This post is part of the DFB #OnTheList series, where we feature eats you’ve GOT to have while you’re at Disney! Let us know what’s on YOUR Disney Food Bucket List @DisneyFoodBlog #OnTheList!
So, what’s #OnTheList this week? Why, it’s a breakfast item that is worth waking up early for every single time…
… because nothing says “Good morning!” quite like a plate full of MICKEY WAFFLES!!
You can find them everywhere from Table Service restaurants and buffets to Counter Service spots galore. And that’s a very good thing, since this breakfast classic is considered by many as the ONLY way to start a Disney vacation day.
You’ll find Mickey Waffles most often served in their signature, smaller size.
But you just might be able to score a JUMBO Mickey Waffle at a few spots!
Those on the hunt for somewhat healthier fare should keep their eyes peeled for Multi-Grain Mickeys here and there (like this batch below from Grand Californian’s Whitewater Snacks in Disneyland Resort — you can also find them at The Wave’s almost-famous breakfast buffet in Disney World).
Of course, you could always go FULL ON dessert-for-breakfast with the specialty Mickey Waffles at the Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!
It’s the Bananas Fosters Mickey Waffles for me every time.
Which, of course, reminds me of the Jumbo Mickey Waffle with Banana Caramel Sauce at Contempo Cafe… .
Sure, you can spot character waffles from time to time featuring other Disney pals, like the Lion King Waffles, which have been served at Boma.
And Stitch has been known to appear on a waffle or two during the Best Friends Breakfast at ‘Ohana.
But while switching it up can be fun, we’re always just a little partial around here to any food with EARS.
If your Disney travels take you well outside of Walt Disney World or Disneyland and you have a hankerin’ for this morning tradition… well, don’t you fret! Because if you’re traveling to just about any Disney destination, a Mickey Waffle is never far away. Just check out the sign for the Great American Waffle Co. in Tokyo Disneyland!
And don’t forget to pick up a Strawberry & Custard Sauce Waffle while you’re there!
No matter what size you get ’em, how you top ’em, or where you eat ’em, Mickey Waffles are always known for being nicely brown and crisp on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside — as tasty as they are downright cute.
Heck, no one should be without a Mickey Waffle… not even our furry friends 😉 .
From life-size Mickey Waffle magnets, to air fresheners, to Mickey Waffle t-shirts, there are many ways to show the world how much you love them!
And don’t forget to make your own at home with a specialty Mickey waffle maker!
And we’re doing our part here at the DFB by giving Mickey Waffles a spot on our Disney Food Bucket List! So we salute you, Mickey Waffle, for making the most important meal of the day quite possibly the most fun, too!
Where is your favorite spot to grab the iconic Mickey Waffle? Let us know in the comments below!

We have that Mickey Waffle Iron, but it’s not the same. The waffles are thin and feel more like pancakes than waffles. As you can see, the parts that would typically be indented on a Mickey Waffle (and serve as a reservoir for syrup) are instead extra thick. The ears in particular are hard to cook all the way through without burning other parts of the waffle. We like the device and get a lot of use out of it, but it’s not the same. It’s not even close.

For any guests with food allergies disney has you covered. We took my daughter out for breakfast for the very first time in her life at 1900 park fair. She had anaphylactic dairy and egg allergies. We would have never taken her to a breakfast but she was so very excited to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter.
When we met with the chef he walked us through the buffet and showed us what was alright to eat. Basically it was oatmeal and white toast. He then told us he could make out daughter waffles free of all 7 major allergens.
When the waffles came to the table they were not just waffles, they were absolutly perfect Mickey waffles. Watching our daughter sitting and eating Mickey waffles like all the other kids in the resturant actually brought tears to my eyes.
Mickey waffles may not seem like much to most guests but thanks to a wonderful chef at the Grand Floridian they provided my family with the strongest moment of Disney Magic anyone could have experienced.

I never acquired a taste for sweet things at breakfast so I eat a meal higher in protein but I gotta say my wife will jump on the Bananas Foster Waffles…

There are also Mickey Waffles on the cruiseline, so you can continue the tasty experience there as well!

Sheri, your story brought tears to my eyes too! I have lived near WDW my whole life but I still know what a special place it is!

I love them anywhere they serve them! I’ve made them at home on our regular waffle machine, but they were still especially delicious because I used the official WDW waffle recipe! OMGosh were they good!

My wife and I LOVE Mickey Waffles more than anything. Our one gripe is the availability at the Epcot Resorts. We frequently stay at BWV or BCV and find the only way to satisfy our daily craving for waffles is to go to Captain’s Grill. Although it’s a favorite breakfast location of ours, we certainly don’t want the full-on buffet every morning.
We’re always hoping that they will begin serving them at the Marketplace at BC or the BW Bakery, but our wishes have gone un-granted up to this point.
What are your thoughts on the lack in this area? Should they be adding them? I would be shocked if we’ve been missing them somewhere all these years. We’ve already discussed taking a morning run to SSR one morning to indulge in breakfast at the Artist Palette since we die for their offerings.

I love having Mickey waffles on the Disney Cruise Lines! In the restaurants on board I have to ask since they mostly serve them to the kids…that’s me!

Don’t forget the Pop Century food court which has waffles with its own resort logo!

My family and I had breakfast at WDW this year and we too were treated well by the Chefs. They woukd come to our table at every restaurant we ate at and took their time explaining about the food and gluten free waffles. We are celiac and very sensitive and not once did we get sick. I was in shock then very emotional with joy to see our children be able to enjoy their food like normal children do. Their favorite were the Mickey gluten free waffles. WDW is truly a magical place. Wished we lived close by.
