Not sure if you’ve noticed, but…um…it’s HOT.
And a couple of weeks ago when I was wandering Hollywood Studios checking out the latest menus and Frozen extravaganzas, I popped into The Trolley Car Cafe to see if anything had changed in their bakery case.
Nothing had, but I DID see a new sign up on the wall advertising a couple of icy new drinks. And because it was dead in there (I guess because nobody was thinking they should go to Starbucks for a coffee in the middle of July in Orlando), the delightful Cast Members and I started to discuss… .
Starbucks Strawberry Açaí Refresher
If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting a Disney Starbucks yet, we’ll give you a quick rundown. Each of the Disney Parks locations are themed after they Park in which they’re in, and each location has its own unique name and theme.
For more about The Trolley Car Cafe and its terrific retro decor, which you’ll find conveniently located at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards, check out our first look post about this spot. (Want to know about the other WDW theme park Starbucks stops? We have pages for Main Street Bakery, Fountain View Cafe, and Creature Comforts too.)
So, back to that new sign I saw! It was advertising Summer offerings at the ‘bucks. And while the Mango Black Iced Tea Lemonade had a lot going on, the Strawberry Açaí Refresher piqued my interest.
In the last couple of years, Starbucks has rolled out a family of drinks called Refreshers. While the drinks are fruit-flavored, they actually contain caffeine, thanks to Green Coffee Extract. So while you won’t necessarily taste coffee, you’ll still get a little pop of energy to help you through your day.
Those Cast Members I mentioned were urging me to give it a try, saying it was brand new. “But,” they said, “you’ve got to have it with lemonade instead of water.” Sounded great to me! (Seriously, why would this be any good with water??)
The Cast Member commenced to shaking my drink up fresh for me.
Even though I had it made with lemonade, it looked pretty similar to the pic on the board.
Apparently, the strawberries are actually dehydrated to start with, and quickly plump back up as you sip. They’re fun, but they are potential straw blockages, so be aware. ;-D
The flavors were a nice balance of sweet and tart. It wasn’t cloyingly sweet, which I really appreciated on a hot, humid day.
It went down very quick and very easy! I’d probably ask for it with less ice next time so that I actually had more to drink.
Now you guys know I’m not a HUGE coffee drinker, so I’m not a regular at Starbucks. But I really enjoyed the Strawberry Açaí Refresher and wouldn’t mind popping in for another — especially when it’s 95 with 95% humidity in Orlando like it often is this time of year.
Have you tried Starbucks’ Strawberry Açaí Refresher? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of this drink!

I enjoyed the Strawberry Acai Refreshers on two occasions in the Magic Kingdom. This drink was very tasty (water version) and refreshing. I wasn’t aware of the caffeine in it. Bummer! I was hoping this would be a good choice for an afternoon treat. I’ll have to try it with lemonade sometime when I can use some caffeine.

It sounds delicious, but sheesh, is that cup really as teeny, tiny as it looks?????

the question is: why grande is less expensive than tall on the board? Probably a typo mistake, but it’s funny
