Are you ready for one huge hunka-hunka cupcake? Because THAT’S what you’ll get with the King Cupcake, our latest #OnTheList item found at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

Elvis Presley has no shortage of diehard fans to this day, but it appears he was quite the fanboy himself… particularly of a good ol’ peanut butter and banana sandwich. But it didn’t stop there — he was also known to enjoy this classic combo with bacon.
So what is a Disney Resort food court (Everything Pop) that’s dedicated to all things pop culture to do, but combine all of these elements — plus a few more — in a cupcake?

That’s right… the King Cupcake is a chocolate cupcake filled with banana custard and topped with (what?!?){ peanut butter icing, then sprinkled with a generous amount of candied bacon and drizzled with chocolate, athankyaveruhmuch.

In further tribute to Mr. Presley, the cupcake is topped off with a white chocolate guitar pick.

If the list of ingredients gives you pause… well, you’re not alone.

But take it from me, the sweetness from the chocolate and creamy banana custard is balanced well by the peanut butter frosting (heaven.) and hint of salt from the candied bacon.

This has been on my list for quite a while… Staying at Pop next month so I’ll finally get to try it!!
On our last stay in May, we I made SURE that I grabbed a King Cupcake from Pop! on our way to the airport. The CM who sold it to me packed it very carefully in a specially designed cupcake container and said, “There! Now it will survive the trip home!” She was wonderful! And you know what? It DID! And it was DELICIOUS!
I am looking forward to trying this for the first time in a couple of months! The plan is to purchase it from the food court on the way to the room one night for breakfast the next morning (don’t judge, I’m on vacation..lol)! 🙂
Is there anywhere else to get the king cupcake? The parks, Starbucks??

I literally just had the king cupcake. Doesn’t have the guitar pic chocolate piece or the banana filling in it? It was labeled the king… Does anyone know if they changed the recipe, or did I just get ripped off!?
