Good Morning, Sunshine!
A new extra-ticket event has appeared on the Walt Disney World website. Early Morning Magic will give early risers a chance to enter the Magic Kingdom before regular park hours to experience three Fantasyland attractions along with breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus.
From 7:45 am – 10:00 am on select Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning April 26th (according to the dates currently available for booking on the website), guests will be part of the first people to enter the park and will have access to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Peter Pan’s Flight. The event is currently bookable on DisneyWorld.com through June 2016.
Since Pinocchio Village Haus is typically only open for lunch and dinner, you may be wondering what’s on the menu.
From 8:30 – 10:00 am, guests will be able to “get their fill” of items such as Cheese and Cured Meats, Scrambled Eggs with assorted toppings, Vegetable Frittata, Smoked Bacon, Pork and Turkey Sausages, Fried Potatoes with caramelized onions, and Waffles with butter and syrup, as well as Pastries, Seasonal Fruit and Berries, and juices, coffee and teas.
Disney Early Morning Magic is available with the purchase of a separate ticket (in addition to regular park admission, which is also required). The cost for the extra event is $69 per adult, and $59 for children (not including tax). Please note that, according the Disney World website, “Around 9:00 AM, the theme park will open to Guests with regular Magic Kingdom admission tickets and event-only attraction access will end.”
Interested guests may book the experience via the Walt Disney World website, or call (407) 827-7350.

I am appalled at the growing number of cash grabs lately. In my day, you took advantage of extra magic hours and booked breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Easy peasy. This price-point is RIDICULOUS.
Aaron says
I’m not a huge fan of this move. Seems like it takes away some of the luster of Extra Magic Hours for resort guests, and makes those early morning ADRs at Be our Guest and Crystal Palace seem not as exclusive.
Frank liotti says
No! This is a Disney Shake down! More money on top of the cost of a park ticket!
Mike V says
Another overpriced way to get money from people….
Really Disney???
What’s next, mid day magic where we charge you $89 for adults and $79 for children for lunch at Cosmic Rays and free fast passes for Space Mountain, Buzz and Carosel?
Megan says
To reiterate what people have said time and time again: Disney is a business (a publicly held company with a responsibility to shareholders, at that) and so long as people are willing to pay for these sorts of extras, they will absolutely continue to offer them. If it’s not a worthwhile event for you, simply don’t purchase tickets for it. Comparing this to their nighttime hard ticket event, this one seems like a much better value. You get early entry to an empty park where you can a plethora of people-free pictures, there’s a meal included, a couple of VERY popular rides that will free up a couple of FastPass slots for a family, repeat rides on what may be a favorite attraction for your child, and you don’t have to wait in line at the gates for opening since you’ll already be in the midst of the park and can very easily meander on over to another section and beat the crowds. For me personally, this isn’t a vacation extra I would choose to spend my money on, but I can completely understand why some would.
My only concern is what effect this may have on standard EMH down the line….
db says
I agree, this does seem terribly overpriced. it doesn’t seem worth it to get in a couple hours early. you aren’t spending all your time riding with short lines- youll probably spend a good hour eating……….
Dave P says
I get why they’re doing this. Since it includes breakfast, price not too bad, by Disney standards. We probably wouldn’t do it, but for those who don’t stay on site, or who can’t get fast passes for those rides, I don’t see a problem w/ it.
Essie says
No.

Absolutely ridiculous !!!!
Janelle says
My only concern is that the event lets you in at 8:30am and then regular entry at 9am. That does not give you much time to get all three rides in. I would hit the rides and then breakfast, but assume others would as well. You might also be competing with those with early ADR at BOG breakfast. Would have to think about it. We have been to other events and love them. Not for everyone though.
Mark says
$69 for us locals to jump the hotel queue and get on the Mine Train. Folks this is all happening because Disney has done poorly overseas and needs to milk the US parks first every dollar they can get. I love the Mine Train, but I’ll pass on this one.
Linda says
No, I will not be paying for Extra Morning Magic in Fantasyland; however, this is VERY disappointing news. What’s going to happen to Extra Magic Hours? My large, extended family ‘splurges’ on our WDW vacations–7 day park hoppers with full dining plans while staying at a DisneyWorld hotel. One of our favorite benefits of staying on property was EMH and it appears they may be going away. We noticed the absence of night-time EMH while planning our upcoming August 2016 vacation. Does anyone have a Disney address to comment on this? It may be time to look at some of those outside the park hotels again ;-/
Liana says
So if I finish my early morning adr at say crystal Palace and try to get on the mine train before 9, are they not going to let me ride? It seems like you’re shelling out seventy bucks PP no matter what.. So yeah… I’m gonna want on that train.
Jane says
This is magic? Yes,as in watch my money disappear . As a longtime Florida AP I am fed up. The value even for me is pretty much gone. Thanks Disney for taking what was my special time and turning it into something less.
Lindsey says
From what I understand, an early morning ADR just gets you in the park so you can beat the main crowds and be first in line when the park actually opens. This seems like it allows you access to those three rides starting at 7:45, so you’d get an hour and 15 minutes of access with only the other people purchasing the premium experience (not early ADR people), and then when the regular crowds come in, you could go eat at 9. It’s not worth it for me personally (I’m not an early bird and usually don’t even take advantage of EMH the way I should), but I can see how this would appeal to some people.
Shannon says
Coming from an “older” traveling family (children in their mid-20’s) 😛 This is ridiculous. But does it have any effect on us? Nope. If there are people out there who want to pay money for seemingly nothing, more power to them. It’s not taking anything away from me, and down the line if they do start to charge for extra magic hours, it still doesn’t bother me. We take advantage of extra magic hours to go to other parks. Extra magic hours tend to be over crowded, and really only worth it when MK is open past 1 AM as most young families are already done by that time.
If its not taking anything away, there’s no reason to be outraged by it.
Jean says
I agree, this is overpriced (although take that with a grain of salt, because I’m a passholder and a FL resident). I would pay maybe $25 for a special breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus (especially since Mickey waffles are apparently included), but I wouldn’t spend the other $44 on access to only three Fantasyland attractions for just over an hour. However, I can totally understand that people in “vacation mode” might shell out the cash for this, especially if they weren’t able to get a Mine Train or Peter Pan FP for their visit.
Sheryl says
$69 for only three rides (and one of them is Winnie the Pooh – hardly a ride!) and a breakfast? That means everyone who goes in will be in line for only those three rides. And then all will head to breakfast. If only 100 do it, maybe not too bad. But they’re not going to pay all those employees and open the parks early for just 100 people. I love Peter Pan’s Flight and look forward to trying the Mine Train, but I’ll stick to regular hours and FastPasses for both!
Katie says
I’m going to start referring to these sort of “special” offerings as “MOUSE TRAPS” from now on!
I get it, Disney Corporate took a leap of faith and TANKED with their overseas parks. However, I know a great deal of loyal, “mainland” Disney Parks fans who’ve started cancelling AP and DVC memberships because of these incessant and imbecilic “cash grabs”; including outrageous price hikes for membership renewals.
I understand Disney is first and foremost a “business”, one which is no longer in the hands of Walt’s direct descendants, and therefore playing by their OWN rules. I believe the Disney Corporate entity is SO desperate to make up for their losses overseas, that they’re using (and, let’s be honest, ABUSING) the success of, and people’s loyalties to, their mainland parks by creating these greedy “minimum benefit for maximum profit” schemes under the guise of offering “extra magic” opportunities to the consumer.
As others have stated, you can achieve “Extra Magic Hours” access to Magic Kingdom via Advanced Dining Reservations for Breakfast service at select locations, and/or as part of your Resort Guest privileges. An ADR at Crystal Palace would provide you with not only consistent/quality food, but a fun-filled Character Dining experience as well! As opposed to serving makeshift, barely-above-“Continental Breakfast” items at a non-typical Breakfast serving establishment. Likewise, having access to the park at 7:45 AM (a mere 15 minutes ahead of the 8:00 AM EMH access for Resort guests) really doesn’t seem all that “special”.
I sincerely hope this new development isn’t foreshadowing the elimination of Extra Magic Hour benefits for Resort/ADR guests in the future, however, Disney Corporate does currently seem to be on a roll with trying to dig themselves out of one hole by digging other, even BIGGER ones around it!

I echo everyone’s sentiments here. Extra magic hours was/is a huge perk for those of us that shell out the money to stay on property and most of whom are not locals. My family belongs to DVC, so we always stay on site, and extra magic hours are important for us since we are packing a lot into our trip. as Linda said above, we go big when we book a Disney trip so we want to get as much out of it as possible. It’s disappointing to see how they’re scamming for any bit of money they can.
Janet says
People just need to not do these extra ticket events if they don’t like them. But people have money to spend and Disney will take it.
Sara says
Just heard from friends of ours who did this with their children and they said it was awesome! Sounds like a cool opportunity for people to get a chance to enjoy part of the park without fighting the crowds.
KBeins says
If this is still around at Thanksgiving when my family is going, I will fork over the extra bucks. I know that time of the year is insane and getting even the slightest jump on the crowd will be worth it. Yup, everything is more expensive at Disney. But we wouldn’t go if we can’t afford it.
Todd Barnes says
We did this event in April the first day. I think it was worth it, once. It was nice having access to the rides. The regular crowds make the days long and sometimes unenjoyable. This one hour in the morning allowed my son to ride 7 Dwarfs Mine Train 10 times. With NO wait. When the park opens to regular guests at 9am, we rode a few more things then still had time to eat breakfast (because it was opened til 10 am). We lined up fast passes around this event and had great success making the most of our time. I was not exactly happy about shelling out more money on top of more money, but it was worth it. Also, the park is way emptier than I had ever seen it, just us and the other early entrants for character dining and tours. BTW, they do issue a bracelet that shows you purchased the magic morning. If other guests to regular character dining events get done before the 9am park opening, they cannot just go over and ride the 3 rides, because they won’t have the bracelet.

We had one day to spend at Disney World. We were unable to get any meal reservations. We found the morning breakfast offering. Fantastic time, perfect for our 4 year old who ate like a champ and rocked adventure land. I’d recommend this to anyone who is on a major timeline.
