There’s a new breakfast stop in Disney World!
And it will be an especially welcome option for guests staying at Kidani Village in Animal Kingdom Lodge (the Resort’s home to Disney Vacation Club Villas). Sanaa, which is located in Kidani Village, has been one of our favorite lunch and dinner locations ever since it opened in 2009 due to its lovely atmosphere and unique dishes.
And now it’s a place where you can begin your Disney day as well, since Sanaa is the home of this new breakfast option each morning from 7:00 to 10:00 am.
Things operate a bit differently for breakfast at Sanaa. Sanaa is a Table Service restaurant for Lunch and Dinner; however, breakfast instead features a Counter Service and grab-and-go set-up (similar to The Mara in Animal Kingdom’s Jambo House and typical Counter Service options in Resorts around Disney World).
But food choices carry a bit of their own flair, with the Counter Service options including dishes like the Savanna Platter (two farm fresh eggs any style, tomato chutney, bacon, and Tanzanian Hash Browns), the Boere Breakfast (like the Savanna Platter but with the addition of Boerewors Sausage), a Safari Waffle topped with Seasonal Berries and Chai Whipped Cream (!!), and Fruit Sosatie with quinoa and dried fruit salad.
Your typical Grab and Go options are available as well (cereal, whole fruit, muffins, pastries, and yogurt parfaits) alongside less standard fare such as Warm Ceylon Cinnamon Rolls, Banana Bread with House-made African Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (Yes, please!), African Breakfast Cereal, and Boerewors Sausage and Egg Bobotie Pie.
When you consider the interesting food options (along with some good ol’ Disney staples) paired with the views of the Kidani Savanna and its beautiful animals that Sanaa provides, it seems that breakfast at Sanaa could provide a really nice start to your day at Disney World.
Wouldn’t you agree 🙂 ?
Would you like to dine at Sanaa for breakfast? Please let us know with a comment!

Interesting. When we stayed at Kidani in July, we took the guided resort tour with one of the cultural representatives. She explained that Jambo House is supposed to represent something like a royal palace, while Kidani Village represents something more like where the villagers would live. She explained that breakfast is not served in Kidani VIllage because the villagers are too poor to afford breakfast; only the king and his family were able to have the luxury of 3 meals a day. So, I wonder if that was a bit of Disney storytelling, or if that was the original intent but Disney finally gave in to guest feedback and put a breakfast spot in Kidani VIllage? Either way, I think it will be a welcome addition to the resort, and it sounds yummy!

I called WDW guest services and dining and no one seems to be able to confirm this. I would love to try it if correct.

No review??

This is welcome news! We are staying there later this year and I think it will be a great way to start off our first day at the resort. Looking forward to a review 🙂

This is so well needed at Kidani Village. It’s a really long walk to Jambo House’s Mara or Boma for breakfast. I like the convenience of the kitchen when I’m staying at a DVC but I’m also on vacation and don’t want to eat in my room every morning. I love a good walk but we are talking 10 to 15 minutes and even more from some areas of Kidani Village to Jambo House. Great news! By the way… anyone who has not eaten at Sanaa for dinner is missing out on a real treat. One of the most delicious, unique and memorable meals I have had at WDW during my 16 visits. A great tip is to plan to have dinner here during your Animal Kingdom visit. Take the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus over and then back to the park for your resort bus. It’s just a short drive.

Does any one know when this begins or how long this will last? I don’t see an official menu on the Disney website. I am staying at Kidani during the holidays and this would be a perfect way to start the morning with my family.

We are staying at Kidani in December and would love to see a review or at least some pictures of this breakfast but there doesn’t seem to be ANY on the internet. Has this started yet?
Brooke says
Tiffany, Dana, Jose, Nurse Jackie — We plan to have more in-depth info on this option soon. Stay tuned!
Justine says
Does anyone know if this will be included with the quick service dining plan?
Sue says
Long over due!!
SJ says
I’d love to try Sanaa for breakfast. What date does breakfast start? Can I use a Quick service entree?
Brooke says
SJ — It’s currently going on, and it’s in a testing phase, so Cast Members couldn’t really give us an idea of how long it would stick around. Yes, they do accept the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan.

I will be staying at Kidani in May! Haven’t been to Disney since I was eleven and now I’m in my 40’s!!! Food is real important to me and hearing that they’ll be a convenient morning option is awesome! What’s in biboutti pie???
Gloria says
I tried the breakfast…… needs some work. The sausage is NOT breakfast sausage Americans are used to. The eggs looked like they had been sitting under a hot lamp. Stick to danish, rolls, etc.
Melanie says
Are any of the items available as “snacks” under the dining plan? Ie. Muffins, cereal etc?
DFB Sarah says
Melanie, yes. Pastries, things like the banana bread, fruit and fruit bowls, etc. are snack credits.
