If you are hoping to add a special dining experience to your next trip to the Disneyland Resort, the new Afternoon Tea coming to Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel may be just the thing. Beginning January 22nd, Steakhouse 55 will host mid-day tea experiences from Noon to 3 p.m.
Guests can choose their experience from three parties: The Classic Tea Party, the Premium Tea Party, and the Kids’ Tea Party.
The Classic Tea Party/Package (priced at $50) features traditional scones, tea sandwiches, desserts, and, of course, tea. Each of the parties offers guests the chance to select from one dozen special teas, which includes Twinings teas, caffeine-free and loose-leaf options, and “herbal-infused creations.”
The Premium Tea Party/Package (priced at $65) includes sparkling wine, scones, salad, tea sandwiches, desserts, choice of tea and a Farewell truffle.
The third party/package is specifically geared towards the little ones: the Kids’ Tea Party/Package includes scones, tea sandwiches, desserts, and teas (or milk or hot chocolate, if preferred). The cost for the Kids’ Tea Party is $35.
According to Disney, vegan and gluten-free options will also be available. Interested guests can call (714) 781-DINE or visit Disneyland.com, where reservation options are currently displaying for select dates from January 22nd through March 4th.

Is the afternoon tea a character tea?

We are going on our very first DLR trip this summer and I was just thinking having tea would be fun. We’ve done the tea at the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian. We loved it. I wish they had some of the special tea that they have at the GF. It was so good! I will be interested to see a review of this to see if it’s worth going to. 🙂

Hello, I have a reservation for the afternoon tea on Feb 13th. Do you think you are going to do a review before that time. I would love to read it so I can decide which tea to get. Thanks
Brooke says
Jenny — I don’t think we will have a chance to get there before your reservation. If you get the chance, let us know how you like it! 🙂
Melissa says
Is the children’s tea the same price for both an adult and child? $35 for an adult I can see but would have a hard time shelling out that kind of money for PB&J for a four year old.
Jenny says
Hi Melissa, I got the Kids Tea when we went and I can tell you a four year old will not be able to eat it all. $35 is the price of the Kids, and it comes with a chocolate chip scone, the PB & J, a ham sandwich and the cucumber. Also the pastries which they give you a strawberry , a fruit tart and cookies. You also can get Hot Chocolate or Juice instead of the tea. You only get one scone but it is bigger than the 2 you get with one of the other Teas.

I made a reservation for 4. There will be 2 adults and 2 kids. For the kids tea party, will I need to make a separate reservation for them, or do I let them know once I check in for the reservation?
DFB Sarah says
S. Mendoza: You are fine with your reservation for four and can order as you wish when you’re seated. Enjoy!http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php?paged=2#comments-form
