How can you possibly improve upon a Dole Whip in Disneyland?! We recently heard about a Disneyland Hack that might just make this must-have treat even more desirable, and our Disneyland guru Heather Sievers headed over to investigate!
Yep — Disneylanders in the know are dousing their dole whip with Tajin®!
But this add-on isn’t on the menu. Let me give you a little step by step…
Step 1: After you get into Disneyland, do NOT get your Dole Whip first! Stop by Tropical Imports — home of better-for-you snacks like whole fruit — in Adventureland. (Bonus points for spotting Pluto for the 2016 Egg-stravaganza!).
Step 2: Grab yourself a packet of Tajin® Clasico Seasoning. (It’s free!)
Step 3: Next stop? The Tiki Juice Bar, to grab a Dole Whip… or two!
Step 4: Make THIS happen…
Voila!
What makes it work? Well, if you’re not familiar with Tajin® Powder, it’s a fruit seasoning made with ground chili peppers, salt, and dehydrated lime juice. It’s good for both savory and sweet dishes, but most often specifically noted for enhancing the flavors of fruit.
Disney World visitors may already be familiar with it thanks to La Cava del Tequila, where it is used for the rim on a few of their specialty margaritas, like the Maelstrom, Tamarind, and Blood Orange Margaritas.
So, what are you waiting for? Hop to it, my Disneyland friends!
Would you like to try a Tajin® Dole Whip? Please let us know with a comment!

Only if it’s DAIRY FREE! We visit each year with my nine year old granddaughter who is allergic to dairy. We would all love to see more DAIRY FREE options at the snack stands. There are VERY FEW options and it is too bad she and other kids feel left out!
Josh Keller says
@Noreen – the pineapple Dole Whips are, in fact, dairy free, though the vanilla flavor contains sodium caseinate, so if your granddaughter is allergic to that part of the dairy, she’d want to steer clear of vanilla and swirled, otherwise she should be set!
Rach says
And if you get your Dole Whips at the Magic Kingdom, they don’t even offer the vanilla option at Aloha Isle right now. So there isn’t even the chance of cross-contamination. (Pineapple Lanai at the Poly does offer the vanilla.)

No! LOL

The Dole Whip site must be expanded. The lines are horrifically long.

Oh this is right up my alley! I get fruit cups all the time at the paleteria and they always come with the lime/chili/salt mix to shake on the fruit. It’s especially good with citrus fruit such as pineapple. I know I will love this!

My favorite is to put Li-Hing on them!

You can also buy the Tajin seasoning by the bottle at Mexico in Epcot. Useful for so many recipes!

I’m fascinated with the explanation of Tajin but we’ll be in Disney World, not Disney Land. Can it be found anywhere there? I would REALLY like to try it, because my family loves the Li-Hing powder we love on our pineapple from Hawaii.

I went to Tropical Imports and they didn’t have any Tajin seasoning packets out. Evidently (I wonder whatever could be the reason?) there was a SURGE in the amount of people using the seasoning and they were OUT.

We like the hamburger place next to Soaring over California in DCA. All the hamburger toppings are free & out where you can get them. Great ehen you need to eat low carb or gluten-free.
