Editor’s Note: Geyser Point Bar and Grill will be opening in February 2017.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some of our favorite dining spots including the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Roaring Fork. And next summer it will be home to a new table service restaurant – Geyser Point Bar & Grill. A new quick service restaurant is planned as well.
The new table service eatery is part of the on-going expansion at Wilderness Lodge, which also includes the addition of waterside cabins, a new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (formerly The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), and the addition of more DVC units in the main lodge.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill will be located near the main feature pool at Wilderness Lodge and will offer indoor and outdoor seating for guests.
We’re still awaiting details on the new quick service location, but we’ll share them as soon as we have them!
Geyser Point Bar & Grill, the new quick service restaurant, and the new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas are slated to open in the summer of 2017.
Are you looking forward to the new dining experiences coming to Wilderness Lodge? Let us know in the comments.

Glad to see that Wilderness Lodge will have a casual restaurant. Whispering Canyon is great , but sometimes you just want a dinner without the show!Another quick service is also another great addition!

Boardwalk is our favorite stay for location but for atmosphere it is definitely Wilderness Lodge. It is so calming and relaxing after being on the run all day. Walking around at night listening to the crickets. We love Artist Point and it is fun at Whispering Canyon….nothing whispering about it….We, too, will love to see another dining option.

So Wilderness Lodge Villas will get a 2nd counter service place and Boardwalk has none….
Think that needs to be changed Disney?
Why I won’t stay there again.
Jeff says
Mike,
The Boardwalk has a bunch of quick options just outside on the Boardwalk (that’s kinda the theme), including Boardwalk Bakery, slices of pizza & other kiosks.
Are you just too lazy to go down some stairs and take a very short walk???
Mike V says
Whoa there Jeff….no I am quite fine every morning heading down to get whatever I want. Just as I would be walking around at any other resort to their quick service location.
However a simple little breakfast sandwich when comparing what other resorts offer for breakfast is quite lacking to me.
I need breakfast from my resort, my day and when I get lunch in dinner is spent in the parks, I don’t hang around at the resort.
So to your claim that there are a “bunch” of options, specifically for breakfast, to me is down out wrong.
In addition, your claim of a short walk is a little arguable as well….we were placed in the very last room on the 4th floor in our most recent visit. Thanks to modern technology I was able to measure that my walk to the bakery every morning was .43 miles. Granted that is a small portion of what a daily trek around a park is but never have I experienced that at any other Disney resort.

I agree, Jeff. What ridiculous whining.

I stayed at Boardwalk last summer and loved it. I think it is my favorite resort. But the food/restaurant selection (at the time) were pathetic. We chose Wilderness Lodge this Spring for the more convenient restaurants and quick service. If you buy a resort mug it shouldn’t be that difficult like at The Boardwalk to refill the freaking thing. At the Boardwalk we had to go on elevators down 3 floors then down steps, all the way outside and down the boardwalk just to refill a mug or grab a slice of pizza

Get over there and give us a report, Jeff! Just got the email that Roaring Fork and Trout Pass are going to be closed but Geyser Point will be open for our stay Feb 10-14.
Brooke says
Carissa — Yes! We’ve confirmed that Geyser Point will be opening soon! We can’t wait to check it out!

We are staying at WL for the first time the first week of April. Would love to know how the new Geyser Point rates and how easily it is to get to it. Thank you!!!
