the rooms. The food is good and filling to start the day of with. We will miss doing that and will now eat at our resort food court. We are not fans of Starbucks. There is no place in them to sit and enjoy breakfast or any thing for that matter and we don’t care for there coffee. Very sorry to hear of Pizzafari closing for breakfast!

I too will miss Pizzafari breakfast. It was something different that made me excited to go to the park to eat. Starbucks really isn’t an adequate substitution, especially since everything they serve in the parks I can get in my Starbucks back home. There’s nothing special about it.

We often would eat breakfast there when we arrived at park opening. Love the cheerful atmosphere and the lack of crowds early in the day. We’ve had some pretty nice conversations with CMs there too. Starting our AK day with a breakfast platter and juice surrounded by all those fantastic animals is something we’ll miss.
Not Starbucks fans at all.

Please, what does CS mean in “Sadly, we’re down to only Epcot having a real CS breakfast available.”?
I hate when Disney substitutes original and/ or themed eateries for chain restaurantes like Starbucks. What’s special and magical about eating in a place that you can find in many other places? When they changed Main Street Bakery into a Starbucks location it was sacrilege to me. I want immersive experiences at Disney parks. Now what are they going to give us? McDonald’s inside Cinderella Castle?!

CS means Counter Service…As far as Pizzafari goes..Never had it, guess I never will now. We prefer to eat in the room or at our resort before heading out to the parks.
Brooke says
Marcos — “CS” stands for counter service.

Of course! Thank you Scott and Brooke.

I agree, have always loved Pizzafari. I don’t drink coffee and hate all the build-up about Starbucks. You can get that anywhere, but not the breakfast platter at Pizzafari.

Pizzafari was a big hit with our family. Never missed eating there whenever in Animal Kingdom. Love the quick service, relaxed atmosphere, clean, cool and efficient and affordable.
