In early September, we gave you a Sneak Peek of the Disney-branded allergy-friendly snacks that were — at the time — on their way to Disney Parks at an undetermined date. Well, that date is now here… the “Snacks with Character” line is now officially available throughout Disney Parks!
At the time, we sampled the Chocolate Chip Crunchy Cookies, but now a full line is available, offering alternative choices for guests seeking other options due to allergies or lifestyle choice. We’ve spied a few more items that have cropped up over the past few weeks as well, and options include items like Lemon Burst Cookies, Dark Chocolate Bars, and Chocolate Sunseed Bars.
The line was created by a partnership of Disney Theme Park Merchandise with several suppliers like Enjoy Life Foods, Way Better Snacks and WOW Baking Company (options created with Ocean Spray will debut later this year).
There are currently 11 snacks in the line, and while different products will meet different needs, some of the focus is on nut-free and gluten-free snacks.
Our previous experience with the Chocolate Chip Crunchy Cookies showed how the packages prominently display which needs are addressed under the nutritional information.
Best of all, some of our favorite Disney pals grace the packaging (not just Mickey, but so far Goofy and Donald Duck, too!), making these an especially fun option for kids with allergies who have had to go without a Mickey-bedecked snack in previous visits.
Merchandise spots will offer your best bet for finding these treats (though select food and beverage locations will carry them, too), and guests traveling with Disney Cruise Line or visiting Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, will find these items available as well.
What are your thoughts on this latest development in allergy-friendly dining at Disney Parks? Please let us know with a comment!

My friend and I shared the 2 kinds of chips (which I don’t see listed here) this weekend and they were AWESOME! We were hoping to find them in big bags to take home 🙂
Dan says
I’m questioning how allergy friendly these are. There is a nut allergy warning on that bag pictured above.
Chrissy says
@Dan: That’s because it’s nut/seed mix. If you’re allergic to it, don’t eat it.
Linda says
I’m so excited about these. My daughter has 3 allergies and it has been a bit of a struggle. Now something for my daughter to snack on while in the park. Yay!
donna says
I agree Dan. It does have a nut warning and it is not the nut seed bar it is the lemon burst cookie. It states it is manufactured in a facility that also processes nuts. since this is made by snacks with character I would then assume that all the products may be made in a facility that processes nuts. This is a danger for some people with severe allergies. As always reading the entire bag even the tiniest print is an absolute must!
Bubbles says
Donna and Dan,
The snacks are made by separate manufacturers. If you’ll notice, the cookies in question are produced by a company that focuses on gluten-free items, and therefore they are made in a facility with nuts. However, if you would read the previous, more in-depth posting on this matter (http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/09/09/sneak-peek-new-disney-branded-allergy-friendly-snacks/ and also immediately linked below) you’d see that there are plenty of items made in dedicated nut-free facilities. Read more carefully.
David says
If the nut warning on the cookies above is for the lemon cookies, then that reinforces what is on the front of the packaging.
You’ll notice that the small packs of cookies and chocolate bars show a nut free symbol on the front, but the lemon cookies do not. I’m guessing
David says
Continued… I’m guessing that the smaller packs are made by another vendor than the large cookie packs. Enjoy Life does make a nut free crunchy chocolate cookie, so it is probably from them instead of WOW (different companies, different lines).
That said there will always need to be diligence with food allergies, so just because one “Snacks with Character” product is safe doesn’t mean the whole line is. However these offerings will make my life easier when we visit in the Spring, so I am grateful. Hopefully they can look into peanut-free ice cream bars next!
Emma says
The Enjoy Life cookies made a great option for when I couldn’t eat any of the desserts on a QS menu (dairy-free), having it be Donald Duck branded is even better! Looks like I have a choice of 2 chocolate bars too.
Laura says
Does anyone know where exactly I can find these in the parks? Thanks!
Tina says
Very pleased that there are some sugar free options available at restaurants and a couple of ice cream stands. They are all delicious. However, I feel that they are too few and too far apart. Also, if there is Diet Coke available, there should also be a caffeine free option, as well.

My wife is a celiac and tossed a bag of the “Snack with Character” chips in with a few other items. Upon review the small bag containing 6 chip cost $3.49 While I applaud Disney for offering a few GF items, I was disappointed by the price gouging. You can buy a 3lb bag of Tostitos for about $3.00 at the grocery store.
LaurTA says
I was so happy when I saw these this week, and then immediately crushed when I read the bars have honey in them. It’s so disappointing and it makes me so annoyed since there is really no reason to have that in there.
Joann K says
Can these items be ordered online?
DFB Sarah says
Joann K., if you search for Disney Snacks with Character, you’ll likely find some third parties selling them online. I do not see them on ShopDisney, unfortunately.
Michelle says
This is awesome! So excited but I didn’t notice if they were NON-GMO?
DFB Sarah says
Michelle, some (if not all) of these snacks are labeled non-GMO on the back of the packages. I’ll check with our on-site team to confirm if all of them are or just some.
