It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for… if you LOVE grabbing lots and lots of POPCORN at Disney World, that is!
A Refillable Popcorn Bucket is now available at Disney World parks!
As for the main four parks, each has its own themed popcorn bucket like the one from Epcot you see above. However, Cast Members at Popcorn Stands at different parks should have access to a printout showing what each park’s bucket looks like so they know it’s one of the refill buckets. This allows guests to purchase a bucket at Epcot, for instance, then hop on over to, say, Animal Kingdom and get refills for $1.50 a POP at any location that sells hot and freshly popped popcorn. [Editor’s Update: Please note, the refill price increased to $1.75 in March 2018.]
There have been some conflicting reports, though, about the full scoop regarding the availability of refills.
The Cast Member we spoke with said that refills were available at any park at any time for as long as the refill price exists on the menu and you are using the current design of the refillable popcorn bucket. However, Disney has since confirmed that the refills are for the day of purchase only.
That said — our team member recently got a popcorn bucket at Magic Kingdom (where the sign clearly states that refills are good for day of purchase only), and refilled it the next day at Hollywood Studios. She asked the cast member about refills, and was told that she can refill the bucket at any park for $1.50 until the promo ends in September. So…yeah…your mileage may vary!
The Refillable Popcorn Program will only be available through September 1st. So get poppin’ — umm, I mean hoppin’ — to a Disney World Popcorn Cart as soon as you can to grab yours!
Will you be purchasing a Refillable Popcorn Bucket this summer? Please let us know with a comment!

It’s a great idea….
Buy 1 in the morning, 1 refill during day and 1 refill at night/before leaving.
Just wish that when they do these things it would be clear to everyone throughout.
Kinda crappy from the sounds that the rules are one way at one spot and a different at another.
Hopefully they work out the kinks….just gonna remember to bring additional floss!

I love Disney popcorn! It is our go to snack when doing the parks. Maybe they could put a computer chip on the bottom of the bucket and when your trip is done it turns off, just kidding!!:) Hopefully it won’t come to that.

I’d love to see what the other parks look like!

Yay, nom nom nom!
I am going to try to get to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios this weekend and if I do, I will try to get pics.

I was at Magic Kingdom yesterday and checked the sign on the popcorn cart selling the refillable buckets. Under refills it says “valid for day of purchase”. The photo shown is from EPCOT and doesn’t have that wording. I wonder if they are handling refills differently in different parks?
Shannon says
I just walked by a popcorn cart at EPCOT and their sign has been update with the same ‘valid on day of purchase’ language that I saw at Magic Kingdom yesterday. Bummer for those looking for unlimited popcorn snacks!
Suzette says
So how do you prove you purchased it that day? Do you have to keep your receipt or do they put a sticker on it or something?
Mike V says
Guessing it means valid for day but does it transfer to all parks?
I am staying at Boardwalk in a couple weeks and wonder if I purchase at one park in am and decide to hit Epcot at night can I refill there?
Nancy says
Bet it has a chip
Btent says
Bet you have to show receipt to prove purchase and date
Shannon says
Yes, keep the receipt to show date of purchase. It sounds like refills are available if you hop from park to park as long as you have your receipt. I haven’t tried it myself, just asked a cast member.
Beth says
The souvenir bucket you could get for around $6 or $7 is now the refillable one so its no different (the designs are exactly the same). You pay $10 and get refills for $1.50 for the day, just show your receipt. As a side note, Animal Kingdom now has the lotus flower bucket and it looks AWESOME and is also a luminary.

Is this still a thing for novemeber? or only till sept?
Eleanor says
I love the popcorn containers. When will the popcorn train be out.
Erik says
It now say for length of visit or something like that. We refilled t he Epcot bucket and the other 3 parks. But they world not refill it at ESPN. I was tild they could only refill the ESPN bucket. So I bought a box the were selling and accidently dumbed it so they could clean it up and give me arefill. Yes I can be a jerk sometimes.
