There is so much happening in Downtown Disney as it moves forward in the transition towards becoming Disney Springs, the landscape seems to be changing by the day!
Thankfully, the @WDWDowntown Twitter account has made it easier to keep track of all the goings-on, and here are just a few of the most recent updates, from construction happenings to a menu change. (Editor’s Update: Downtown Disney is now officially Disney Springs! Therefore, the official Twitter account is now: @DisneySprings.)
First, signage is now in place for Morimoto Asia, slated for a fall opening in The Landing of Disney Springs!
Second, for those who’ve been wondering (like myself), “So, when does the new name of Disney Springs officially kick in?”, there is evidence that it’s coming SOON… the famous purple transportation signs throughout Disney World are starting to display the name!
According to a recently updated Downtown Disney map, the name change will officially take place sometime later this year, even before the full transformation is complete in 2016.
Finally, Superstar Catering, the Disney Food Truck inspired by fare at Hollywood Studios, has had another menu update.
The Salmon BLT with chili-lime mayo and housemade chips appears to be inspired by Sci-Fi Dine-In, while the barbecue beef brisket of the Dueling Sliders takes its cue from the updated menu at Studio Catering Co.
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is known for its selection of flatbreads (as well as being a hidden gem for a great steak), so a Mushroom Flatbread makes the list.
And Shrimp & Lobster Macaroni & Cheese with a gouda lobster bisque sauce gives a nod to a frequent option on the buffet at Hollywood & Vine.
You get a little bit of everything from the @WDWDowntown twitter account. Be sure to follow along with the fun! (Editor’s Update: Downtown Disney is now officially Disney Springs! Therefore, the official Twitter account is now: @DisneySprings.)

Well, I love the EOS and the pizza at WPE, but I’m anxious just to try out some of all these new food and snack possibilities. Not so much the TS spots, but sampling all of the QS and trucks and treats…..too many calories. LOL
