Cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes. These are three of our favorite words. The only thing that can improve on the word cupcake is to put the word character in front of it. We’ve touted our love of character-inspired cupcakes many, many, so many times. Darth Vader? Check! Lady and the Tramp and Cinderella? Check and check! Elsa? Anna’s Birthay? Olaf? It’s serious bizzness.
So when I saw this little piece of loveliness at the Magic Kingdom Confectionery last week, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. (Like, for real, I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I finally got one.) And there’s no way you can fight the urge this time. So just give in. Say it with us: “We’ll take a Belle Cupcake, please.”
It’s a Belle-Inspired Cupcake, and it. is. everything. Rose? Yellow frosting? PEARLS?!?!?
You want to plunge your face into this thing, right? It’s OK. You’re among friends.
So, the flavors on this one aren’t massively inventive (but we think classic flavor is actually fitting for one of Disney’s most classic princesses). The cake is a simple vanilla — but a little fluffier and lighter than other cupcakes we’ve tried. The icing was more of the same: sweet, fluffy, and softer than usual. Maybe there’s just something about that intellectual, curious princess that requires softer, more delicate cupcakes.
Thankfully, they aren’t delicate with the frosting. There’s a ton of it to accompany that moist cake.
Belle lovers (and lovers of all things beautiful and cupcake-y), the Belle Cupcake is worth every penny. Though simple in flavor, when it’s done this well both in terms of taste and appearance, you really can’t go wrong. DFB-approved!
We found this offering at both Big Top Treats and the Main Street Confectionery in the Magic Kingdom. And we’ve also spotted it at Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs. And we’ve heard tell it’s in Disneyland as well! So whether you’re just starting your day or heading out of the park, you won’t be too far. Be our guest (ha!) and buy two. We won’t tell.
Now we wouldn’t be surprised if the Belle Cupcake is a temporary jewel in the cupcake case; after all, the live-action Beauty and the Beast film opens soon, and Disney is pretty well practiced at promotion in cupcake form (see: alllllll the Frozen cupcakes!). But, seriously, who cares? It’s beautiful. It’s exceedingly edible. It’s delicious. Just go fork over your $4.99 (or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) as soon as humanly (or living candle stick holderly) as possible.

I loved the cappachino cupcake from DHSs Pizza Planet, but can someone tell me if it’s still available anywhere? TY
