Today, we’re bringing you exciting news about lots of new flavor coming to Disney Springs in the very near future!
It looks like many of the spots that we’ve been waiting (not so patiently) to learn more about will be opening in time for the Summer rush. Opening for these spots is to begin in phases on May 15, 2016.
We’ve already told you about Frontera Fresco by Chef Rick Bayless (there’s a BIG update here) and Homecoming by Chef Art Smith. But today, we’re sharing the latest news of a couple of brand new spots like STK, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and more — as well as an update on Fulton’s Crab House! And — oh yeah — here’s the scoop on the Coca-Cola Store too!
Coca-Cola Store
We’ve been wondering right along with you: would the Coca-Cola Store announced for Disney Springs (and heck, you can see it going up over the walls) be just a store? Or would it be like the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta?
Well, it appears that the former is the case — but with a hefty dose of Disney magic to set it apart. The spot is inspired by a 1920s-era bottling plant, in keeping with the historic vibe of Disney Springs, and it will feature a wide array of Coca-Cola themed merch. But in addition to the retail space, you can look forward to “A Coca-Cola Polar Bear Experience” (nope, we don’t know that that is, either). And…there will be a rooftop bar! We can’t wait to see if they do something fun with the menu here.
Sprinkles Cupcakes and Cupcake ATM
We lurve Sprinkles Cupcakes and get them often here in Dallas, so I’m excited to know that I’ll be able to get my fix in Orlando as well. And the big news? This cupcakery will offer one of their famous cupcake ATMs at the Disney Springs location. Cupcakes on demand? Sign me up!
D-Luxe Burger
We’re seeing a lot of Disney Springs real estate taken up by outside chefs and vendors. So you might be happy to see that Disney-owned and operated concepts will also occupy a few of the spots here. And it looks like we finally have the answer to what the “Disney Burger” placeholder meant on that poster way back when!
D-Luxe Burger will offer gourmet burgers. No detail of America’s favorite sandwich will go untouched: you’ll find a signature beef blend, interesting toppings, and freshly baked buns holding it all together.
Non-beef eaters won’t be left out in the cold, though — look for all-natural chicken and veggie burgers as alternatives to red meat. Hand-cut fries and dipping sauces made from scratch will round out the food.
We’re also super curious to try the “artisanal-gelato shakes” (some with adult beverages thrown in just for fun), floats, hard sodas, beer on tap, and cider as well.
Amorette’s Patisserie
We’re already seen Disney make its culinary mark with The Ganachery and with the upcoming D-Luxe Burger. Now get ready to welcome a pastry shop.
At Amorette’s Patisserie, guests will feel as though they’ve stumbled into a spot that’s part art gallery, part artisanal bakery. The menu will include an assortment of both classic and contemporary pastries, and custom cakes will be available for immediate purchase or for pre-ordering. You’ll also be able to indulge in Champagne by the glass and specialty hot chocolates.
This is one we truly can’t wait to see.
Tablas Frontera
We had previously told you about Frontera Fresco by Chef Rick Bayless. But it looks like the restaurant that we can expect now will be called Tablas Frontera. Along with the name change, it seems that the concept will be a little different too than we first heard.
Frontera Fresco was for sure destined to be a quick service spot…you don’t have to look any further than Bayless’ website to see a description of the already existing Frontera Frescos, located around the Chicago area.
So what can we expect? We’re not sure this will be a table service spot, but it’s looking like it’s possible. Look for an emphasis on shared tablas, or planks, featuring grilled meats, veggies, and seafood, all coming from an open kitchen and promoting a shared experience at the table. Will this be something totally new and unique from Chef Bayless? We can’t wait to see!
Homecoming – Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar
We were super excited to confirm rumors that Chef Art Smith would also be opening a restaurant at Disney Springs. And since Florida and Southern cuisine will be the hallmark of Homecoming – Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar, it looks to be a perfect fit!
I’m looking forward to trying everything on the menu here, including homemade pimento cheese, deviled eggs, low country shrimp and grits, fried chicken (yum!) and more.
STK
While there’s no BIG news on this one, we do know that STK Orlando will be opening in time for the Summer rush as well. Rumors put this one to open in May.
Fulton’s Crab House
They just announced a Sunday Brunch, but you probably shouldn’t grow too fond of it. While we know that Fulton’s Crab House, much like Planet Hollywood, is preparing for a lengthy closing due to refurbishment, we didn’t have much detail before now.
The restaurant, which will be closed for approximately six months starting in April according to the Orlando Sentinel, plans to re-open in November. And Disney says that it will rejoin the Disney Springs lineup with a brand new concept.
While we’ve all grown accustomed to the familiar paddleboat parked out back of the area, the space will receive a “bow to stern update” to make for a more modern statement. So while everything else is retro, apparently Fulton’s is going…modern?! We shall see.
Other updates include a new rooftop lounge (okay, we’re starting to detect a trend here) and a new waterfront bar. Menu updates will include a “build your own” fish boil and an oyster bar. This is a crab joint, so look for Florida stone crab and Alaskan king crab on the menu. And land lubbers will have their pick of steaks and chops. The hot trend of classic cocktails will also be celebrated at Fulton’s as well.
Wow! Just when we thought we had seen it all, there is SO much to celebrate and look forward to at Disney Springs!
What are you most looking forward to experiencing in the newly re-imagined shopping and dining district? Leave a comment and tell us what you can’t wait to try!

POLAR BEAR!!!! alright so we went to Las Vegas (Not a fun experience long story short it’s not the city it’s us but gawsh we hated that.) But the only thing we did like was the World of Coca Cola with the Bear. You can get a picture with it and yes it costs money but the bear is amazing!

Brooke says
Joni — We don’t have an exact date yet, but it looks to open sometime between May 15 and the beginning of summer.

Nice to see that Argo Tea is still on the list of potential businesses coming to Disney Springs… ever since the original post featuring that image I’ve been excited for it. Also cool that the Cupcake ATM is going to be at the Sprinkles there. It’s really handy the times I’ve been to the Chicago Sprinkles location! (I wonder if this one will continue to operate after hours like that one does just in case anyone has a 2 AM cupcake craving :P)

Was looking forward to a Chicago-style Frontera, hope it doesn’t stray too far from the original Latin fare. Read the previous post about Argo Tea. It’s starting to feel like home.

I know it says phases starting on May 15, but do we know what will definitely be opened that day? My trip starts on the 19 so I’d love to stop at some of these places…
Brooke says
Jackie — Amorette’s Pasty and Sprinkles will most likely be opened that day, in addition to many retail outlets. We’ll be on the ground that day and will keep you posted!

I’m guessing that the Polar Bear Experience is the same thing they have at the Coca Cola store in Las Vegas – a photo op with the giant Coke polar bear.
