Big nooz! Reports note that Morimoto Asia will open its doors at Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs) on September 30! Reservations may be available via Open Table beginning September 16.
From the beginning, we’ve heard details that Morimoto Asia would feature a full panoply of Asian flavors, with special experiences throughout the soaring space of the restaurant. Today, we’re getting even more detail.
Guests can take in culinary experiences on two floors of dining space, which will include an exhibition kitchen, lounges, expansive dining rooms, and outdoor terraces overlooking water views. A second floor sushi bar offers fourteen seats and a separate entrance.
Guests can take advantage of a menu boasting an array of Asian influences, and including Chef Morimoto’s interpretation of several classic Asian dishes, like Kung Pao Chicken, Lobster Chow Fun, Sweet and Sour Crispy Whole Fish, Peking Duck, and Moo Shu Pork.
A Dim Sum menu will be available during weekend brunch times, and the children’s menu includes fun and inviting options with an Asian influence, such as Karaage Fried Chicken.
The Beverage Menu will feature many Asian beers available on draft and by the bottle. Sake will figure prominently into the line up as well. There will also be a full menu of wines from around the world as well as signature cocktails and plenty of non-alcoholic drinks.
Morimoto will join the BOATHOUSE in The Landings, the area of Disney Springs where Pleasure Island was once located. To have a first look at Morimoto, you may be able to begin booking your reservations on September 16 via Open Table. We’re hoping that 407 WDW DINE will offer Advance Dining Reservations on September 30th.
The restaurant will be open daily from 11:30AM to 2:00AM, and will serve lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends.
We anticipate that the restaurant will offer a soft opening ahead of reservations, however, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more details!
Will you be enjoying dinner at Morimoto Asia in the near future? Leave a comment and tell us what you think of this new dining experience!

Oooh!
Do you know if Morimoto Asia will accept Disney gift cards as payment?

Hi AJ-
Any idea if sushi will be featured?

Do you know what time on the 16th we can start making reservations? We arrive on September 30th and would love to be one of the first to get to dine. I have been hopping it would open Thanks

Definitely hoping for ADRs. I’ve been anxiously awaiting news of its opening, and still hoping that Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will be open by then too! I’d love to do both in one night.

Keith — Ha ha; you’ll definitely see a review within the first month (though I do get a lot of criticism for reviewing restaurants when they first open). Have you been to Capa and Ravello? You’re more than welcome to do a guest review on either if you’re interested in getting the word out. 🙂
Ahsan says
will be keen to see the review of this … and will hopefully visit there on my upcoming vacation. 🙂

Very disappointed to see that the food has been dumbed down from Morimoto’s traditional offerings. Having been to his restaurant in Philadelphia I am upset it has veered so far from what he is capable of offering.

Reservations are available on Open Table. Just booked a table for two on 29 Oct 15.
