Will the 2016 Disney World Free Dining Promotion be released this coming Monday, April 25th? According to Air Canada Vacations, it’s possible.

The screenshot below was taken from the Air Canada website (it comes up after searching for Promotions under specific Resort searches), which lists the promotion as “valid for booking made between April 25, 2016 through August 31, 2016.”

Please note that NONE of the information presented (inclusive dates, resort info, and terms and conditions) has been confirmed by Disney at this time. We are still awaiting an official release date, as well as confirmation on the promotion details. But it sure does seem that this coming Monday will be a day to be prepared!

NOOOO! We’re arriving Aug. 15, but we already booked it a couple weeks ago! 🙁 I was SO (potentially) psyched til I saw that caveat. Damn trying to be on top of things!
Alex– if this rumor is in fact true and these dates are accurate, you can still get the free dining. You would need to call reservations (and be prepared for the phone wait time to be verrrrrrry long, and possibly even shut down) and have them transfer your reservation to include the free dining. We’ve done it in the past with varying degrees of difficulty. One year we were staying at a resort that was included in the plan, and had already purchased the dining plan, so all they needed to do was take the charge off. The following year we had the dining plan booked but were at a resort that didn’t qualify, so they needed to modify our reservation (which really meant cancelling and rebooking) to a qualifying resort. Don’t give up hope!
IF the promotion goes live on Monday, what time can we start calling to make/change reservations for free dining?

Alex, if free dining pops on Monday and your arrival date falls in that time, contact your travel agent or Disney (if you booked direct) and ask to have the free dining promotion applied to your stay. They may or may not have to totally rebook you, and it is possible you would have to change resorts, but it is worth a shot if free dining would save your family money. Remember that you will surrender any room discount or other discounts, and will need to have the minimum ticket package as well. But you are still far enough out from your trip that you should be able to change at this point without penalty.
It would be great to get the free dining and wouldn’t mind upgrading at a discount. The dates work for us as well, fingers crossed. But, does the promotion start at a particular time, i.e. midnight or 6am, etc?
Not happy. We are arriving on October 2. I have a wedding on the first. Can’t believe we will miss it by one day!
Alex, we’re arriving on the 15th August as well! This happened to me last year too where I booked it prior to the free dining, I booked directly through Disney and whenever a promotion came out I was able to make changes so that I could get it. Last year, the 30% savings on the hotel room actually was the more discounted than the free Disney Dining Plan so I ended up keeping it the same. Keep in mind that to get the free dining plan, it means the room and everything else will be at full price so it may not be the best savings 🙂
Alex, you can change it yourself on the disney website. I booked our July trip in September, and last month the summer room discount became available. I just went to my disney experience and clicked change reservations. I I did have to change the resort choice, but saved $400.
Those dates might only be for Canadians. This is what we got last year but the US dates were different.
I just looked at Air Canada’s website and I don’t see this offer anywhere. Several Disney World special offers and packages, but not this one. Hmmmmm.
This promotion is very unfair to those of us with annual/season passes since we are not eligible. We spend a lot of money on these passes and should be offered some kind of a promotion as well.

If money allows, buy the package with tickets and then use those tickets to put toward the renew of your annual pass. 🙂

I agree with Pat…We’re DVC members and aren’t eligible for the promotion, either. Those that have DVC and with APs/SPs should be able to take part in promotions, too.
About the free dining for 2016. I just read the following: “When you book a value resort you will only receive free breakfast. I’m assuming that your Disney Dining points will only be able to be used between certain times of the day (morning) and for certain breakfast items.” My family members don’t eat much for breakfast. I’d rather have the one quick meal for lunch. I hope that this isn’t what the free dining quick meal will be if you stay at a value resort.
The interesting thing is in the dining special description it says a minimum of 3 day magic your way tickets. In the restrictions it says a minimum of two day magic your way tickets. I wonder which one it will be.
