It’s sure been a hoppin’ summer over at Disney Springs!
The recent arrivals of Frontera Cocina, Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, and Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza barely scratch the surface of all the additions that have helped to change the landscape of Disney World’s shopping and dining district over the past year or so.
And now that those are up and running, we turn our attention to a couple of spots that have been part of the scene since the district was known as Downtown Disney. One of those is Planet Hollywood, which will reopen as the Planet Hollywood Observatory this Fall. (The other is Paddlefish, formerly known as Fulton’s Crab House — look for a late November opening for that one.)
Now we’re starting to get a feel for what the refreshed Planet Hollywood Observatory will offer, especially with the arrival of the news that the location will feature — among many other dishes — an exclusive Burger and Sandwich Menu created by Celebrity Chef and Food Network Star Guy Fieri, best known for his show “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”
These can be followed up with some of the Mason Jar Desserts that will also be exclusive to the Observatory.
So, that’s a teeny hint of what’s to come with the menu. How about a little peek inside the location itself?
The Planet Hollywood Observatory Facebook Page is a great spot to check out some Concept Art representing what’s to come.
Though the Observatory will have its own unique feel, the restaurant promises to offer what Planet Hollywood locations are best known for: plenty of rare Hollywood movie and TV memorabilia packed inside the space for both casual and more dedicated cinema buffs.
At this time, it’s likely that the Planet Hollywood Observatory is slated for an October opening. Are you looking forward to the new look and eats?
What do you think of the changes coming to the Planet Hollywood Observatory? Please let us know with a comment!

I wonder if the original celebs are still with it?

Observatory?? So does that mean there will be telescopes or and a place to see the stars, or just stars like, celebrities/celebrity memorabilia? Is it a play on words or do we get to see outer space stuff too, because that would be awesome!

Donkey Sauce.

Guy’s Burgers and sandwiches at his Vegas restaurant are fantastic.
I’m psyched about this!!

Essie — I believe the concept (and stars attached to the project) have completely changed.
Brooke says
Meredith — You can read more about the new concept in this DFB News Post. Previously, the company announced that they’ll sort of meld the two — star gazing + “star” gazing. 🙂 We’ll bring you a peek inside as soon as it’s opened!

Just when you think PH couldn’t get any worse, they let this piece of garbage take over lol

As a former chef employee of Guy’s Restaurants I must say that I could defiantly do without him in Disney (just my personal opinion). We opened his new restaurant in my area and he didn’t know any of “his” own recipes. We (the actual restaurant employees) had to fix “his” recipes just to get the food at a good enough quality to open by deadline. Not an original idea in his head. Not a very nice guy either.
